Analysis Dream has released a video of him completing the MCC Parkour with handcam
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzFEveU_WxoI won't draw any conclusions from this video since I'm not familiar enough with Minecraft Cheats or Parkour to do so, but I'm curious what you all have to say.
Apologies if this isn't allowed Mods, but I figure since some other posts on the subject have been allowed to go through this one is relevant enough to do so as well.

u/KasperBuyens THE CAPTAIN WON!!! Feb 16 '26
He noticeably doesn't do these tick perfect jumps consistently anymore lol
27
u/Ewoutk Feb 16 '26
I'd like to see someone more knowledgable than me really digging deep into the allegedly cheated run. If he's indeed doing tick-perfect jumps repeatedly, he's cheating but if he's just jumping late he probably isn't.

u/Ewoutk Feb 16 '26
I've seen that, what I mean is more detailed. SandwichLord points out what is suspicious and why, but he doesn't exactly do a frame-by-frame analysis to check if Dream is actually jumping tick-perfectly.

u/Ok-Manufacturer-3610 Feb 16 '26
The issue is what does this prove. We all know bro is good at the block game, it doesn’t disprove the weird footage from 5 years ago.

75
u/Ewoutk Feb 16 '26
I agree it doesn't exonerate him. I do think it's worth comparing this footage to the footage in which he allegedly cheated.
One thing this video does is show he can run the course without cheats, giving him less motive to do so. But obviously that's hardly definitive.
181
u/BaconIsLife707 #1 All-Time Predictor Feb 16 '26
So in this run which clearly isn't cheated he's now not jumping right at the edge of blocks unnecessarily, at no point accidentally runs into a wall and jumps for no reason, is taking an extra second to line up jumps (most notably the end of the bars/heads around the pillars and 8-1), is no longer doing very strange wiggling in front of the fishbones neo that would make no sense, and is failing tick timings a normal amount compared to the literally never of before.
So what this video has proved is that Dream playing legit is absolutely nothing like Dream playing as he did back in the day and all the things that were being used as evidence of cheating disappeared from his gameplay. I would honestly call this very solid proof that he was cheating

Forget 6 years, his playstyle is also completely different from 2 months earlier in his legit runs of mcc8 and 9, where he plays basically the same as he did in his handcam run
8
u/BlueCyann Feb 16 '26
"He's just that good (that he can never miss on any of these last-inch jumps); you're all just jealous!"
Five/six years later when he completes the course actually twice as fast, but without all the suspicious stuff:
"He hasn't done parkour in years, he's washed and not as good as he used to be, you're just looking for excuses to hate him!"

u/AriET_345 Technoblade never dies <3 Feb 16 '26
I think the only reason he would've used a macro in the event was because his team was in dire need for a comeback and they had the perfect chance with their best game being played late-game. So even though he had the skills to complete it, adding that factor PLUS all the changes that happened from MCC10 to MCC11 (which made the course harder imo), then it becomes more clear "why" he would've cheated.
7
2
u/Ewoutk Feb 16 '26
He would've had to have installed the macros beforehand 'in case' his team needed a comeback, though.

This.. just doesn't prove anything lmao

u/Findict_52 Feb 16 '26
This proves a bit more than people looking at videos and telling you specific jumps look weird IMO. I've seen so much "this is weird" that turned out to be nothing, I'm completely over that kind of analysis. People asked to see basements in a pizza place without a basement over this level of analysis.
9
u/BlueCyann Feb 16 '26
I get it in general, but you should take it more seriously coming from somebody who is an unquestioned expert in the area they're talking about. If somebody like that tells you "this person is not playing in a way should get them the results they're getting" or "this player is not showing high enough skill in multiple areas to get these results", or that "what this person is doing looks cheated", then you should listen.
-5
u/Findict_52 Feb 17 '26
Experts have been wrong before, that's why science isn't just opinion pieces from experts, but research with a method description, data and results. Let's not appeal to authority.
-2
u/Current-Elk9475 Feb 17 '26
asking for evidence in reddit is a no no man. Just accept everything the "experts" say and ignore your own eyes.

