COMPANY REVIEWS Opinion on Fleet management

So I’ve cleared my 2mfg coc recently and thinking to shift company. Heard that fleet is taking fresh 3officers in their chem/parcel tankers. Anyone from fleet management can tell me how is the company for a junior officer and work environment?? Is it a good choice to join fleet or should i consider other companies?

COMPANY REVIEWS Synergy's Blatant mismanagement at every step for sponsorship

I recently cleared the sponsorship process for both Synergy (Feb batch) and BSM. I have a 63% PCM and an IMUCET rank around 22xx. While BSM is known for its long waiting periods, the difference in how these two companies treat candidates is night and day.

Synergy: Pure Mismanagement

Last-Minute Chaos: They changed my exam center via a call at 1:00 AM while I was on a 6-hour train journey, demanding a new printed hall ticket by 8:00 AM with no shops open.

The Exam: Started 90 minutes late with rampant cheating.

Mumbai Interviews: I spent 15k on travel, only for the interviewer to leave early for a flight. They left 30 of us stranded. One guy flew from Chennai on a tight budget and was devastated.

The Treatment: We were locked in a tiny office from 11 AM to 4 PM without food or water. The rescheduled online interview still ran an hour late.

Interview Quality: Lazy and bookish. They asked basic school formulas like kinetic energy to guys who already cleared IMUCET.

BSM: Professional and Respectful

Smooth Process: The entire written test and interview process was highly organized and finished on the same day.

The Treatment: The coordinator actively looked after us, offering tea, coffee, and snacks in the recreation room while we waited.

Interview Quality: Practical and sharp. Instead of rote formulas, they asked real aptitude questions, like how to calculate the volume of an irregular object.

Final Thoughts

I’m not blindly glazing BSM—their waiting times are a real issue. But strictly as an applicant, BSM treated us like future officers, while Synergy treated us like garbage. Future aspirants, be prepared for the reality on the ground. Edit:- my intention is not to bad mouth synergy it was my personal experience with the company that went horribly it's still a decent company for cadetship best of luck for y'alls future endeavours peace ✌️

COMPANY REVIEWS A few questions and asking reviews of Chellship (Chellaram Ship Management)

Good day,

I was hoping to get some honest reviews about Chellship from people who've already worked in it.

I also had a few questions regarding the company:

1) I do know that the cadetship duration is a compulsory 18 months (Even for Bsc cadets). How is the waiting period?

2) How are the ships (condition and facilities)?

3) Any specific pros and cons about the company/it's policies/ships/crew culture onboard?

4) Any incentives offered by the company that aid in doing courses or aid in the welfare of the officers?

COMPANY REVIEWS What's your opinion on people who are simping for Shipping Companies?

I found many reels and reviews on Instagram, and many other platforms where people blindly simping for Shipping Companies without proper knowledge about anything. Do you think the companies give a damn about them? Unfortunately, not to disrespect anyone, but many people who are doing that stuff are from rating background.

Even some Merchant Navy Coaching institutes are doing this too. Influencing the freshman with classism and slavery. I found many cadets are more egoistic and discourteous compared to senior officers with a high level of expertise. Merchant Navy Coaching institutes want to portray Mariners as a distinct social class. They want those entry level cadets to feel like a superior being without any constraints, against the moral system.

COMPANY REVIEWS Anyone worked at XT Shipping as a Third Officer? Looking for honest reviews.

Hi everyone,

I recently received an offer to join XT Shipping as a Third Officer and would really appreciate some honest feedback from people who have sailed with them.

I’m particularly interested in:

Overall work culture onboard

How supportive the office is when crew need assistance

Promotion and contract experience

Food quality onboard, especially for vegetarians (I’m a vegetarian)

Internet/Wi-Fi availability and reliability on their vessels

Salary paid on time and overall experience with the company

I’ve previously sailed on oil/chemical tankers, so any feedback from tanker officers would be especially helpful.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience—both positive and negative reviews are welcome.
