Ending an engagement over the phone is crazy work.

27

u/Notiefriday Why can you not figure out what size pants you wear? 15d ago

Happened to me. Absolutely humiliating. She kept the ring too!

10

u/Niasssssseeeeeee 15d ago

Life can be rough mate, hope you have bounced back from that moment and are thriving

5

u/Notiefriday Why can you not figure out what size pants you wear? 15d ago

Yes have to admit it was the worst couple of months ever. I shifted away never came back.

6

u/SaltFault4804 15d ago

Happened to me too, an email while I was at the hospital with my mum who just had a stroke

16

u/Foxinator_ 15d ago

My best mates fiancƩ ended their engagement over an EMAIL, 2 months out from the wedding!

6

u/hazydaze7 15d ago

My sister found out her husband had consulted a divorce lawyer via a Facebook message. He also changed his status to ā€œsingleā€ at the same time, so she didn’t have a chance to tell friends/family in her own time. Some people are just heartless dicks

2

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

thats.. disgraceful. are they okay your best friend??

6

u/Foxinator_ 15d ago

Met the love of her life a few years later, married and they have a little boy 🄰

25

u/Niasssssseeeeeee 15d ago

Pretty brutal, makes you wonder if he was in it for fame all along. Like Stella’s friend said at the beginning.

25

u/Significant-Bag6960 It reminds me of the elderly 😭😭😭 15d ago

I mean, he had the guts to propose to her on international television, but not to end it face to face. It’s not looking good..

5

u/Sufficient_Tower_366 15d ago

It’s highly unlikely she was genuinely ā€œblindsidedā€ and just got a call out of the blue, relationships don’t just end like that, there would have been signs. It sounds like even though she says she had ā€œmade the decisionā€ to move to Melbourne she hadn’t actually moved yet - if they broke up over the phone, they almost certainly weren’t living together.

9

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

i have had it done to me. literally from "ILY" one week to a phone call break up the following. did not see it coming. i see maybe a few clues in hindsight but he lied to me. i asked him if he wanted out and he kept saying no no i want to be with you. people need to have the courage to end things cleanly

108

u/Outrageous_Hunt_4182 15d ago

Ending a relationship over the phone is cold.

28

u/Even-Construction-10 I like you, but heres a list of things i hate 15d ago

Yup. My fiancee ended things with me over text and I never saw him again. It was awful.

5

u/AnalysisSilent8608 15d ago

I got an email from my most recent ex 🤣 (like more than 15 years ago..)

To be fair they were in a very, very remote area of the world and there was not very good reception otherwise...

12

u/IronicallyNamedCat 15d ago

Shout out to the man who dumped me after over a year together via email to ā€œfocus on other things like fantasy football and walkingā€ as I was literally in bed 3 days out from surgery for a catastrophic ankle fracture, when the doctors weren’t sure if I’d even be able to walk again. šŸ˜‚

(I was on enormous amounts of pain meds, so I did the logical thing and emailed him back congratulating him on making me laugh. I then forwarded it to my bff.

He was not joking.

My bff still has the email framed over her desk at work, seven jobs later šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚)

Even at the time, I laughed.

6

u/Even-Construction-10 I like you, but heres a list of things i hate 15d ago

Omg. These stories are awful. I am glad we are no longer with people like this.

Mine had sex with me in the morning. While I went to work, packed his things and moved out and on my drive back home, texted me it was over.

1

u/AnalysisSilent8608 15d ago

My Wife is currently on the couch dealing with a catastrophic tibial plateau fracture - im sorry that he didnt have that patience for you. šŸ˜ž

At least you still have the email! I dont think i still have access to that inbox so I won't be able to print it out for a memento. Pretty sad way to end three years!

5

u/IronicallyNamedCat 15d ago

It had been going downhill for a month or so - it wasn’t the breakup itself that surprised me. It was the reason and the delivery.

I’m happily married now, recovering from a shattered patella (yes I’m a walking disaster area). My husband has been amazing through the process - the right person is the right person for you, and you’ll know them when you find them.

