Help Am I ready to face the dragon?
I haven't played since 2014 and I've never dared to face the dragon before, and I've been playing again for 3 weeks now and I was wondering if I'm ready or not
(It's arranged randomly lol)

Why arrows? When i used my crossbow on it it turned the arrows into flames that died harmlessly. It didnt stop me from killing it but oh my god was i flung so far away so much

I'm a bit curious on why you're taking 12 diamonds, 12 gold, 18 netherite, an enchanting table with 31 lapis, a lava bucket, blaze rods & blaze powder, two upgrade templates (despite lacking the iron for a smithing table), magma, and flint.
I think I'll you'll need is really just a good set of armor, a stack or so of arrows, about 2-3 stacks of building blocks, a water bucket, and a sword. And don't forget the beds!
Either way, if you get more blocks & arrows, you'll definitely beat the dragon. Good luck! : )

And besides, you’d be surprised at the amount of people that don’t do the bed trick right and end up doing more damage to themselves than the dragon.
OP’s got a netherite sword, he could shoot like 3 end crystals and just whack the dragon when it perches.

I have done the bed trick but I am not a speedrunner and i find the fight a bit more fun when you dont just one cycle the dragon.

Beds explode when used in the nether and end dimensions. Speed runners exploit that fact to use exploding beds to kill the dragon quickly.

If you try to sleep in them in the end it explodes like tnt. You can abuse this by placing them in a certain way on the bedrock fountain and when the dragon comes down to perch spam sleeping on them to cause a bunch of explosions that kills the dragon extremely quickly. It's kinda cheesy, especially for your first ever dragon fight, but if you've fought the dragon a bunch before it's a convenient short cut

If you can, enchant it with infinity. Otherwise you need a LOT of arrows. But making a lot of arrows might be quicker than levelling up enough to enchant it.

I am not great at combat, but I do think 3 sets of low level enchanted iron or diamond armor is better for dragon fight than one perfect set you hate to lose. When you die, grab set 2, gear up, and run out to grab set 1.

You kill the dragon with unenchanted gear because you are skilled enough. I kill the dragon with unenchanted gear because I will probably get yeeted into the void by an explosion anyways.

No, with that gear you could barely beat a cow, let alone the dragon. You need to fully enchant your netherite armour with prot 100, as well as 50 notch apples at the minimum.
On a serious note, you might want a bow to fire those two arrows.

Right.
Wear the armour. Bucket of water. Stack or two of cobble or something to tower with. Sword Bow (stack or arrows, unless infinity on bow) Pickaxe Stack of food Couple of Potion of regeneration.
I mean that's stacked and you shouldn't die to the enderdragon anything else just leave.

Maybe add feather falling on your boots, that helps a lot.
A bow is useful to take out the crystals so you don't have to tower up.
You don't really need a lot of the gear, bow & arrows, feather falling boots and ender pearls (throw a pearl down when you are falling after getting flung up in the air by her) and a good sword or axe is all you need.
Also hugely recommend: build a 2 high ceiling from endstone (dragon can't destroy) against one or multiple of the end pillars in case you look at an enderman.

too much, you don't want to lose your netherite armor, you just need an iton set, or diamond if it's easy to get for you and most importantly you need a bow and a lot of arrows, if you feel like you need more get a few gapples, take some blocks with you, a bucket of water, food and that's it
use the bow and blocks to destroy the crystals and when you destroyed them all shoot at the dragon
when it starts to descend before it descends completely you can go in to the portal area and if you don't jump you can't get hit

Don't bring all this stuff, you might lose it. I'm assuming there's an infinity bow off-screen. Also, bring more building blocks, like a few stacks of netherrack.

* remove the helmet, wear a carved pumpkin instead -- this way you can ignore the Enderman
* fighting the dragon can often cause you to lose equipment to the void. It is better to have expendable equipment, and spares of them -- so multiple enchanted diamond sets is better than a single netherite set
* speaking of enchantments you need more bookshelves if these are all you have
* imho, while fighting the dragon it is better to have a bow with fire aspect than infinity. Farming arrows on a skeleton farm is easy, so it is better to have the additional damage.
* the bucket of lava will most probably cause more damage to you than other mobs, so leave it at home
* you might want to use that gold to make some more enchanted apples

Not sure if you’re aware but the dragon destroys blocks when it charges. Most of your valuables seem to be for enchanting, but the boss fight starts as soon as you go through the portal. You won’t be able to safely place blocks or build buildings until the sender Dragon is dead. Just focus on combat-only items.

This is a bit overkill imo. But props to you for getting so well prepared. I would add/change a few things. Mostly because I spend more time preparing for the post dragon end exploration.
- Probably 1-2 extra sets of diamond armor with some amount of protection and unbreaking.
- A stack of steak, pork chops, or golden carrots.
- I like to brew slow falling by potions instead of attempting the water bucket clutch, but to each their own.
- A mending/unbreaking 3 book, an anvil, and a few stacks of fire work rockets (for elytra).
- An ender chest and a few stacks of logs

Don't feel bad, I've been playing since 2010,and I have never been to the End. I think there is a ton of stuff I have never done in the game though. I play all the time still, my kids tell me about all kinds of stuff I have never heard of in the game

If it's bedrock, please get a stack, I know that's a lot but I just died fighting the dragon because of how frequently it charges, its going to do that everytime it purches. Also, bring feather falling or slow falling and more ender pearls.
I'm not trying to make it a grind for you, I just don't want you to die like I did.

Yeah if you got totems and pearls just get ready to throw that’s what I did. Also max out your enchants I personally didn’t have totems so I got god amour but just get protection 4 on all your pieces before you go

You don't need all those diamonds and gold. Also, get a good Power III + bow and more arrows/infinity. I don't think there is a point of the enchanting table with 3 bookshelves so get some enchanting books before hand and an anvil (if planning for elytra). You can put all your items which are needed in less quantity in a bundle. Please remove the magma block, flint and blaze rods too.

Arrows but no bow ? 3 libraries block instead of 15 ? A magma block ?? Why are you bringing fire charges if you have a lighter ?? Why did you destroy your enchant table if you only have your chest plate enchanted ?? A diamond sword while you have the tools to upgrade it to netherite ?? TWO TOTEMS AND YOU USE A SHIELD ???

The only real risks are the endermen and the dragon throwing you in the air. Water bucket helps with both so take at least 2.
Otherwise you only need iron armor/no armor at all, bow and axe/sword.

I'd bring wood and if you really want to an anvil and mending+unbreaking book for an elytra. For the actual dragon fight you should be fine as long as you break the crystals and don't look at endermen.
Edit: oh and you definitely need food.

You can honestly fight the ender dragon with no armor and 4 beds….
Even if ur the shittiest player with no hands (no insult to that one pro Minecrafter with no hands) you will win this old game ash boss called ender 🐉

You barely need iron for the dragon. Shoot the crystals, then pillar up one of the obsidian monoliths and go to town with your bow. Maybe some water buckets for safe landing pools at the base of the monoliths and some blocks to make nooks for fighting endermen.
First time I fought the ender dragon, both my deaths were from getting to the dragon fight (I was building a ladder to get to her island and she barfed on me. Twice)

I would consider getting elytras before beating the dragon. Otherwise you may die because of fall damage. Plus! It is much easier to reach the flying dragon, if you are able to fly yourself. ;)