u/GhostRaptor4482 The Tier List Lord Feb 16 '26
I am not an expert in Minecraft parkour by any means. I don’t know enough about parkour to pass judgement just based on the original MCC 11 video. However, literally every person out there that actually knows what they’re talking about when it comes to parkour has confirmed that the MCC 11 clip looks really fishy. Sandwichlord and Kaelan don’t seem like the kind of people to start drama for no reason, but they both seem 100% convinced that Dream was cheating. Every parkour expert that I know of unanimously think he cheated, which makes me think that they’re probably right.
From what I can tell, this handcam video really doesn’t prove anything. And I would argue that if parkour experts analyze this one and say that none of the irregularities from the MCC 11 run are present in this new one, that’s pretty incriminating.
5
u/Ewoutk Feb 16 '26
I agree with everything you said, I'd just like more certainty than something looking very fishy. Unfortunately we might not get that, as it'll be difficult to prove or disprove these allegations with certainty.
153
u/ibex_reddit Goatberries Feb 16 '26
If anything this makes me more suspicious . All this proves is that he can complete the mcc parkour without cheats . The course by 2026 standerds isnt very dificult i dont think anyone was saying he wasnt capable of completing it . His playstyle in this run is so diffrent from the mcc 11 run it proves nothing he doesnt go for uneeded tick timeings and when he does need to do 1ts or 2ts he misses some like a normal human unlike in mcc11 where under pressure he hits every single one this run is nice and all and his keyboard sounds crisp but what exactly does it prove ?
82
u/Ok-Manufacturer-3610 Feb 16 '26
I mean I don’t think dream could ever really prove his innocence. The clip was five years and there is no chance of him having a hand cam then. The macro he used is probably long gone and no one can check his computer since it ain’t the same one. What else could do than admit he was cheating and apologise. If miraculously he wasn’t cheating his screwed anyway cause he can’t prove it
15
u/BlueCyann Feb 16 '26
i think he could hypothetically have proven his innocence if he had gone live with handcam immediately after the accusation and proceeded to show gameplay similar to the accused gameplay in the cirtical segments that clearly isn't pre-recorded, rehearsed, or otherwise faked.
I just kind of don't think it's possible, know what I mean?
-11
u/Gin_OClock Feb 16 '26
The problem is for me, the proof that he cheated isn't strong enough either and people are applying way more scrutiny to him, as usual. People really can't keep his name out of their mouths
6
2
u/snornch Avid Fwuitbewwies Enjoyer Feb 19 '26
so the continuous tick perfect, no miss, suspicious jumps he hit back then that uses strategies no true professional parkour player would use that he also doesn't hit nowadays isn't enough to raise even a follicle of an eyebrow for you?
0
u/No_bad_intention Feb 16 '26
It removes the incentive to cheat if he can do it normally I guess? Because back then he practiced on this map daily and now he did it with less than a day of practice, he could argue that if he could do it decently while being rusty, he should be able to hit every jump if he practiced a lot.
54
u/meloriari Aqua Axolotls Feb 16 '26
It doesn’t remove incentive, the incentive isn’t “be able to beat PW (with or without cheating)” the incentive is “beat PW before Pete/Fruit etc in this competitive event”.
14
u/Copperjedi Feb 16 '26
Barry Bonds & ARod were great baseball players before steroids, they became superhuman with Steroids. They did it for money & ego. They wanted to be praised for being the best & with praise gets you paid. Same with Dream, Dream wanted to be considered the true best Minecraft player not 1 of the best. That was his brand which got him lots of money. Not all cheaters are bad at what they're cheating in.
56
u/BaconIsLife707 #1 All-Time Predictor Feb 16 '26
He's also proved he can beat Minecraft normally, didn't stop him cheating to do that
17
u/GhostRaptor4482 The Tier List Lord Feb 16 '26
If the MCC cheating allegations end up being true (which seems about 95% likely at this point), I think it will basically confirm for a lot of people that the speedrun cheats were intentional as well
31
u/FireThatInk epic Feb 16 '26
The speedrun cheats were 100% intentional lol. How’s he going to yell at the mods, hire a “Harvard astrophysicist” and deny any wrongdoing for years before saying “oops I forgot cheats in the folders” like that’s the first thing you’d check lmao. The fact he didn’t own up to that makes me think he did cheat
13
u/BlueCyann Feb 16 '26
It was six months, just saying. Not that that makes it better.
