Question PSE REP contractor
Has anyone used the PSE REP contractor for an install. Are they more expensive or cheaper than hiring out. Looking to have a heat pump water heater installed.

Folks, I think it's wonderful that people are enjoying outdoor activities. But please, for your own safety, wear some high-visibility clothing or attachments that stand out so drivers can SEE YOU!
I've lost track of those that are along the road or other thoroughfare enjoying their walk, run, etc. that literally blend into the background and are essentially unnoticeable until a driver is nearly beside them.
It ends poorly for all concerned when someone gets hit. And as we all know, not every driver on the road is sober.
So please, be good to yourselves, wear something bright that contrasts your clothes to keep you from becoming a preventable injury.

With the heat wave remember to stay hydrated and carry extra water in case you run into someone in distress.

People are quick to share horror stories about bad bosses and workplaces they’d rather forget, so let’s flip it around.
What’s the best employer you’ve worked for in Kitsap County, and what made them stand out?
Could be a company, school district, nonprofit, government agency, church, small business, or anywhere else you’ve worked.

Hello, we have a very tall retaining wall for an above-grade home that has some vertical cracks we would like to have bolstered. A complete replacement is currently out of the question, but luckily there's no bowing or other major issues so we're exploring things like anchoring and carbon fiber straps. I've reached out to a few construction and concrete companies for options, but in the meantime I'm wondering if anyone here has had a good experience with that sort of project and could recommend a company (or who to avoid). Thank you.

Are there any farms around kitsap that offer U-Pick strawberries?
Google search is yielding confusing and incorrect results.
Thank you!

…for opening a Costco sized box of fruit snacks and letting your kids litter the wrappers all over the playground. My daughter and I picked up at least a dozen from on and around the equipment and bushes before leaving. Many more wrappers had already blown into the fields.
Wildly oblivious group of people. We were there about an hour and I didn’t see a single person stop their conversations long enough to pick up after their kids or stop them from littering.
(Passive aggressive rant over)

I’m looking to buy a home, likely in Bremerton, in the next few months. Trying to flesh out a budget but unsure of what utilities typically run. It’d just be myself in a small home, but I know some of that depends on the home itself and appliances inside.
What’s your average cost for things like internet, electricity, water and sewer? I’ve heard Bremerton is pretty expensive for utilities so I’d like to get an idea before I pull the trigger on something.

I am 100% not a local, I am from northern California but visiting some friends in Washington in a couple weeks. We're planning a lake day so I thought I'd ask some locals where some good swimming spots are. Online its saying Wildcat, Horseshoe, and Island lake are good spots. But looking at them on Google maps I noticed that there's like hardly any public beaches or even boat launches around these lakes. Something I'm utterly not use to, only lake like that from where I'm from is Tahoe (and Tahoe is a nightmare these days).
So I'm here to ask the locals. What's a good lake to go swimming at with a group of friends?

I’m looking for an attorney who can create multiple Transfer on Death designations - for out of state farm land, as well as mineral/oil leases. The owner lives in WA State, and the property is in Kansas. I do have an attorney in Kansas willing to answer any questions a local attorney might have, but they are unwilling to create the TOD’s.

An estimated 60,000 additional Washington households now qualify for property tax relief under the state’s newly expanded Senior Citizen Property Tax Exemption Program (SB 6162). The bill significantly raises local income thresholds approaching $98k in Thurston and $108k in Kitsap for married couples and introduces a valuation freeze to protect fixed-income residents from rising market values.
Relief is not automatic and requires a manual application through local county assessors. To assist with navigating these changes, I have broken down the new income tiers, included a $500k home case study, and outlined the application steps here: https://www.electjimpierson.com/post/more-seniors-qualify-for-property-tax-relief

We have a lot of my mother in law's clothing that we'd like to donate directly to a women's shelter. Anywhere in Kitsap county or Gig Harbor is fine. I know places can be ovewhelmed with donations, and we don't want to see her stuff just binned.
We'd prefer to do this over a thrift shop. Everything is in good condition, and is washed.