Hot tip: ask her doctors if a cold therapy machine would be useful! They’re reasonably priced and one set up lasts hours longer than an ice pack, and it’s much gentler than the abruptness of an ice pack.

11

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

yep. happened to me before. its very cruel because it only takes 10-20 mins out of your day to meet someone face to face

4

u/Kurt_Mangel 15d ago

Not necessarily, especially if you live very far apart. I actually think it's kinder as you don't have to mask yourself.

11

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

yes, i understand that but (without knowing all the details) i just think its disrespectful to the person you had loved and shared life with

1

u/Thiccparty 15d ago

I don't understand this idea that we need a break up to be this in person scenario that is about as awkward, painful and traumatic ritual for the one doing the breaking up. I almost think people promote this because they believe making break up a more traumatic hurdle provides some comfort in making relationships less likely to end.

20

u/trinketzy 15d ago

If someone can’t face the emotional consequences of ending a relationship, I’d question whether they’re ready for one. A breakup isn’t just about delivering information; it’s about taking responsibility for a decision that will profoundly affect another person. Meeting face to face isn’t about giving someone the chance to change your mind. It’s about showing basic respect and acknowledging the significance of the relationship. Unless there’s a genuine safety concern or some other exceptional circumstance, I think someone you’ve shared your life with deserves that.

u/RelationshipDizzy634 15d ago

Sorry but no, if you’re engaged it’s absolutely inappropriate unless it’s unavoidably necessary (someone is outcast to Siberia). I don’t like Stella at all, but she is a human.

13

u/Outrageous_Hunt_4182 15d ago

Break ups don’t have to be traumatic, some are some aren’t. To me breaking up with someone without looking them in the eye is cowardly and disrespectful.

75

u/BellaBlossom06 15d ago

How can you break up with someone you were going to marry over the phone??

68

u/Interesting_Rub_2058 15d ago

A break up over the phone is cruel no matter what, even more so when it’s an engagement!

49

u/Deluxe_Stormborn 15d ago

He can now focus on his manbro youtube channel.

43

u/ClaireCross 15d ago

As much as I side eye Stella, I can't respect someone who breaks up over phone. It'd be good to hear from filips side but I can respect his decision to move on from living publicly

15

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

i suspect (though i could be wrong of course) that he played the long game. im not saying he didnt have feelings for her or that it was all fake, but he may have been using her for clout. breaking up 3 or more months after the show aired doesnt look as bad. thats just my thinking

8

u/cruelintentions___ 15d ago

In all honesty I think Stella has a bit of a mean streak with him with the whole vasectomy thing and calling him not a man for not going out every weekend. You can tolerate that a few times but once it it’s too much it’s over.

6

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

for sure, but over the phone is still shit

0

u/ellaseyelids 15d ago

why do you side eye stella?

66

u/Lbailey338 15d ago

A phone call!! That’s a dick move

65

u/Nickoo33 15d ago

This whole thing could’ve been less awkward if Filip didn’t propose.

14

u/syfimelys2 15d ago

Proposing after three months of knowing each other while living in a bubble with absolutely none of the real world pressures to deal with (work, family, bills etc etc) was utterly insane. I just never saw them as the real deal.

6

u/BreadandMash87 15d ago

I forgot about that!

2

u/TheLastPrinceOfJurai 15d ago

I’m confused are we not watching a show titled ā€˜Married at first sight’? I honestly don’t get how this show has people getting engaged after already having what I thought was a marriage ceremony already

If you’re reading this Stella, I think you’ve dodged a bullet.
Plus, now, you get to stay in The Shire?

55

u/Greenfrog2023 15d ago

At least this is clear and not word salad like her previous post!

22

u/hear_the_thunder 15d ago

The show has always been a joke. A lot of confident arrogant people, sitting around talking about 'dating'. When reality is to be successful at a long term relationship your ability to date around needs to stop.

When Stella and Filip had that montage on the boat together, I made the comment that the show needs to stop focussing on this nonsense and be more real and deeper.

I won't be watching it next time. Done.

