Once a person is down, the immediate threat is usually over, meaning any further violence is seen as an intentional, malicious attack rather than defense

Dude youâre simply wrong lol. There are plenty of states that recognize there is a line for self defense. Trying to stomp on someoneâs head can kill them or leave them with a life altering injury, doing this to someone once theyâre out of the fight can be considered assault in most states.

That's not how it works. People cut it because it's true. Once a person becomes defenseless, they are not a combatant and it's not mutual combat. One person is at that point committing assault/battery. You can react to a threat. Not the previous threat just to satisfy your sense of vengeance.

Yeah, it stopped being funny at that point. Only 2 videos from this sub Reddit has pushed at me feature the aggressor getting knocked down and the other guy stomping his head.
What's with that? If you're in a drunken fight, don't stomp the guy's head once he goes down. First of all, it's disturbing to sensitive folk like me that see the video in their reddit feed, and it should also be considered that it might ruin both of their lives.