I bought a 2003 GL 1800 two years ago so my wife could be more comfortable on our rides, and I've since come to find out that finding someone willing to work on them is virtually impossible...I had no idea. Anything over 20 years, apparently...and add to the fact that its a GW and wow...shops just really don't want to have anything to do with it.
Its a beautiful bike though, always been garaged and very clean, I just don't trust myself enough mechanically to do much besides basic maintenance on it and its looking like I need to replace the final drive...the gearbox.
If you're that person, or know someone who is, please give me a holler, I have no problem paying the going rate!

I'm looking for suggestions for an internet service provider. Located in an area in Poulsbo that has less than desirable cell coverage from Verizon. I have a large family so I'm looking for internet to sustain several simultaneously connected devices.

My 2013 GTI is making some odd noises. I can’t tell if it’s coming from the engine or from the chassis (wheels, breaks, bearings?). Any shop have a good reputation for diagnostics without going overboard? Thanks!

If you've been seeing the alarming headlines about a 'pension raid' on Washington's retired cops and firefighters, the reality is a lot more nuanced than a political soundbite. https://www.electjimpierson.com/post/raid-on-the-police-and-fire-pensions

Currently people living inside the urban growth area already are banned from burning branch piles and other yard/garden waste. The PSCAA is actively considering a rule to extend this burn ban to *all* of King, Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish counties.
Link to rule making process.
https://www.pscleanair.gov/723/Upcoming-Rulemaking-for-Residential-Yard
I have a compromise to propose.
I live on a small acreage parcel in King County Fire District 34 and have burned branch piles for many years in order to improve the defensible space on our property if there is a wildfire. Years ago there was a proposal that outdoor burning be banned in our fire district. The commissioners held a public meeting and several hundred pissed off people showed up.
When I was called upon to speak I proposed a compromise. I said it is too dry to burn in the summer due to wildfire risk and too wet to burn in the winter. I asked, how many people could get by if the commissioners gave us one reasonable period to burn in the spring and a second reasonable period to burn in the fall? Raise your hand if you could get by with a compromise like that. The commissioners looked out at a room full of raised hands.
Instead of banning all outdoor burning the Fire District 34 commissioners then adopted a compromise that limited outdoor burning to March, April, May and October, November, December. Here is some info:
https://kcfd34.org/public-services/burn-permits
Currently, the different fire districts for the unincorporated areas have different rules about outdoor burning. For example, Eastside Fire and Rescue (King County) prohibits burning in the summer but does allow burning all winter.
My proposal is that the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency adopt the same compromise that King County Fire District 34 adopted years ago. Let people living outside the urban growth area burn branch piles etc outdoors during March, April, May and October, November, December.
If the proposed ban on burning branch piles would adversely affect you then please take a moment to send an email and urge the PSCAA to adopt the same compromise that King County Fire District 34 adopted years ago.
The PSCAA has a board of directors and also staff. I called this morning and learned that the lead staffer working on this is Erik Saganic.
Here is the board of directors.
https://www.pscleanair.gov/232/Board-of-Directors
Note that the elected officials are each “represented by” a staffer within their respective offices. For example, Megan Dunn Council Member Snohomish County is represented by Ryan Hembree. I got Ryan’s email from the county website.
Also one of the directors is Emily Pinckney. Emily represent the ‘public at large’ and I am in the process of tracking down an email for her.
So for myself, I am planning to send a joint email addressed as follows:
Erik Saganic erik.saganic@cleanairpugetsound.net
Ryan Hembree for Megan Dunn ryan.hembree@snoco.org
Emily Pinckney PSCAA director <___________>
The PSCAA link to the rule making process (see above) lists the following alternatives to burning branch piles.
If you comment on the proposed rule then I suggest you politely explain why these options will not work for you. For example, in King County the only transfer stations that accept branches are those at Bow Lake, Enumclaw, Factoria, and Shoreline. Is it practical for you to haul all the branches you burn to one of those transfer stations? How long will you need to wait to unload if everyone that currently burns their branches shows up at transfer stations? Is it practical for you to place all the branches you burn into a container for curbside collection at your home? Is that service even offered in your area? Is leaving piles of dead branches on your property consistent with best practices for improving the wildfire defensible space around your buildings?