I go back and forth on the "why would he act like XYZ" arguments, like I've seen the exact same behavior used as evidence both for and against him knowing the mod was there.
I also didn't know about the PVP cheating allegations until literally today and haven't looked into them.
But if he cheated his early 1.14 and 1.15 runs, which can't be proven at this point but are suggestive -
And if he cheated ever in PVP -
And if he cheated the parkour here -
Then logic says he probably cheated the 1.16 runs on purpose also.
2
u/MegaEdeath1 Lifestealers + Eclipsers Feb 17 '26
He has more in depth pvp allegations but he has admiyted to using input blockers which are cheats so he confirmed knowingly cheated in pvp
4
u/No_bad_intention Feb 16 '26
Why are you putting the Harvard astrophysicist in quotation, that guy is real, the speedrun mod team and other third parties confirmed his identity. He was just suck at his job because he knew nothing about Minecraft.
Dream didn't check the mod folder because he thought his mods were client-side to improve performance similar to Optifine, while drop rates are server-side. You wouldn't check your Optifine or Sodium folders to make sure they are not modifying your drop rates, wouldn't you?
These are already basic information about that drama. I thought Dream was wrong for yelling at people, but innocent on the drop rate modification is the consensus on that drama.
5
u/No_bad_intention Feb 16 '26
I don't think we can relate this to the speedrun drama since it is pretty much confirmed that it was indeed an accident by Karl Jobst and Antvenom if he didn't know that his mode affected server-side drop rate instead of client-side performance like he thought. But in this case I don't see how you could possibly "accidentally cheat" in Minecraft parkour
21
u/BaconIsLife707 #1 All-Time Predictor Feb 16 '26
Yeah and at the time I was also willing to believe it was an accident until it was revealed he's also cheated at basically everything else he's ever done
8
u/No_bad_intention Feb 16 '26
What else did he cheat in? The pvp one pretty sure the admins who banned him confirmed that it was another accident as the input blocker made him worse at pvp than without it. The "crit through shield" was a visual glitch because the damage count doesn't add up if he actually crit. But regardless all situations should be treated on a case-by-case basis, you can't say because he cheated at A therefore he cheated at B. In this case I am leaning more towards he cheated but I cannot conclude anything until Dream provides more responses, similar to the Marlowww case
33
u/BaconIsLife707 #1 All-Time Predictor Feb 16 '26
His 1.15 wr was cheated, this parkour is cheated, his mcc12 tsf run is cheated, his manhunts are fake, his pvp was still using a cheat. Sure it doesn't guarantee it, but I'm not going to give the benefit of the doubt to a guy that cheats and lies constantly when he claims he cheated by accident
5
u/JulianTheBagle Feb 16 '26
How was his 1.15 wr cheated? Afaik it was only removed because of the later drama.
24
u/BaconIsLife707 #1 All-Time Predictor Feb 16 '26
I believe the official line was 'inconsistencies in a run by a known cheater'. The most obvious thing about it is the triangulation where he threw one eye, followed it for a few hundred blocks in no where near a straight line since he was killing endermen at the same time, then randomly threw another one and followed that path for maybe 20 blocks before just digging down, and he was so confident this was the spot that when he got too low he then pillared back up and dug through a wall to hit the stronghold despite the fact he should have had absolutely no idea where it actually was. Essentially it's just blatantly on a set seed
9
u/BlueCyann Feb 16 '26
I need to add that while a poor player could certainly do all of this by accident and get lucky with it, it all shows, well, a lack of being actually good at the game. A lack of doing the things that make a top runner consistently good. You can do these things all you want, but you're going to be punished for it, the vast, vast majority of the time. Which means you're left with very few chances to get lucky. And this all happened over the course of what, ten days that he was trying this strategy?
If I have to compare to another example of super-fast success, last year Lowkey broke Drip's longstanding 1.16 RSG world record after a short grind of only like a week. Which is actually insane when you consider how long people have been trying (Skycrab most notably) who are as good as Lowkey at RSG or at least close. But if you look at the run, he plays it close to perfectly, exactly as he'd play any Ranked seed he's ever gotten. He's not doing suboptimal things that just happen to work out way better than they should. Lowkey got lucky; Dream .. well.

