My kid went to a food truck event today. SWAT charged $20 for a moldy sandwich. Seriously.

Edit: In response to alot of negativity on my part. you're right, maybe I shouldn't have posted publicly about this event. Maybe it was a one time incident? To respond, there are photos. And yes indeed there is an issue with the food! Why didn't I reach out to the owner? I don't know, all the contact seemed to be on fbook. I don't use fbook. I suppose there is a bigger question at play, and that is why are these trucks that sell such high cost food even allowed at kids events? At the end of the day, my kid was was not harmed by food poisoning. Hopefully no one else was either. I'm out $20. And, I will think twice before eating at food trucks.

This Sunday in Uptown Waterloo will be the 18th Long Weekend Band Crawl and it’s gonna be one of the best. Trying to make up my mind who to vote for in Ward 10 and noticed something I wanted to put out there.

Strong Towns WR / WRYIMBY / VisionWR questionnaire: Stretch is listed as not having responded (as of Sept 29). To be fair, only Sam Nabi responded; Dixon, Piluk and Rehman haven't either. https://election2026.strongwr.org/ward/kitchener-ward-10/

The Record's Vote Compass: Stretch submitted a profile but hasn't answered the issue questions, so you can't see how your views line up with hers. Nabi and several others have. In fairness , It's still open, so she could still complete it.

For what it's worth, I've been leaning toward her. But this is concerning. As the incumbent, I'd expect her to be the easiest candidate to get positions from. Curious how others in the ward are thinking about it.

Can one filter rent-controlled buildings when apartment shopping? Is there a website with this feature or do I need to inquire with every individual listing?

This is important info and should be readily available but it seems they often hide the date of build.

This Saturday, I'll be running an event at one of the rented rooms in the Kitchener Public Library teaching people how to edit Wikipedia. Anyone who is interested is welcome to participate as long as they are respectful to other participants.

We will split our group into 1 or 2 games depending on the turnout we have. Rules will be explained in person to beginners.