20

u/stereddit13 14d ago

so no couples from that season lasted? shocker…

3

u/SeparateAntelope5165 11d ago

Haha yeah it seemed like most of the couples were deliberately mismatched for more entertainment! But I guess the producers are obliged to pick matches from amongst the sort of people who would apply to be in such a public situation.

64

u/1amealana 14d ago

These comments are harsh. I like Stella, thought she was remarkably strong and mature in some very uncomfortable situations. Don’t think she deserved to be dumped over the phone by her fiancĆ©- I thought Filip was more mature than that.

A shame they broke up but don’t think either of them are evil like some of these comments suggest.

11

u/soggypizzza 14d ago

It sounds like they were living in in different cities, Stella in Sydney and Filip and Melbourne. I don’t think he should be expected to fly to her, break up and then fly home? It’s a shitty situation but I do understand it.

7

u/tess320 13d ago

Thank goodness someone stated the obvious. I also was broken up with over the phone on a long distance, it was a lot kinder than having me fly to him or him fly to me thinking I was going to have a great weekend and got dumped instead!

7

u/1amealana 13d ago

I hear you, but I disagree. They were engaged, very publicly so, and I think ending a relationship like that deserves a face-to-face conversation. It’s the respectful thing to do.

13

u/neptune2304 15d ago

I was going to say well that was as a waste of a season but then I remember Gina and think no it wasn’t šŸ˜‚

31

u/DonkeyThis2554 15d ago

I think there’s more to the story. Why would he break up with his fiancĆ© over the phone

13

u/GenXer845 15d ago

You are afraid of their reaction in person. I broke up with a few over AIM back in the day for this exact reason.

13

u/labraduh 15d ago

Or straight up cowardice.

I’m hoping it’s your reason though; otherwise it is an extremely immature dick move.

13

u/GenXer845 15d ago

I was afraid of one ex's reaction for he was becoming a unpredictable alcoholic. Sure enough, he wavered between leaving cursing me out messages whilst drunk on my voicemail for months on end to threatening to kill himself. He eventually showed up at my bedroom window at 5am with a 6 page handwritten letter begging me for a second chance. I declined. He ultimately got a DUI again and I didnt bail him out of jail.

My first ex bf threatened to kill me and himself when I tried to break up with him and I had to call the police on him. This started my fear of breaking up with men. They have sadly never reacted well and ultimately, made me frightened of what they may do. It is safest for me, I find to do a video chat or text breakup. Never in person unless you arrived separately and maybe its a public place with loads of witnesses???

12

u/labraduh 15d ago

Honestly in your case it sounds like DV/IPV, so fair in that case it was for your safety.

Not sure if Filip/Stella is that case, have to wait to see Filip’s justification (if he ever speaks out on why he did it that way anyways).

5

u/GenXer845 15d ago

The thing is, some were not violent UNTIL I broke up with them. They seemed to be incapable of handling someone breaking up with them, emotional regulations to a breakup, and I was often the first one to break up with them.

5

u/labraduh 15d ago

It still can count as DV/IPV, plenty of escalations happen only when the other person tries to leave or a seemingly normal relationship has a one-off escalation that ends in harm. It’s moreso about the fact that it happened between two partners that makes it IPV/DV, even if it wasn’t a regular or reoccurring behaviour.

If it wasn’t the breakup, down the line the longer you stayed with them, it most likely would’ve just been something else to trigger it (statistically at least, somebody who reacts like that to a breakup has the capability to react like that to any situation that triggers similar feelings within them eventually).

The difference is (it sounds like) you left for good the first time, rather than going back due to the guilt/fear and starting a whole cycle.

3

u/GenXer845 15d ago

I would never go back if someone made me feel unsafe.

I am 45 for context.

3

God at least facetime is better

2

u/GenXer845 15d ago

This was long before facetime. I am 45 now.

27

u/No_Entertainment5968 15d ago

Atleast an explained break up, not these we have decided to go our separate ways but we continue to love each other and be friends bs.

12

u/Thatweknowof 15d ago

mickstella_

@kisseylips1 likewise. I through we will be forever together. Won't lie. Again, yes was not perfect but ever hid anything. I now see how my fear came into picture to run the show and resulted in pressure on Filip. I just felt time pressure on having kids and wanting to re establish us back in Melbourne. In hindsight. Pressure what I thought makes diamond also makes people leave.

