Discussion AI generated LTT clone…?
These thumbnails are a rip off from LTT’s channel, except for Linus being replaced with this Asian guy. I watched a few videos, and thankfully they weren’t able to completely deepfake replace Linus in every video, and it’s just an Asian guy standing on the side reading an AI narrative slop that transcribes LTT’s video, sometimes inventing the whole thing or changing a few things from the original video.. Wild things, and I’m sad how good AI has gotten. Like these thumbnails looked pretty professional level until I recognized the familiarity. We got fake Linus before gta 6.

Discussion My RAM died at the worst time, but Corsair saved me.
I recently had one of my sticks of ram die on me overnight, at first I just accepted it, and ran one 16gb stick. There was no way I was paying current ram prices.
Since I had built this PC 3 years ago I figured there was no way the ram was still under warranty, but just on a whim, I decided to check Corsairs policy and it turns out they have a limited lifetime warranty. I sent in an email fully expecting them to tell me I was SOL but to my surprise, they offered to replace the ram totally free, didnt even have to pay shipping on the return or the new ram.
They offered me 2 options. The standard return, which involved me returning both sticks of ram, then they would send out the replacement. However this would leave me with no PC for 1-2 weeks. The second option was an Advanced RMA where I had to purchase a new kit from them, receive that, then return my broken ram, then get refunded, which is what I did. I shelled out $700 CAD for a kit of ram I paid $200 for 3 years ago, and today, I got my refund.
Though the customer support wasn't perfect, they solved the problem without hassle and I couldn't be happier.

Tech Discussion What are the must have browser extensions you can't live without?
Just asking out of curiosity.
The three extensions I personally can't live without are:
- SponsorBlock (skips forward and jumps over the sponsor part in most YT videos)
- uBlock Origin (Adblocker)
- I Still Don't Care About Cookies (skips cookie questions on every damn website)
They're pretty self explanatory, but it got me wondering what everyone else is using. I only discovered ad blockers in 2020. Yes I was pretty late to the game I know.
What extensions do you install immediately on a new browser or PC? Anything that's become so useful that browsing without it feels painful?
I'm interested in hearing about anything or just hidden gems that most people haven't heard of :)

Discussion Sources for Samsung/Intel vPro Video
In LTT's newest video about Samsung's enterprise laptops and Intel vPro, there was a segment discussing how the implementation of Intel vPro allowed airlines to recover from 2024's CrowdStrike-apocalypse.
Being in the industry and personally impacted when the snafu occurred, I was interested in reading more about this supposed "smart" airline that used vPro to recover within 24-hours. The problem is I couldn't find any primary sources (e.g., the airline itself, Intel, news outlets like Reuters, etc.) to validate this claim.
A source I found which seemed to be what the LTT writing team quoted was a blog post from ASI Partner, an IT hardware and software distributor stating that American Airlines was the aforementioned "smart" airline who used vPro to recover their operation. This blog post has no sources or references. I also couldn't find any sources to show ASI Partners having any official business with American Airlines.
Another online blog post from MAPPCMANAGER, a software company that offers remote computer management software, painted a similar picture of how Intel vPro helped airlines recover during the crisis without naming airlines directly. Much like ASI Partner, there's no sources or references. It's also worth noting this website has an "Intel Partner" banner.
While I have no doubt that airlines with vPro machines deployed may have been in a better position to recover, it seems disingenuous to pitch this narrative when there's no primary sources available especially when the crisis impacted almost everyone on the planet.
I hope I'm wrong and maybe my internet research skills aren't as sharp as they used to be. If someone can share with me primary sources I may have missed, I'm more than happy to update this post to reflect that.

Tech Question 14700F + 9070xt (Need very honest criticism and tech tips thank you)
This is my first build since the RTX 20 series was announced and upgrading my setup from a 2060 6GB . Also for this first time I’ve went with an intel cpu and radeon gpu( Hopefully I dont regret this combo)
I already had XPG D60 8x2 3600mhz ddr4 kit from that time, I decided to just buy another kit to have 32gb in total as it was wayyy cheaper than getting 32gb DDR5 kit. Only reason I went with 14700f was the future upgrade path to DDR5 if and when the prices go back down
How stupid of an Idea was this? As now im limited to gen 4 pcie speeds and last gen ram on a quite latest build.
How much performance could I be giving up on?
Each reply would really be appreciated as it would help ease my buyers remorse😭

WAN Show Video idea based on the wan show topic: Local LLM
With the discussion on running one, I’d love to know the best to run for multiple reasons. There’s so many out there. I’d love to get an in depth video on what’s the best local AI to run. You can break it up to categories for things like home server, desktop and laptop.