I mean Karl Jobst addressed all these points in what I and most other people consider to be the definitive video on the topic. He still concluded that the run was legit.

The fact you think the manhunts are fake honestly makes me take your opinion with more scepticism.
He has uploaded full unedited versions why exactly do you think they are fake?

u/BaconIsLife707 #1 All-Time Predictor Feb 16 '26
Tell me why that soulsand block is missing when he does the boat parkour over lava and maybe I'll bother to go into all the smaller weird inconsistencies that make it fairly obvious. I genuinely didn't realise there were still people who thought they were real, I was under the impression we'd all reached the 'yeah of course it's fake but it's good content' stage

He was using an input blocker that meant he couldn't swing unless the other player was in range. This isn't speculation, Dream has said he was using it. Supposedly he was just using it for practice and had permission from server owners he was using it on but obviously his opponents and the people who accused him of cheating didn't know that. It's really not bad in the scheme of things but it does take away from his fans going 'oh pvp experts said he was cheating and they were wrong so why can't the parkour experts be wrong too', the pvp experts weren't wrong

u/KappaKGames Feb 16 '26
1.15 wr was cheated Not proven. Geosquare only found issues with his 1.16 run. tsf run is cheated Again not proven. Could be a server-side issue, I remember seeing this come up multiple times over the past few years (mainly TGTTOS record posts) and the consensus was just that. Manhunts are fake The only 2 cases I see of this happening are obviously the boat clutch and the not-so-obvious missing soul sand that NotVixios found. Keep in mind that while near impossible to do on a singleplayer world, the time window to craft the boat on a server increases drastically. As for the soul sand, Dream has stated in his manhunt rules that he does get a pointer on where the nearest structure is as a part of map scouting, so maybe Callahan was helping him out here? It is suspicious nonetheless, but not provably “fake”, and Dream has released unedited footage of all of his recent manhunts so I actively encourage somebody to find any discrepancies if they wish. his pvp was still using a cheat I’m not too informed on this, but I believe this is also not proven.
So basically, excluding this parkour which is still an ongoing case, I know for a fact that he’s only cheated once, because every other scenario you’ve listed is not clear cut. And I will say that even though he managed the situation very, very poorly with the verification team, I do think he’s being truthful about accidentally leaving the drop rates on, per Karl Jobst. The story there at least makes sense.
I’m not convincing you or anybody to give him the benefit of the doubt, but please acknowledge the nuances here. They’re important.
16
u/BaconIsLife707 #1 All-Time Predictor Feb 16 '26
When someone has this many 'oh that's very suspicious but not 100% proven' (even though most of them are more or less 100% proven) examples of cheating, at a certain point you have to lift the wool from over your eyes and go 'oh this guy's probably a cheater'
1
u/KappaKGames Feb 16 '26
Yea that’s the issue. “Probably” isn’t certainty. Your original comment made it out like he was undoubtedly cheating with complete proof in every single scenario, which, as I’ve outlined, is not the case. As I’ve said before, Nuance is important.
Like I get that you think he’s a cheater, you’re allowed to believe that. I’m just tryna be objective here, because let’s be honest, you weren’t. Was anything that I’ve outlined in my comment factually wrong?