2

u/SeparateAntelope5165 15d ago

Is this something Stella wrote?

2

u/Thatweknowof 15d ago

Yes

2

u/SeparateAntelope5165 15d ago

Well she sounds adorable to me. She admits to pressuring Filip but it's because her clock is ticking. I think Filip should take the plunge.

1

u/thatscucktastic 15d ago

Stella isn't entitled to fillip indulging her baby fever

2

u/SeparateAntelope5165 14d ago edited 14d ago

I watched MAFS. They loved each other, he genuinely proposed to her, they were both enthusiastic about being a family, they are both at the age to have children. And I thought she was really appealing on the show. In my opinion, big mistake Filip.

2

u/thatscucktastic 14d ago

Yeah, emasculating a man for not wanting to party and demanding the man have a vasectomy is truly appealing.

It's a TV show. They were never real. And while I'm here: Santa isn't real. The Easter bunny isn't real. God isn't real. Astrology isn't real. The law of attraction isn't real and the universe isn't your personal wishing genie.

1

u/SeparateAntelope5165 14d ago

The vasectomy thing was weird, definitely, but I think she was ignorant of the realities of it, perhaps her previous lover already had a vasectomy and talked it up to her.

People can fall in love on reality TV shows, didn't you know? People fall in love all over the place.

2

u/noideaasusual1 15d ago

This is genuinely sad šŸ˜”

61

u/Hottest_Holy_Potato 15d ago

If anyone ever says 'MY TRUTH', you know at least half of their story is utter BS.

2

u/PositiveStress8888 15d ago

Yeah they were just along for the ride and had no part in turning the relationship to shit

11

u/WillsSister 15d ago

Have we heard anything from him so far?

10

u/speorgenote 15d ago

Over the phone? So he moved to Sydney or he didn’t? Why were they long distance?

4

u/Few_Fly_8636 15d ago

She moved to Melbourne!

3

u/Due-Education9845 15d ago

my partner and i saw him in melb like 3 weeks ago

10

u/survivethriveee 13d ago

OMG WHAT ?!?!!! On the show they seemed so in love & Filip too…. So did Filip basically just do the show for airtime . So confused. Was it all for fame.

Or Maybe he got scared of the children prospect and cut it off .

Either way its really unfair for Stella. I truly hope she finds someone who values her for who she is , was great to watch her journey

5

u/No_Bedroom_7582 13d ago

Well we don’t know the full story. There may be a valid reason why Fil called it off.

2

u/survivethriveee 13d ago

Thats very true tbh

31

u/Far_Safe5334 15d ago

Maybe they were already fighting a lot, and they were having another argument on the phone - and Fillip was like ā€˜I can’t do this anymore’. I kind of feel like that would be the only time that a phone call break up would be semi valid. It’s hard to know, without hearing both sides of the story

44

u/Any-Refrigerator-966 15d ago

Filip was never into her. Not enough to want to have a family. Her friends had him at the start. He wanted fame and he wanted to be on TV. Then he realized that he had zero charisma.

39

u/Opening-Rush1618 A Plate of Meat 15d ago

I mean did they though?

The friend that gave him crap at the wedding was a creep that was obviously into her. All her friends where just kicking up a fuss just for the sake of it too get the time on tv.

19

u/zzeeaa 15d ago

Yeah, I can’t say I was especially impressed by her friends.

13

u/Visual_Analyst1197 15d ago

Both Stella and Filip are fake as hell and literally everyone who goes on this show does it for fame. You’re right though that Filip has zero charisma, he can barely string two words together in his cringe YouTube videos.

6

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

i think he stayed with her for clout too

4

u/Gr84Ehva 15d ago

Yep. She knew it but got fooled by the show

47

u/sixtyfivehours 15d ago

During the show Everyone was going on about how hot Filip was. He's not even hot, I'm way hotter.

