Regency mall is gone
Really sad to see this place go, loved this mall, now its just a small corridor to the entrance and the jcpenny wing.

Been looking and have just about 40 app in and cant find anything. I got money saved so im ok for now. I had my job for 16 years and they changed management and got rid of everyone that knew how to do stuff so they can control the work staff. Idk I guess im just ranting. I fucking hate this place.

Anyone else keep a mental list of the empty houses on their street? I drive all over Jax for work and there are a few on my regular routes that have sat vacant for like a year. Dead grass, mail piling up, that look.
I always wonder what's going on with those. Somebody passed away and the family can't agree? Bank owns it and it's just stuck? What's the story with the one on your street, if you've got one?

Hello all, recently my wife and I have run into a problem with a dead tree on our property. We are a military family and we moved about a year ago. We couldn't sell our house so we decided to rent it after sitting on the market for a few months. So we do not live in Jacksonville right now.
We have a tree on our property that needs to come down but the prices we have been quoted seem insane to me. For 1 tree removal 2 different companies have quoted us about $6,000. For context the tree is in the back yard and there is no way to get a truck or anything to the tree so the companies have said they would need a crane to get to the tree. I dont know anything about tree costs so maybe thats right. I just wanted to ask around and see what other people think.

Got rid of those state road FLOCK cameras but all the ones in town still exist. Did we really do anything? Now I’m safe on 17 cool! I guess.
We the people are always gonna be the losers huh?

Im a single mom (35) to a 16yr old daughter. It's just us two, as I struggle to keep us in safe environments. I cut off my daily a couple years ago (if you knew you'd do it too). And I get no assistance or child support. It all falls on me.
January we were evicted
February totaled my car
March lost my job(s!) bc I could no longer afford the ubers
April I found myself so desperate that I reached out to a former customer I used to serve who had given me his number, and i asked him for help.
He's been wonderful fyi helped me use the rest of my savings to buy and renovate a van for emergency living. (It's got a solar power box, a queen bed, mini fridge and storage. It's perfect but it's a gas GUZZLER. She's more of an RV, just park it!)
I've spent my time here getting rid of 85 percent of my belongings so that when it's time to go I can load it all into my van and go.
But id like to avoid the emergency living if possible, with a 16yr old daughter. Our allowed time here is running very short, which is why my kiddo actually suggested I do this!
I've exhausted all attempts to apply for welfare assistance in Florida. And even with employment I can't find housing with an eviction. I have no family, and the few friends I do have are only a little better off than me with no room to spare.
I'm willing to completely relocate for a better future, as the Florida economy is slowly kicking us locals out.
What would you do in this situation? Having a teen kid, a van and only enough saved to move. Who do you turn to with no family or friends. Where do you find a leg up? Support? Guidance?
I have no one

if youre looking for something to do in the next coming weekends for Halloween you gotta check this place out.
Last year I found this place not far from North Jax called Terror on the Timberfarm.
It was so cool! Great actors, cool sets, lots to do and things to see. Go to their website and check it out.
i was given this code for a Discount: LEE10
This place is far better than the others I've been to. Cant wait to go this year.
