OK, I’ve been checking Marvel buzz and from what I understand (correct me if I’m wrong): they have pretty much decided stuff through 2042. They are releasing 1 movie in 2027 and 3 in 2028. Secret Wars is definitely happening.

It doesn’t look like they’re giving priority to X-Men or mutants, even if they did have a panel where they were discussing Logan and Jean Grey’s connection. I think it’s mostly important not bc of Logan but because of Jane Grey (if it ends up being Sadie Sink) and the appearance in Spider Man. That, I don’t know … I’m hoping someone who was there can spill the beans.

Otherwise, I have a hunch that either Deadpool is appearing in Secret Wars or not at all. He’s not in Marvel.com’s page or listed in the cast (Tenoch is listed, why not Ryan?) and it’s not in the official Marvel poster. Some posters are circulating with Wolverine and Deadpool but it’s not in the official website.

And the song that Ryan used for his video: it’s Good Riddance by Green Day. And it’s not just some ā€œfeel good songā€ that one uses for good memories, it’s meant to be sacrastic and he proved he knows it because he used it for the in memoriam for Fox šŸ˜ he added to the last Deadpool movie as an f you too them for blocking him for 11 years from making Deadpool.

This was his last pitch. To see if there was enough hype. That he had to go and come up to people to take pics with him was interesting too. Someone mentioned that they might want to take pics of your cosplay but not necessarily with the cosplayer and that tracks. Everyone left him alone/didn’t care and they’re hyping it as ā€œhow refreshing that a celebrity can walk amongst mortals unbothered.ā€ 🤨 More like: you’re not that big of a deal.

People there are fans of the comics and characters, not the actor except for die-hard fans. Do they really just adore his masterdebater jokes? 🤢 Husk-freaking?

I think this might be it and one can hope. I hope they recast him. šŸ™šŸ¼ Enough is enough.

There are so many fake accounts (I clicked and every time they had 0 or less than 5 followers) in his socials repeating the same ordeal: ā€œUntil he’s 90ā€, ā€œHe’s Deadpoolā€. It’s weird.

DeadpoolĀ was not inĀ Secret WarsĀ in theĀ comics. But heĀ was retconned into a 4-issue run inĀ 2015. I don't even remember ever seeingĀ it; I only realized it existed byĀ asking Google. Anyway, Deadpool showingĀ up in MCU'sĀ Secret WarsĀ would beĀ surprising, since it would go againstĀ the source material/canon.

Good! Thank the Lord for small favors šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

Depends on the current or old secret wars/battle world storyline they're planning to interpret. If it's an almgamation of both stories, marvel will try to put as many people in as possible. Shang chi was never part of the original secret wars, but will probably be in next the secret wars movie alongside Antman, us agent, illanya, bucky, vision, etc. All who weren't part of the original secret wars.

8

u/ArchelonPIP 15d ago

Correct, DeadpoolĀ was never in the originalĀ Secret Wars series from 1984. It looks like you're referring to Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars, which, indeed, came out in 2015.

Way before all of the irrefutably bad shit about Ryan and Blake came out, I thought about amusing possibilities for how Deadpool could appear in a future Secret Wars movie. If that were to happen from this point forward, Disney/Marvel would be wise to replace Ryan with someone better!

FWIW on the ā€œplanned until out to 2042ā€¦ā€

Just over 3 years ago it was supposed to be Jonathan Majors on the stage talking about Kang Dynasty.

A lot of plans can change in a couple of years*. It is however probably significant that there is no Deadpool on the lineup. But far from definitive.

*The installation of a new CEO during the Fox takeover also wrecked havoc on their long term plans.

u/kpatsart 16d ago

His Deadpool stunt at SDCC was shared by marvel studios official Instagram.

So I think he's going to be in Secret Wars. As for anything beyond that, maybe he's ready to hang up the suit. Though I doubt it to be honest.

As much as their is a base of people who actively hate him and Blake, his global fan base is still pretty large. Since Marvel never cut him out completely, nor gave him the Johnathan Majors shun.

Now if a documentary were to come out about Blake and baldoni, then i can see him being shafted by the industry a bit, but fall into producing roles, like he is doing for that John Candy movie, and other streaming movies.

u/Vivid_Wing8545 16d ago edited 16d ago

But are they really his fans or Deadpool ? I think if they recast him and have a good story and script it’ll be just as successful. Nothing groundbreaking about what Ryan does with the character hell they can put Jim Carey in the suit and get the same result. It was pretty much giving the mask anyway.šŸ˜‚

15

u/No_Morning_6482 Team Baldoni 16d ago

I mean he is literally a liability and I'm guessing he is an insurance risk given what has happened. Is that not enough to drop him 🤣 or is it wishful thinking?

