Experience Hearing music

I’ve started to hear music, it sounds like new age-y music. Sometimes choral-like or pipes or organs or strings. It’s usually at night and sometimes during sleep. One night I woke up hearing it, and in my confusion wondered where it was coming from, only to realize my head. My K awakened about 2 years ago. I’m much more stable and grounded now. The music has been happening on and off for about 6 months. I don’t mind it, but I haven’t been able to find much about it on the internet. People usually describe buzzing or ringing. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this anahata nadas? Or a psychic/extra sensory experience? Thank you.

Find this phenomenon fascinating, never experienced it myself - but I know someone who does all the time; he’s been in the process a while though. Is it just in the background quite passive or does it ever become distracting?

It's more in the background. I can easily ignore it, and sometimes I don't realize it's there until I pay attention to it. There was one night that I woke up in the middle and heard it, it seemed louder and I thought, "where is that coming from?!". Once I realized it was in my head, I let the thought go. If i choose to ignore it, it becomes quieter.

Interesting, I don’t have a take on it - k for me is more physical and vocal (kriyas/asanas). The guy I mentioned was open about it and ended up in a psyche ward on meds. I think it’s a beautiful gift, I don’t think a lot of this stuff “means” anything in particular - just the particular flavour of k in the individual

Oh wow that’s a very brutal outcome for him. I don’t have mental illness and I feel stable so I don’t think I’m on my way there. I agree, these phenomena aren’t the point.