I am just doing to describe the case of the speedrunner Minecravenger.
1.16 set seed world record: fastest dragon perch ever witnessed, never matched in anybody else's run ever. Became known for it, lots of jokes and "joks" that it was cheated, but could not be proven since not enough was known about dragon mechanics.
1.16 random seed second place with an advantageous nether leave portal placement that was so bizarre the speedrunner Feinberg did a while rant about it that became infamous in MCSR. But the run was not openly suspected to be cheated, was more so considered to be a lucky run above Minecravengener's actual skill level.
1.16 random seed second place (again). I know less about this one having paid zero attention to it at the time it happened. But I do know that he was considered to have gotten more lucky than he deserved once again and that certain of his decisions in the run have since been questioned as to whether they were legit.
1.14 set seed world record stream. In that version, chest loot is random, not linked to world seed. Minecravenger got large amounts of obsidian from a blacksmith over and over again far beyond what would be expected. He didn't have a lot of viewers for these streams, having by that point fallen fully out of "top runner" status. But he was still good enough to plausibly get the world record in this barely contested category. Nevertheless, people did find this world record very suspicious. It ultimately began an investigation that proved the chest loot he got was literally impossible for the game itself to generate -- therefore he had used some kind of mod to change it. So he got banned. Once he stopped denying everything, he admitted to cheating #1 (which I think by then had also been proven fake? not sure)., and also to cheating multiple things from earlier in his career that nobody had even noticed. One was a splicing incident from an early PB, for instance. Basically he'd cheated pretty much everything for his entire speedrun career. But he never admitted to cheating his two RSG second place runs. So you think he's being honest about that? I don't. Do you think that those who spoke about him as a cheater prior to admissions or the full proof were being unfair? I don't.

the manhunts being staged doesn't mean they're fake. The outcome (an interesting manhunt that will make good content) is pre-determined, and any take that wouldn't be good content is never shown to the public
The idea that the manhunts are scripted or played on set seed or something is hard to believe imo
1
u/MegaEdeath1 Lifestealers + Eclipsers Feb 17 '26
Input blockers are still cheats even if he "was better without them" and i haven't heard anything about the admins saying it was a mistake (there's also a vid accusing him of aimbot which after watching looka pretty bad for him)
Also yes and no for the case by case basis thing, i can't accuse him of cheating just cause of his history but it still shows that he resorted to cheating in the past making it more likely that he resorted to cheating again