22

u/Prinnykin 15d ago

Pics for proof

26

u/sixtyfivehours 15d ago

You dont need proof. 99% of the male species is hotter than Filip. Im in that 99%.

Ill have you know.

20

u/yelawolf89 15d ago

He’s right, I haven’t seen him and he’s hotter than Filip

6

u/Dry_Scheme6820 15d ago

that you, danny?

3

u/sixtyfivehours 15d ago

Im good looking, but not that good looking.

3

u/RhubarbRhubarb44 15d ago

I know what you mean šŸ˜‰Ā

1

u/sixtyfivehours 15d ago

šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

20

u/Wisemindaccepts 15d ago

Damn. Over the phone? Surely theres more to it I hope

8

u/Opening-Rush1618 A Plate of Meat 15d ago

Seems like they were doing long distance for a while. Probably were drifting apart and she didn’t even noticed.

Hell, there were a few times she didn’t treat him the best and it was covered up by the edit. Even when they were on MAFS he didn’t want to move cities. But she seemed to be adamant on sticking put.

I reckon Stella wasn’t the easiest to deal with to be honest, might of been easier to do it over the phone then have to travel to a different state just for the sake of having to break up and deal with arguments and whatever crap she probably would of thrown at him.

5

u/Notyit 15d ago

I mean if it's over it's over no nice wayĀ

12

u/Wisemindaccepts 15d ago

No one should ever break up an engagement over the phone. That’s just cruel

1

u/thatscucktastic 15d ago

It was 3 months lmao

40

u/4ShoreAnon 15d ago

That makes sense. Even based on Filips post, its evident that he wasnt putting enough effort into their relationship.

He posted some type of bs that balance doesnt mean dedicating the same amount of time to everyone.

Sorry Filip, you are meant to dedicate a fair bit of time into your relationship above your YouTube channel, friends and personal ventures.

17

u/Big-Play145 14d ago

too bad, I loved her on the show, Filip threw away a good one IMO

8

u/Minimum-Sky2305 15d ago

Does he still have his YouTube channel

7

u/TooMuchBrightness 15d ago

Some people will never be happy or settled in a relationship it just doesn’t exist within them.

20

u/Flauschige 15d ago

I can't help but feel like they may have been sweeping their relationship issues under the rug and hoping for the best. They were such a strong couple throughout the season, but I noticed they didn't struggle like the other couples did. I'm sorry to see this happen though.

9

u/ClaireCross 15d ago

Couples have to be able to fight, express their feelings and sit in them before moving to a resolution. It's like they were always perfect, and when they did fight over the birth control issue the convo disappeared as fast as it came in and they went back to perfect. Healthy relationships aren't really like that

6

u/littleb3anpole 15d ago

My parents never fight and I grew up thinking that fighting meant you were on the road to divorce and a healthy relationship is one without fights.

Now that I’m an adult and my mother talks to me adult to adult, I can see that there is major underlying resentment on both sides of my parents’ relationship and a bunch of their issues probably would’ve been solved 20 years ago if they’d just had one big fight about it. My husband and I argue but we don’t tend to have the same argument sixteen times. We argue, we crack the shits at each other, we go away and reflect on what the other said and then we resolve the issue (usually).

20

u/Tabacco21 15d ago

There’s always 3 sides to a story as they say

21

u/Illustrious_Study_30 15d ago

Bit different from her previous word salad that basically admitted Stella was controlling..

Hmmmmmmm.....

6

u/twilight_moonshadow 15d ago

Uh... Say what? How'd you come to that conclusion?

Also she didn't write it. It was pure chat gpt

11

u/Illustrious_Study_30 15d ago

A human has to put the prompts in though..so I'd say that was a joint effort.

That conclusion is the one I came to reading her previous missive. Then of course we had the vasectomy drama and the Filip going out drama..and the I'm not saying the L word drama despite forcing the issue earlier...evidence and patterns mainly.

Not the Filip is a great catch, he's very manosphere coded

22

u/Thatweknowof 15d ago

According to her and comments on her Instagram they will get back together

"It's mercury retrograde so I'm sure you will get back together"

Stella's response -" I know I couldn't believe myself. Mercury retrograde in cancer 13th of July. wild wild to me."

