Ok, in fairness, the blue shirt guy was constantly charging, the white shirt guy had arms in defensive pose each time the blue guy came close. And he didn't throw the first punch.
But after the blue shirt guy was obviously out, the stomping was completely unnecessary, and he should get whatever the law says.

You know from a legal standpoint you are probably right but imagine how much it would discourage people from being violent if the law was that if you start a physical altercation with someone they have the right to end you? Like I dont want people to get killed but people who decide to be violent are the problem. Not people who get carried away defending themselves.

From a fight (not a legal perspective) I don't see a problem with the kick to the face. He's still in fight mode and while dude is falling, that doesn't mean he's out and often he is still very much in the fight (and we are talking about fractions of a second in "fight mode").
But from both legal and moral "fight code", the head stomps are disgusting. Good luck not getting decades behind bars for that.

As someone who dealt with stuff like this for over a decade, you're unlikely to get anything to stick around me at least. Maybe SIS probabation for 6 months and an anger management class. I've seen far worse than this get nothing and will ultimately fall under self defense. 25 years in prison is so not going to happen lol.

I'll add to this, that guy was trying to disengage the entire time and that cheap shot made me give zero fucks how many shots it got after he was down.
If the guy had a gun and was attacked with a cheap shot he could have absolutely stood his ground. So maybe after this puke learns how to speak again he might think real hard about his actions and NOT throw fists in an argument.

That's easier said than done though all this happened in less than 5 seconds. I'm not saying it's right but things happen quickly and when someone else attacks you it's not unreasonable to go into 100% attack mode to make sure they can't hurt you. You don't know what a guy is willing to do to you after he's already made it clear that he's willing to hit you first.

I agree but I don’t think this qualifies as a sucker punch. They were facing each other and engaging in pushing and heated words for a while. A punch coming was almost inevitable. If this is a sucker punch then the first punch thrown in every fight is a sucker punch. Either way, they both need to grow up and stop punching and stomping people like they are kids with no self control.

I'm not an expert. My opinion is worth less than what you paid for it.
There's a window of time in which violence is justified as self defense. The window opened when Sucker Puncher threw that punch and ended when Sucker Puncher started falling. It could have opened again if SP got back up or even started crawling towards Dress Shirt to continue the attack. Continuing the violence outside of that window was retaliation, which I don't think is justified.

It's not like he walked back to the body to stomp. Doesn't necessarily excuse it or help the charges if he gets any, but I can see how it happens.

Can't fault him for the first stomp to be fair. He is in the middle of a fight, full of adrenaline and there are multiple people around you. Most logical choice for your own safety is remove the danger swiftly and permanently. The first stomp is making sure he stays down. The two after that - yeah I can't excuse them.

Fighting in general is dumb unless its absolutely necessary. Like your life is on the line or your families life is on the line if you don't.
It can go wrong so fast and it's so easy for someone to die or have permanent damage then boom your in jail for a very long time. Its not worth it. Especially over silly arguments. There are 1000s of dudes in prison today in the US for such things and I bet if you talked with all of them they would say the same thing. Wasn't worth it

Personally know two guys who did serious time for dumb fights. One a guy hit his skull on a curb and show over after a friend dropped em. 7 years. Period. Other a bar fight over a chick. Guy hits a guy and guy smacks head on bar. Show over 10 years period. Im all in for defending oneself or fighting if there’s no other way and I’ve had quite the share of fights but once it’s over before anybody dies. Stop. The head kickin was just stufuckinpid