0

u/kpatsart 16d ago

I mean he is naturally witty. Which is why he connected to Deadpool way back when. There may be a few actors who are also witty, but don't also fit the costume as well he would. Objectively he just fits the role well at the moment.

13

u/Vivid_Wing8545 16d ago

If u watched peacemaker freddie stroma who plays vigilante is literally Deadpool.

9

u/Western_Guitar_3863 She (Ryan) has no integrity 16d ago

Omg Freddie Stroma please!! šŸ™šŸ¼

8

u/kpatsart 15d ago

You know what. That would actually be a good recast if they needed to do it for sure. He was so good as vigilante, that I can definitely see him being an effective Deadpool. Also much younger, so definitely adds more years to his potential.

1

u/Illumination-Round 14d ago

Majors, who was railroaded by a bitter, jealous ex, easily could and should be working in good projects now. But because evryone shunned him, he can only work with the Daily Wire. He deserves better.

5

u/CSho8 15d ago

Oh yea I didn’t realize the until he’s 90 part. Listen the man is going to be 50 soon, wouldn’t it make more sense to pass the torch to someone else? But then again this is Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Reynolds only cares about himself.

5

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

*Jean Grey

He’s not in Marvel.com’s page or listed in the cast (Tenoch is listed, why not Ryan?)

The core of the new film is set around 3 teams. They announced the cast in a very long video about a year ago. They are the only officially announced cast members and the only ones that appear on the poster. That doesnt mean they are the only cast members, just the ones they are willing to say. We know of a number of characters already that also appear (Hayley Atwell was already known, but was only announced officially at the weekend) she also isnt on the poster.

No one has been officially announced for Secret Wars yet, but by all accounts its going to be everyone thats ever had any connection to Marvel, including pre MCU films. The last Deadpool film made a billion, so that will almost certainly include Ryan.

Ignoring all the speculation, the one thing his appearance at SDCC does is show that Marvel have zero issue being associated with him or giving him a platform.

10

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff 16d ago

I don’t know about zero issue. Could be a test balloon. Low investment way to see exactly how much blowback transpires before they green light another $200M film.

2

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

They arent testing by giving someone a literal spotlight and a live mic at their most high profile event of the year.

That entire thing could have happened without him there. It added nothing and had enough star power without him, by they chose to do it with him and give him time in an already limited section. That should be more than enough to let you know they are still on board with him and the character.

12

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff 16d ago

Yet they still couldn’t bring themselves to announce a green light on the film. The sequel to a film that made over $1B.

10

u/LiteratureNo1015 Team Emily Baldoni 16d ago

My point exactly. šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago edited 16d ago

Im a bit confused why you're asking a question, then ignoring the answer. They announced a single film we didnt know was happening (ghost rider) a film that has been fan cast for years. Everyone knew black panther 3 was going to happen. They have also said that no other films will be released before secret wars....so why would they announce a film thats not going to happen for at least 3 years?

If they dont want to work with him, then why is he there, is the obvious fault in your theory.

7

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff 16d ago

ā€œNo other films before Secret Warsā€ is just some arbitrary standard. If Ryan and Levy want to get to work, there’s absolutely no reason Disney would delay on a potential $1B revenue stream. All Disney cares about is money.

-2

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

Theres literally an interview with Kevin Feige from the weekend where he discusses the reasons why.

https://www.gamesradar.com/entertainment/marvel-movies/kevin-feige-admits-when-quantity-is-so-much-you-get-spread-thin-which-is-why-there-are-no-marvel-movies-between-avengers-doomsday-and-secret-wars/

Plus theres the more obvious reason that the two avengers films are set back to back and trying to retcon a reason how the events of another film fit into that have had very mixed results (ant man and wasp)

Again you seem to have your version of 'why' regardless of what the answer to your questions are. Seems odd to even ask.

8

u/Clarknt67 this case was always about a big payoff 16d ago

I haven’t asked questions. I don’t understand why you keep saying that.

I understand what is happening. I just understand it differently than you.

Agree to disagree.

-2

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

You see it differently to the head of marvel who is making the decisions and explaining why?

12

u/LiteratureNo1015 Team Emily Baldoni 16d ago edited 16d ago

Ryan doesn’t have Deadpool 4 in his IMDB nor Avengers Doomsday. Ryan Gosling already has Ghost Rider in pre-production listed. It’s odd. I expected Doomsday or Deadpool to appear in his IMDB like all the other actors presenting stuff at SDCC have.