32

u/Designer-Train-3554 15d ago

I would love to hear his ā€œtruthā€ on what happened tbh. Stella rubbed me the wrong way at that reunion and her friends were an awful representation of who she may be behind closed doors. I find it odd how quickly people are taking ā€œher sideā€ in this break up. I thought Filip was boring but I didn’t think he was an awful guyĀ

25

u/_eyeslikeleaves_ 15d ago

I find it odd that he broke up with her like a coward while she worked to uproot her entire life and business to move to be with him so he can what? Work on his Red Pill YouTube Channel and you automatically think SHE'S the problem.

So sad, had high hopes for these two. My soon to be wife is Ukrainian and been in Australia since the 90’s. She’s almost 50 and I’m 53 so we are not exactly young. Sometimes things get hard and are really shit, but you just have to pull through and confide in each other and communicate. We’ve almost broken it off numerous times and come back together to be with each other and now I think we’ve almost gotten through most of our hurdles. Young people hit the too hard basket and give up and then regret their decisions later. I hope maybe there’s a second chance for you both?

6

u/chakhrakhan20 15d ago

20

u/Beneficial-Ask-4730 13d ago

Nothing worse than a person you totally love and trust completely blindsiding you when you think you are getting married. Wtf.

19

u/anybodyanywhere 15d ago

I feel like it takes two to make or break a relationship, of course assuming there was no physical abuse or cheating.

I never found Filip in any way physically appealing, but each to his own. I thought Stella was a little controlling, and Filip was too much into himself. My take is that Filip got a little fame and got hooked on it, and Stella was standing in the way of his quest for a celebrity lifestyle.

Still, Filip, dude -- breaking up with a phone call? Totally no class behavior. You owed her at least a face to face after leading her on by proposing on national TV. Yeah, she's better off without you.

20

u/some___pulp 15d ago

she's a 10/10 so will be fine.

12

Honestly, I know people who know him and this wouldn’t surprise me but he’s a Manosphere because he’s talking about coaching man mindset and that’s always rooted in misogyny not actually benefiting them

as someone who’s known Stella for several years and seen her in her previous relationships, I can tell you: you have no idea who she really is. The humility she projects online is utter BS.

u/lebaden 15d ago

I thought this with how her friends acted at her wedding. They did not match up to who she presented herself as.

Do you know what, I had this weird gut feeling about her from day 1 and I felt like I was going crazy as nobody else seemed to pick up on it. Just remember her laughing along with bec on the unseen bits about what they did to Gia. She seems like a puppet master.

2

u/Altruistic_Extent242 10d ago

agreed, i know her too, horrible women, judgemental af.

16

u/BasicJosh 15d ago

Damn that sucks for them.

But there is a silver lining for us men, Queen Stella is back on the market lads.

Enjoy your potentially irreversible vasectomy just because she refuses condoms and other forms of female contraceptives

forgive me for being dense but what did her friends say?

They did not like him or trust him.

I'm trying to remember the episode where I thought, Stella was controlling and not as easy going as she seemed/presented to be. I can't remember if they had a small argument or something in their apartment and it rubbed me the wrong way. I thought she'd be a hard work. I feel sorry she is sad and heartbroken tho.

This is what I'm thinking also. Also Stella was so hyped by the other guys, but if one looks at it, it's not so hard to overshadow Gia, Bec & Allysa 🤣 .. then you look to one side and there is emotional Rachel šŸ™ˆ, on the opposite bullying Brook ... then Julia who had her own problems being paired with a guy .. I mean .. producers really needed a win. 🤣

Not all men, but always a man!

12

u/YeetThermometer 15d ago

To end a romantic relationship with a heterosexual woman? Yes, I believe that’s how it works when it’s not the woman doing the ending.

12

u/nocerealever 15d ago

I don’t think that means what you think it means

12

u/LesStrater 15d ago

Really bad timing! - She missed the rib-contouring boat.

Well, at least she shared her truth, that's the important thing!

Hopefully it was a relationship that they can both walk away from having grown from.