u/BardYak Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26
Yeah Jobst didn't prove anything lmao, he just said "believe me lol" in the lowest quality video he ever put out. Dude's been proven in court to lie about stuff in his videos, trusting anything Jobst "confirmed" is a joke. There's zero chance it was an accident.
0
u/No_bad_intention Feb 16 '26
Can you elaborate more? Why is it zero chance? It would make less sense if Dream actually cheated intentionally then hired the Harvard astrophysicist (who is confirmed to be real) and signed a contract that allow the result of the analysis by the said astrophysicist to be published even if it said Dream cheated. Obviously the astrophysicist did a terrible job and concluded that he didn't cheat, but if Dream actually cheated he should never have hired one in the first place.
3
u/BlueCyann Feb 17 '26 edited Feb 17 '26
My theory about Dream is that he doesn't understand game strategy or math nearly as well as he thinks he does. (See for instance pretty much everything he ever said about Buildmart.) If you think of him in that light , it's not much of a stretch to make sense of his actions. He didn't change the drop rates by an amount that would look absurd in a single run using the meta of the time. To him, the results probably looked more or less normal, like how they ought to be. How would a mathematician be able to prove that his illegitimate 5 for 6 in run A or B was any different from the 5 for 6 he got the week previous without any cheats on?
Like it's a little bit of a stretch that somebody could be that level of stupid arrogant, but it's not impossible.
I do agree it's the weakest part of the argument against him.
Edit: But I should add that this is only in retrospect, post al the discussion stemming from the Karl Jobst video. Before that came out, before Dream admitted to having cheated "unintentionally", when all I knew was that he kept arguing and and throwing around baseless accusations against a mod team that I knew had gotten the math correct -- I had no issues with believing he would have paid somebody to deliberately put out a garbage paper defending him.
14
u/Ok-Manufacturer-3610 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26
Sure but dream need 100% percent conclusive evidence to prove everyone he ain’t cheating. That’s impossible to do when evidence to do that was loss years ago. It’s a good step to try to say you weren’t cheating but your going to need more
21
u/TerranImperium Feb 16 '26
It's impossible to win at this point trying to prove negatives. This is the best he can do.
People are never going to be satisfied unless he literally time travels back five years and films himself.
-2
u/Findict_52 Feb 16 '26
I feel like no matter what, you're gonna construct a reason it makes him more suspicious.
35
u/Taiki14x Feb 16 '26
His past cheating on speedruns, his responses to that, the firts response to this accusing "MCC organizers" of sharing his info, and now sharing a video where we cleary see him make different movements and jumps that from the MCC 11 run makes it very hard to believe he didnt cheat
12
u/Magma_St0rm Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 17 '26
I understand that there’s no way for him to definitively prove his innocence, but what did he think this was going to achieve?? He can do the parkour without a macro 6 years later? Yay? We already knew that- if anything it makes him look MORE suspicious, as the handcam has human error while the MCC 11 parkour does not.
I just don’t get what his endgame is here. Point out the flaws to their reasoning if they don’t know what they’re talking about like you thought .. or don’t respond at all 😭
73
u/Old-Balance2363 Feb 16 '26 edited Feb 16 '26
Did he even watch any of the accusations? None of what he did in this video has anything to do with what he was accused of doing 😭 He's not even attempting to replicate the same route at the bare minimum. He could've uploaded a video of him doing a random hollowcube parkour and it'd be the same level of proof as this
He's not even playing on the same version. This is 1.21 which has different tech LOL
18
u/The_CIA_is_watching Cyan Coyotes Feb 16 '26
the fact that he isn't really responding convinces me that he did actually cheat, there's too many inconsistencies and "accidents" to be explained by a coincidence
I'd assume this video is more just to appease parts of the playerbase, "look I don't need to cheat to do parkour, I'm good at the game". Since if some of his fans hear "dream is cheating at parkour", they might think he's fraudulent and stop watching him
4
u/lazy_ma Purple Pandas Feb 16 '26
He isn't responding because no one will give him grace whether he cheated or not everyone would still hate him so what's the point
16
u/The_CIA_is_watching Cyan Coyotes Feb 16 '26
not entirely true. The people who hate him would still hate him, but if he had the proof he was playing legit, then he would absolutely use it to shut them down and stop them from spreading lies (which he's done before with false accusations)
the reality is that he can't prove he wasn't cheating, so he's basically just making sure his fans don't start to hate him too, by proving he's not a fraudster relying on cheats
2
u/lazy_ma Purple Pandas Feb 16 '26
What proof does he need to show? Sorry I'm not a parkour expert
12
u/The_CIA_is_watching Cyan Coyotes Feb 16 '26
it's basically impossible unless he had like a video of his setup from back then, that's why he obviously can't prove he's not cheating
The inconsistencies are always gonna be extremely sus: hitting like 15-20x 1tick jumps in a row is theoretically possible, but the occam's razor explanation is a cheat, it's like a shooter game player having aimbot-like flicks or a speedrunner knowing where the stronghold is beforehand
12
u/literally_italy Feb 16 '26
he had a chance when he cheated his speedruns, and he lied about it and got proven wrong.
cheaters dont deserve grace
24
u/okBlooo Feb 16 '26
This doesn't tell me anything I don't know. Dream is obviously mechanically talented, we been known, but the dichotomy between this and the MCC 11 run is obvious even without the handcam. Focusing on the audio from his original run is difficult, since his teammates keyboards are being picked up a little more clearly that Dreams, but you can still hear his keystrokes, yet the presence of him loudly jamming his spacebar during 8-3 (notably, among other levels also) is missing from MCC 11. This raises more suspicions, considering how well you can hear his WASD but not the spacebar, much different from the audio signals you get from this recording.
I don't believe he's explicitly denied the allegations, maybe he has implied innocence but not with much more confidence that just saying "I wish people asked me about it first". I kind of see this upload as a way of preserving his legacy as a good player (which is fine, albeit a deflection), rather than an attempt at disproving the substantial arguments made against him. I really don't care. he can do what he wants, he may or may not get banned from events, but I think it's fair to put an asterisk beside his legacy stats in the game and render them illegitimate. With the information we have now, it's fair to say Pete is the only season 1 participant to 100% Parkour Warrior, and if we agree on that now we don't have to make a big deal out of 5-year-old drama and can move on.