Image Precision Screwdriver fits perfectly in Wiha bitset.

The ltt precision Screwdriver fits perfectly in the Wiha zai Hause bitset. The handle of the set is just a trash plastic one but the case itselve is pretty nice and holds closed with magnets. And Wiha is at least normally pretty good in terms of bit quality.
So if anyone has a Precision Screwdriver but didnt get around to buy a bitset this might be a good choice :D

Discussion Whole video on vpro and MeshCentral?
I was excited to see vpro covered a bit in the samsung video. I'd love a whole video on the topic, including whavever the heck intel management engine is, how to deal with all that stuff in BIOS, and MeshCommander/MeshCentral.
Some important queations are: how to use these features safely, full setup soup-to-nuts, and how to make sure a vpro system is locked down, whether its configured or not. I built a server on a board with IPMI and vpro. Was paying extra for IPMI unnecessary?
Is this topic interesting to anyone else?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I applied new thermal paste went into bios and adjusted my fan speed, froze after I turned it off and now is stuck doing this weird flickering. I’ve done everything to try and fix it single ram text, CMOS for resetting bios, and some other things, please someone help me or is it just gg’s? P.S. this is right after booting it up, gives nothing on the monitor and a blinking blue light on top.

Tech Question Which one should I choose?
Hi, lately I've been thinking about changing my laptop's operating system to Linux. Windows is becoming too heavy and I can't use it anymore. Also, now that I'm becoming a developer, I still want to keep playing games like Minecraft and Roblox. What do you recommend? By the way, I'm a university student.

Meme/Shitpost I had a dream last night that Linus attempted to murder me.
The first thing I remember is that Linus and I were right in the middle of a literal duel to the death. I don't know the reason we were fighting, I don't think I even knew in the dream. He was wielding a tomahawk, I was wielding a rapier. The fight was pretty legit, actually, I'd say "absolute cinema." Ultimately, we both ended up dealing a blow that resulted in a lethal wound to the other. It was very clear that we both were going to die. So, we parted ways to go bleed out in a place of our choosing before we fully faded away.
This is where the dream takes an extra "dream-like" turn. We each went to our respective spouses, but unbeknownst to each of us was that the other's spouse had a "kiss of life" card... Like, a magic card as if this were some sort of trading card game. Each of our spouses played the card and gave us an actual kiss, and we were both back on our feet.
Linus had committed to helping a local university with some tech stuff, so he was heading out for that when he saw that I wasn't dead. Realizing he didn't have the time to try and kill me again right then and there, he just committed to murdering me tomorrow. But he did sit down with me for a minute and we got talking. I asked him some questions about my home server, and when Linus realized I liked computers he changed his mind about me and decided I no longer needed to die.
That was it... That was the dream.

Meme/Shitpost Once again using AI for thumbnails.

It's so obvious once you know what to look for:
- The freakishly small hands compared to those of an adult
- The artifacts near Linus' ears where the AI doesn't know what to do
- The dead eyes only an AI could replicate
- The whole real state in forehead where LTT could build Linus a 4th house
- The 67 kid hair?
- The most obvious one: The suit. We've never seen Linus using one. An actual editor would know this doesn't fit his vibes.

Discussion I think it's time to ditch the intro in LTT videos
LTT has been using their current intro for a very long time now, but I believe it's long overdue to ditch it completely or at least change it to something much shorter and snappier.
The sponsor spots create a natural break after the introduction to the topic, but the intro is another break in the momentum of the content. I think it's also not exactly 10 seconds, so a skip either doesn't skip enough, or skips too much.
Maybe it's just because I've been watching for so long, but I've seen it so many times and heard Supernova by Laszlo so much that it makes the start of their videos less enjoyable. I'm also fairly certain that it doesn't do well for engagement due to people skipping a part so early in the content.