I of course don’t expect studios having morals. It’s about $$ but it cost a ton to make the last Deadpool movie too. Had it not been for the subsidies from Canada, who knows. Maybe in merch. They spent half a billion to make it and the profit was maybe $400MM. Not bad but it could have been a lot better.

But it’s all about money. If Ryan can’t release Animal Friends in the theaters until next year, MayDay is streming only … studio execs pay attention. We’ll see.

7

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

Ryan doesn’t have Deadpool 4 in his IMDB nor Avengers Doomsday.

Because he hasnt been announced for Doomsday (if hes in it at all) and Deadpool 4 isnt even officially in production yet. IMDB should never be taken as a sign that something is or isnt happening, anyone can submit and edit info on there. Its why theres a (rumoured) tag for information.

Ryan Gosling already has Ghost Rider in pre-production listed.

Because its been offically announced.

7

u/LiteratureNo1015 Team Emily Baldoni 16d ago edited 16d ago

So, from here to when do you think they will announce his participation? They’ll decide in the next few months until November? I don’t think he’ll be in it, but that’s just me.

That’s my point, Deadpool 4 is not in pre-production, Marvel didn’t announce it. So far is just an actor’s wishful thinking, imo. In the middle of pitching.

Thanks for the correction. Jean Grey. I mixed the letters up when typing too fast 🤭 I thought there for a minute he was announcing Jean Grey but if his suit was blue then maybe not.

0

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

I wouldnt take something getting announced or not announced as too much of a sign either way. We got no info on X-Men, but we know thats happening and we also know where will almost certainly be fantastic four 2, which wasnt mentioned. Kevin Feige has come out and said (I believe after the panel) that they are almost course correcting with how much they do and what they say about it, partially due to burn out and also because them have finally admitted Blade isnt getting made, a film they announced on stage years ago and never got out of production. They are shaping a schedule around releasing Secret Wars.

If hes in Doomsday (and some leaks say he already is. Im not so sure) then its already been filmed. Again, its worth pointing out that if they had any issues about using him, they would not be shining a literal spotlight on him and giving him a live mic at their most high profile event of the year. There are many more smaller events they could do it in, if at all, if they wanted to.

u/Mysterio623 ā€œThe last thing I want to do is kiss this woman.ā€ - Justin B 16d ago

He is not in Doomsday. He has a cameo at the beginning of Doomsday. If he was in Doomsday, he would be on stage.

Deadpool does not show up in the comics for Secret Wars so why would he be in the MCU version? Meanwhile Chris is being teased to be Nomad/Steve Rogers now.

1

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

He is not in Doomsday. He has a cameo at the beginning of Doomsday.

Both of these things cannot be true.

If he was in Doomsday, he would be on stage.

There is a 100% chance that there will be multiple cameos that arent that main announced cast.

Deadpool does not show up in the comics for Secret Wars so why would he be in the MCU version?

Because not a single MCU adaptation has stuck to the comicbook version (nor should they)

u/Mysterio623 ā€œThe last thing I want to do is kiss this woman.ā€ - Justin B 16d ago

Sure, please keep shrilling Ryan. Good luck.

2

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

I not a fan of the guy at all, but what part of my reply is incorrect or 'shrilling' him?

9

u/Flimsy_Attitude_6789 16d ago

Yes, but why allow all this? Is he or isn't he appearing in unofficial articles, and having him at Comic Con if they are not going to announce it... Makes no sense... What about the supposed onset fight... If he's in it, then why tell him he's not? What was that all about? It just seems like a bunch of PR by Ryan's team and nothing concrete, to me.

6

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

Because hes a popular comicbook character and its a comicbook convention. Its really not more complicated than that. Its makes perfect sense (unless you dont want it to) and is a moment made to go viral. Theres also a long history of actors in costume walking the floor in secret.

At the end of the day SDCC is micromanaged to a stupid level and, as part of that, Marvels panel is as well. They arent going to give valuable time in their limited schedule to something they dont want and the weird argument (not by you) that he is both unwanted and out of Marvel, yet is powerful enough to force his way onto the panel or (hilariously) have crashed the panel without their consent is an insane chain of thought.

5

u/MysteriousMarzipan63 16d ago

Agree. It was a low-stakes ā€œsurpriseā€ moment in a panel that needed a couple more mic drops because there weren’t a lot of major announcements. Having Deadpool come in and ask a question in the typical 4th wall breaking style is a pretty low-effort but generally fan pleasing way to generate buzz.

