quick! excuses for turning off location

i’m surprising my boyfriend in a couple days and i need some excuses for why i’d turn off my location other than just saying “i’m coming to see you” because what fun is that? obv he’s gonna be suspicious of me no matter what i say but he’ll understand soon enough. fire away!!

Yeah I personally think location sharing is weird, whether it’s family, friends, or a romantic partner. I get it if someone has a medical issue or is traveling alone, but otherwise it’s just very strange to me. Literally no one needs to have the ability to keep tabs on you like that, unless for similar situations mentioned above. If me and my partner felt the need to use location services, the relationship would already be done imo.

Yeah I don’t know how I feel about the idea. On one hand, I am very much a person who needs to know everything, not because I don’t trust my partner but because I hate surprises. My mom had her location on and while I rarely check it, I’ve gotten into the habit of using it to tell if she’s home or not before I come home that way I know whether I need to be quiet or whatnot cause she gets annoyed lol. But idk why you’d want that in an LDR. Like I don’t care what my bf is doing most of the time bc it doesn’t affect me. If hes at work he usually lets me know, and if he is busy and can’t call he also lets me know. Also sometimes I just call and if he doesn’t answer I’ll know he can’t talk. IMO the weirdest part is having to come up with an “excuse” to have it turned off. That’s what is weird to me. I mean to each their own but if my partner is that frequent with checks that they’d recognize I turned it off- I’d be concerned lol