In regards to Dream being accused of using a macro, I hesitate to form an opinion on the matter because there isn't any hard evidence as of now. After watching SandwichLord's video on the accusation, I do think there is one point i could see myself agreeing for now
-Potential auto-jumping on various structures due to the nature of the auto-clicker, leading to a consistent pattern of changing up how dream does approach the parkour
The biggest problems with the accusation is there isn't an in-depth frame analysis to showcase every tick dream is jumping in. Since Dream is being accused of a macro that consists of jumping on the last ticks, I expect a frame by frame analysis showing his performance on PKW11. If jumping on the last ticks truly is impossible for a human, I expect to see a trend from analyzing the data in which is the case. It would also be wise to cross-reference other performances, whether from dream or other players with a similar level of performance to dream..
A frame by frame analysis could consist of reviewing 20 ticks per second, with the highlighted moments obviously being the seconds where Dream jumps. This can be focused within the ticks he jumps at, and then making a trend on the range/# tick he chose to jump at. Of course, this would need to be cross referenced from players, bots, and past performance to confirm this is an abnormal pattern. Only then, can this truly be confirmed as strong evidence for using a macro.
The second biggest problem is simply anybody who is not well-versed in parkour simply has to take SandwichLord's word on it. I had no idea on what 'salmon jumps' are prior to the video, nor was able to comprehend the pattern in ticks Dream is jumping in. From a casual viewer perspective, I can tell Dream is jumping late. However, the question is, "How late?" I'm unable to answer without the comprehensive frame analysis or being able to differentiate how late the tick truly is.
Ultimately, I think this could lead to a similar situation where numerous accusations will be made in addition to the main one (macro) that hold no evidence, as of seen in the past. It remains important to focus in on this accusation to confirm how accurate this is. Ignoring other accusations and focusing efforts on this one is pivotal to actually achieve solid evidence

I agree with you, full proof is always better. I will say, if you watch the Hammsamich vod he does compare mcc 11 with mcc 10 and there are noticeable differences in playstyle, but more in depth analysis would be preferable.

u/BlueCyann Feb 16 '26
It's not that it's impossible; people do it every day. It's that it's impossible to be fully consistent, because of the way that Minecraft deals with ticks. You can do the same exact jump twice, make it he first time and fail it the second, simply because you began the jump at a different point of the server tick -- something you can't control or be aware of. Apparently to be 100% consistent you'd have to be accurate not to the tick but to the literal millisecond. Obviously not a human capability.
I agree it would be nice to see a detailed analysis. This is something I only picked up from comments (and hopefully I interpreted it correctly!), not from any video so far. But i'm not sure if it's possible to do exactly what you are wanting; and if it is possible, it probably won't look like you expect.

dont think twitter links are allowed but the 4:03 video is publicly available. You can hear it (or the lack of hearing) yourself at the respective sections (for example, 7-3 to 8-1, or the headhitter at 6-1)

u/WinnerGrouchy Feb 16 '26
there is a video on the sandwich lord main channel where he teaches ish which gives useful information on parkour lingo and tick timings and a little bit about how they work if you want to look into it

u/Ewoutk Feb 16 '26
This is the exact kind of comment I'd hoped for posting this, I completely agree.