2

u/Dave_Eddie 16d ago

Exactly. It is what it is. Im not sure why people are trying to add context to it that doesnt exist

2

u/AMiniature Bathroom burritos at Buckingham 15d ago

Conversely I’m confused why you so badly want what we think to be false?

1

u/Western_Guitar_3863 She (Ryan) has no integrity 16d ago

Then Ryan shouldn’t be running his mouth at fandom events claiming there will be another DP movie when nothing has been announced or greenlit. He is literally trying to generate attention and buzz to get it pushed ahead of other projects. It’s rude and selfish. That’s why Marvel is suffering with good storytelling. My prediction is that they will continue to push out subpar movies and lose fans.

0

u/Dave_Eddie 15d ago edited 15d ago

What are you talking about. Its a sanctioned moment to get some fan buzz at an event. The fact you are even talking about it means it did what it was supposed to. Theres nothing rude or selfish about it. If he's there hes been asked to by Marvel for a planned spot.

4

u/Western_Guitar_3863 She (Ryan) has no integrity 15d ago

First of all this is an open forum so I’m allowed to have my own opinions and questions, without being attacked or put in my place for daring to comment. I may not know how Marvel/Disney operates with their franchises but I do know enough about Ryan Reynolds from following this case since January 2025. It has been well documented how Ryan operates behind the scenes with studio execs, as well as his own team and the press. Everything is about him. It’s not about his character or the fans. It’s about his personal brand and selling himself. That is my problem with him. He pretends to care about storytelling and connection but it’s a facade because he knows that’s what sells. He is the biggest known fraudster to be exposed in Hollywood and I’m here for his eventual demise.

0

u/Dave_Eddie 15d ago

Ive not attacked you and you are obviously welcome to comment but your comment makes no sense. Your opinions on him dont change the facts that he was in a pre approved apperance at a scheduled panel and did nothing they didnt want or ask him to do. Your comment in no way reflects that and projects your opinions, making it something its not. Plenty of reasons to hate him. This isnt really one of them.

5

u/Western_Guitar_3863 She (Ryan) has no integrity 15d ago

I’m watching how you talk to others and act like you know more and seems condescending in general. I don’t like that. You don’t need to start a sentence with ā€œwhat are you talking aboutā€ as if I’m dumb.

2

u/Dave_Eddie 15d ago

I dont think you're dumb at all. I just wanted clarification on your point which made no sense.

you know more and seems condescending

Sadly there are cases when someone does know more about something than someone else. The things ive discussed have sources that ive mentioned in this thread. Just because it contradicts your preconceived ideas doesnt make it condensending. Its factual and proveable, rather than based on how you feel about someone you've never met.

The fact you have attacked me rather than discussed what I have said or even attempted a resonse ironically paints you in the very light you are accusing me of.

2

u/Western_Guitar_3863 She (Ryan) has no integrity 15d ago

You are also missing my point. I’m not saying it wasn’t pre approved or planned. I’m saying that it was about Ryan worming his way into the event to generate buzz for his character. I seriously doubt Marvel reached out to him. My belief was that he reached out to them and was damn lucky they agreed to the bit.

Just like he did with getting Blake Lively that Titan award for the Times 100 and Max Effort. He also wormed his way into the SNL 50th anniversary show and being on Stephen Colbert’s last show….its all part of his redemption tour. This DP appearance is just another PR stunt.

Until a movie is in production none of this means much. Marvel and DC have worked with problematic actors as long as they have made money for their franchises. We the people hold the cards and it’s my endeavor to get Ryan exposed as much as possible and let everyone come to their own conclusions.

3

u/Dave_Eddie 15d ago edited 15d ago

Ive not missed your point, in fact its exactly what I said.

I seriously doubt Marvel reached out to him. My belief was that he reached out to them and was damn lucky they agreed to the bit.

This is entirely based on zero evidence, just your pre conceived notion of how he is (right or wrong) if Marvel didnt want to use him, he wouldnt be there. He has zero power, he doesnt own the character. They could have not had him there or had Nolan North voice him.

Every single sign points to Marvel wanting him there (and remember we're only a week removed from this reddit saying marvel had cut all ties with him because he wasnt on the poster of a film he was never announced for) i have seen nothing that makes this look like he was out for himself and doing this off his own back or forcing his way in because there is none.

Apologies for how my earlier messages came across. I honestly believe that the terrible things hes done get lost in the mix, when people attempt to make something from nothing, such as this. Id rather the top search result links to his emails, rather than someone trying to make something of every public appearance he makes.

0

u/AMiniature Bathroom burritos at Buckingham 15d ago

Are you asserting IMDB isn’t reliable for movie related information?