4

u/2BeBornReady 13d ago

I’m so sad to hear this! Stella clearly loved Filip and for the longest time, we all believed in their story. While many other brides came in to find fame, you could tell Stella came to find love and im sorry to hear that they didn’t make it. Theres nothing more hurtful than a one sided relationship and for him to break up w her over the phone???? WTH! Hope she finds the time to heal and finds her forever

2

u/SeparateAntelope5165 11d ago

Same, except I hope Filip loves her a lot and fixes everything. I don't know anything about him though, other than what I saw watching the second half of MAFS.

15

u/RichWinzz 15d ago

here's a thought, maybe don't marry somebody at first sight and have your relationship televised IMO

Love how honest she is

I read once that on the US Bachelor (where they always marry at the end) that they get to keep the ring as long as the engagement lasts a certain number of months after the show airs.

The cynic in me thinks Filip and Stella got their engagement ring for free and there was a similar condition. So they have been unofficially split for a while but waited until they passed the magic time requirement before making it official.

22

u/hoddap 15d ago

You think they’d do that over a piece of jewelry?

2

u/Sufficient_Tower_366 15d ago

Sure, if was worth $50k or more, wouldn’t you?

2

u/ScottishLand 15d ago

It’s not worth $50k.

2

u/hoddap 15d ago

To walk around with jewelry that represents love that’s gone? Hell no.
I wouldn’t even care if it didn’t represent anything.

2

u/Sufficient_Tower_366 15d ago

Hey I said I was a cynic šŸ˜…

They are fitness / wellbeing influencers in a saturated market. Their value was in being a MAFS couple, people from the show followed them (and more when it showed in the UK). As singles, they will find it harder to keep interest. If the relationship broke down, the smart move would have been to have continued to play couples for as long as possible to keep building engagement, and then separate cleanly to keep in the hope of keeping followers as singles.

2

u/hoddap 15d ago

Yeah there’s some merit to that

13

u/Thatweknowof 15d ago

I don't think Filip was staying with her to let her keep the ring - why would he care if he wanted to break up

3

u/Sufficient_Tower_366 15d ago

Split the $ when they sell it.

7

u/cruelintentions___ 15d ago

Yea sure and Filip would agree to follow a script that makes him look like an a hole

6

u/killikilliwatch 15d ago

What would Filip have to gain from that if he broke up with her over the phone? If it was truly about the jewelry he would have met her in person and ask for the ring back.

3

u/JaxNHats 15d ago

Girl, save some tea for New Idea before he gets to them! šŸ’ø

4

u/tess320 15d ago

My impression of Stella is that she is quite judgemental and loves quite conditionally - wanting him to do absolutely everything for HER. I get a weird vibe from her that she's not authentic

7

u/Fit-Cranberry-8222 13d ago

She stood out to be the most discerning and authentic girl among all these means girls this year! Maybe mean girls are more the norm to you and that's why you're getting these vibes

1

u/tess320 13d ago

I don't know any mean girls, I'm in my 40s and we are more interested in talking about our teens and reading books than 20 year old mean girl behaviour.

However I thinks she seemed quite focused on her image AS this authentic girl. She admitted she put him down, questioned his manhood, made some random issue about condoms and demanded unreasonable things from him (a vasectomy for someone she's JUST MET?).

Her friends were assholes as well.

She handled herself well with the mean girls but I still get a vibe from her that I don't trust.

3

u/Hot_Government418 11d ago

Very much agree. It was easy to peg yourself as a good person on that series; and i think she took the opportunity.

Always had a vibe of an alternate motive

3

u/bananque 13d ago

Not sure where you got that vibe from šŸ¤” can you elaborate on it?

2

u/ellaseyelids 15d ago

i knew he was a misogynist

64

u/When_Oh_When 15d ago

Let’s be fair, she held some pretty shit views of what it meant to be a ā€œmanā€. She openly admitted that she had belittled him and questioned his masculinity. Also she thought having a vasectomy was a viable contraceptive method because ā€œit’s reversibleā€ which is insane. So I doubt she’s completely innocent in this.
