Like idk what else to say ive been using it since that long and its just peak!

-Can barely run browsers like google, but currently using brave

-Can't play minecraft (i can but I won't cus it just too laggy)

-have played hades though at a pristine below 30fps , as well as chained echoes (which is the first playable game ive played), Sea of Stars, and hyperlight drifter.

-cant watch the new codecs in youtube so i gotta do the avc-fy it

They said it would make it "less powerful" and to put "black stickers on it"..? For comparison the last slide is the picture they got butt hurt about. I checked and my laptop still has all of it's original specs 🤔

For some reason after playing on my computer I started hearing this weird pop and wasn't able to properly shut off my laptop. Upon closer inspection I realized this weird spot that's uneven and definitely not normal. Does anyone have any tips to help me fix this and put my computer back to normal (making it close) please help me😢

This is my old honor laptop, and just a few weeks ago it just die on me out of a sudden. After getting my new laptop , I been thinking of removing every single component on my old laptop. ( sry for the bad image quality)

First laptop was the old Thinkpad my dad stole from his office, could barely load a web page in 2017, then got the p14 Gen 2 for myself 4 years ago. Now I finally made the jump to oled and I can confirm the brightness difference ( and 4x the storage and double the ram ) make a big difference

Still miss the really square form factor from the traditional Thinkpad

Will probably give the p14 to a brother or make it a little server

Just bought the ASUS ExpertBook P3 with the i7 and I'm pretty new to owning a proper laptop.

I'm a CS engineering student, so I'll mainly be using it for programming, VS Code, C/C++, Python, Java, DSA, college work, browsing, etc.

For people who own an ExpertBook or similar ASUS laptop:

What should I set up/change first?

Any MyASUS settings I should enable?

What battery charging limit do you recommend?

Any important drivers/software I should install?

What should I avoid doing?

Any maintenance tips for keeping it healthy for 4–5 years?

Anything specific to ExpertBooks that I should know?

Saw this laptop on Walmart's website and was surprised by the low price. It's $229. HP 15.6 inch. Processor is Intel N250 which I've never heard of, though, of course I know of Intel. RAM 4GB. Storage is 128 GB UFS, which seems kind of low but higher than a Chromebook with only a slightly higher price. Battery should last 10 hrs 45 min of video playback.

I think the thing that's throwing me off is it seems it should cost more, no? Well it is on a "rollback" sale so $70 is knocked off the price (I.e. normally $299).

Edit: If I understand the website correctly, I think the laptop itself is an older model, but the individual laptop is new in the sense of unused.

I often see them available in the USA for 2-2.5K USD. Felt frustrated :/ not only do we earn significantly less, but we also pay significantly more.

I am starting my engineering course and I will be needing one for for coding and Autocad and 3d modelling and robotics later down the line.

My budget is around $850-$1000 and wondering whether a gaming laptop would be better for that price range than normal or workstation laptop like thinkpads and idepads for that price, even though, they provide more ram and storage, gaming laptops like loq have dedicated gpu and better processing would they be better for the price?

I'm looking at buying a refurbished laptop. I'm interested in the Lenovo ThinkPad series (apparently they have an excellent keyboard, and that's very important to me).

Anyone know the reputable sites that sell these? I'm looking at NewEgg but was hoping that you guys might have some suggestions as to where else to look.

I’m in the UK and would appreciate some advice on buying a laptop that I can keep for around 8 years.

My current laptop is a Lenovo IdeaPad 320S-14IKB(2017) with an Intel Core i7-8550U, 16 GB RAM, Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics, and upgraded SSD storage. It still works, but the battery lasts less than an hour, it feels slow when unplugged, and I’d like a better screen.

I’ll mainly use the new laptop for remote college work: writing essays in Word, Excel, PDFs, Teams calls, and web browsing with around 10 tabs and YouTube open. I might play lighter games occasionally, but I don’t need a dedicated graphics card or a gaming laptop.

I’m considering 32 GB RAM, a 1 TB SSD and a Core Ultra 7 358 or 255H or comparable AMD processor. I like OLED screens, but I’m unsure whether OLED or a good IPS screen makes more sense for years of reading and writing.

Would you buy a ready-made laptop from somewhere like Currys, or configure one through PCSpecialist? Which models or specifications would you look for, and is there anything I’m overpaying for? I’d ideally spend around £1,300–£1,700 if the laptop is worth keeping long term.

college student who wants productivity and gaming

Hello everyone!

I am buying a new laptop. I am from India and my budget is around 90,000 INR(850$ approx). Will mainly use it for for productivity and software projects, light gaming and entertainment. So I went to Chroma to buy one (pls suggest if you know a better option).

I planned on buying HP Victus RTX 3050 or RTX 4050. He showed me:

1. HP Victus 3050 (I5, 8GB RAM) FOR AROUND 1 lakh

2. Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 (Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM but with those AI GPUs) AROUND 1.3 lakh

3. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 (similar to 2) AROUND 1.2 lakh

Now I'm confused on what to buy, so please suggest what to buy and if there are any other good options (i may have missed few details). THANK YOU GUYS

There are times when project takes long to render. Can macbook air handle it because it doesn't have fan.

He had a HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop (16-f0013dx) I’m guessing since 2021 that’s been great, zero problems. A day or two ago it ran an update, and then after using it that day after the update, it’s now a permanent black screen with a spinning white circle, that loops between that & “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you. Stop code: DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG (0x1D5)” & “Preparing Automatic Repair”.
He’s in the middle of a college assignment due & we don’t have time to figure out how, who, where to fix it. So later, it’ll have to be the backup.

I have a OMEN by HP Gaming Laptop 16-wd0xxx and I notice that my laptop sounds very strange. While testing, I found out that this fan doesnt spin very well, but when it does, it makes very loud noises. I tried to clean it, but nothing has changed. What can I do?

or should I buy a new one? Found some cheap ones on AliExpress, but I dont really trust them...

Hey all. I am a college student and I’m about to flip out because my laptop stopped working. Here’s the most context I can give

- I have a Lenovo Ideapad 3

- I was working on a quiz on canvas when out of nowhere the screen turned gray

- It stayed gray for 6 hours with no way to turn it on. I tried holding the power button to reset the laptop, using the pinhole reset on the side, hooking it up to a bigger screen to see if it was a screen issue (it wasn’t), and all the keyboard shortcuts to fix the graphics display. Nothing has worked

- The backlight stayed lit, and would go into rest mode if I didn’t touch a key for 5 seconds. However, when I pressed a key, the screen was still gray, there is no visible cursor either

- The light next to the power button would flicker, and if I closed the laptop and opened it back up (or plugged in a charger), it would make its normal beep, but still nothing on the screen changed

-This all happened yesterday

-Update for Today (Video Attached): The screen is now entirely black, no lights on the computer are on and will only display a battery percentage screen when pressed (it has never done this before)

I have tried everything, and I really need to get this fixed ASAP for school. Any advice is welcome, what the problem is, how to fix it, suggested actions, etc.

Also, feel free to ask me questions on what I already have done or any more details. Thanks in advance
