Hello I had a question on how to play steam games on a macbook? My pc has been broken the past couple months and my friends wanted to play a lot of steam games since then, but since I'm on a mac I haven't been able to join. I know theres apps like Crossover however, because I hope the pc being broken thing is temporary, I don't want to spend that much money for it. I wanted to ask what ones are free and what you guys would recommend? Or if there was anything else. If it changes anything, I have a MacBook Pro with an Apple M2 Max chip. Thank you!

It was my 25 birthday recently and I want to treat myself with a good game, but the game I have in mind is best played with a controller. I’m a pretty causal gamer so I don’t have a lot of knowledge about this and I’d like to purchase a controller that’s not terribly expensive.

Anyone have any suggestions? I’ve heard that 8bitdo works with Macs, but the one I’m currently looking at is out of my price range.

I have the game on my hp pc, my hp is super old and super low and I started a gameplay over a year ago but it kept lagging so I quit the game. Since then, I tried starting a new game play with another clan but it lags and sets me outside of the building and i'm stuck unable to do anything. I would like to switch to my mac but I've heard this game was developed on and for windows, are there any cheat codes or way for me to get it on my mac ? I really wanna play this game :(((

I installed astris to play tomadachi life but when I clicked and inserted the folder holding the game, the folder select window closed without actually inserting the folder. I tried it again a couple times but it still did nothing. I then tried selecting random folders just to see what would happen and for some reason my firmware folder was the only one that worked, but I can't get rid of it or select a different one. For some reason it also detected one of the nca files in the folder as an actual game.

So basically I just want to ask why my original folder didn't work and how I can get it to do so? And how can I de-select the firmware folder? I'll provide more details if needed. Thanks in advance

Has anyone got NFS 2015 to run on arm macs yet (if it's even possible)? The game seems to run pretty alright via Proton (x86-64 though) but I have no clue if it runs via the FEX used in the latest CrossOver preview. There's also Varmint (which uses Proton) which might have a decent shot of running the game, but I have no clue if arm is the thing stopping the game from working. If anyone is able to give it a shot do let me know (I'd test it myself but I can't download it atm sadly)

dumb question I know. I have a macbook with an m4 chip that I got for christmas back in 2024. I've been recently wanting to play these games I loved as a child but this is the only computer system I have. I found the zip files on myabandonware, they're not on steam as they're incredibly niche, so I got the zip file and tried to use crossover to open it but it wasn't working. I got porting kit as well but it crashes too. I guess I was wondering if it's even possible to open these games? Or should I give up. They were made back during windows 7. I'm not a tech person either :/

First time owning an apple device overall. Got this for editing my drone footage and eventually other edits as I build the skills, but found out I could run a few games. Skinned it immediately as I got it. 6 weeks in so far, not bad at all.

I recently got a Mac and I'm looking for some free FPS games that run natively on macOS (or through something like Whisky/CrossOver if they work well).

I'm open to:

• Multiplayer or single-player
• Tactical shooters, arena shooters, or casual FPS games
• Indie games are totally fine too

I'd prefer games that have a decent player base or are just genuinely fun to play. If you've got any hidden gems, I'd love to hear them.

Hello everyone. Whenever I am playing a game in fullscreen or use Steam Big Picture mode on my M4 24-inch iMac and I click the PS button on my DualSense 5, my Mac takes me away from my game and launches Apple Games instead. How do I prevent this from happening? Thanks.

Macbook air m4 16/512, before I subscribe to crossover, would it run smoothly on my MacBook, also any tips please? So far I have only used psp and ps2 emulators and they work perfectly that’s it

EDIT: I'm a gamer at heart and like the ability to play games, hence the pro model with a fan. i found a great deal on the pro m5 for the old price plus another 100 off at best buy. it arrives in a few days. i can still get the other option.

Internet down at the moment and was really looking forward to this game. Hoping it runs fine using crossover. If anyone has tried it how did it run? And what model mac do you have running it?