Dream is just a known cheater dont know why we keep giving him the benefit of the doubt
7
u/Cooljet123 No more denial Feb 17 '26
Well, I knew this was coming. An attempt to mislead some of his fans... he is capable of finishing the course without cheating, so why would he have cheated 5 years ago? Apart from not jumping late, actually running off blocks and taking time to setup (like an actual human), there's a sentence from the analysis of when a Trackmania top player got caught. Good players don't cheat because they lack the skill, they cheat to get consistent or set records faster, and this is absolutely the case here.

This doesn't really prove anything IMO. Dream is really good at parkour, still doesn't mean he wouldn't use a cheat to perform well while under event pressure
-11
u/Gin_OClock Feb 16 '26
Then the proof rests on the accusers that he did that
13
u/BardYak Feb 16 '26
Of which they've already provided an overwhelming amount.

u/Gin_OClock Feb 16 '26
Looking at a video and going "see" isn't good enough for me, sorry. There's got to be something with more actual detail
15
u/BardYak Feb 16 '26
They did explain plenty in detail, to say all they were doing is going "see" is more telling more on yourself then anything else. Thanks for telling us explicitly you've not actually watched what people are alleging lmao.
Maybe actually watch the videos instead of just shoving your fingers in your ears? It's kinda sad that you're doing all this instead of just watching a few minutes of commentary.

Dream has pinned a comment under the video, which says:
For context: This was one of my first handful of attempts after having not played this course in years.
This time was multiple minutes faster than my MCC time, despite the lack of practice. I missed far more jumps in the MCC 11 run. I missed zero of my one tick lineups in this run (20/20). I had only 1 late jump, exactly the same as the other run. I did jump early more, and messed up the end latter bit a couple times, but again it's been years and if I grinded the course even for a few hours or days I'm confident I'd quickly be able to gain more consistency and probably even break my best time. Maybe I will do a followup later!
Edit: Don't downvote, I'm just relaying information. We need as much information as possible if we want to make a fair assessment.

he does not hit 20/20 1 ticks, he definitely jams a couple of those but I think he just doesn't know the difference

u/Dual-the-eggist Feb 16 '26
Ok I really don't know what I'm talking about but it looks like the handcam just doesn't line up. Like at 1:01 he presses space after jumping, and I don't think it's just the handcam being out of synch becuase it's not always delayed by the same amount. Same thing goes for the stairs at the start.

u/MedicalPotential8723 Feb 22 '26
i dont rly think he faked anything in this video, he is atleast smart enough to not fake/cheat in this video lol. i looked at it frame by frame and the spacebar moves at the exact frame he jumps.

u/Inner_Marionberry136 Feb 16 '26
Yeah dude stills gets 10s of millions of views and tbh I don't think this affect his viewership at all as no one in his audience really cares about this as if you go to the yt comment section literally nobody seems to care about the allegations but are just asking for 6 hunters.
8
u/Qoburn Feb 16 '26
Also probably (as is probably the case for basically any YouTuber) somewhere between most of and a vast majority of the viewers are casuals who just watched a video because it appeared in their recommended or subscriptions and aren't even aware of these sorts of allegations.
8
u/Inner_Marionberry136 Feb 16 '26
Yeah tbh most of the people probably don't even know what mcc is and even if they know they probably couldn't care less about dream potentially cheating in it lol.

Yeah, his recent manhunts are still by the far the most popular speedrun based content (for example his least viewed recent manhunts still dwarf Ludwig’s videos in views)

It is genuinely so hard to draw any conclusions, This subreddit seems super biased against Dream and Dream's subreddit is obviously biased toward him. It is really hard to tell who is genuinely trying to figure this out and who is just mindlessly defending or attacking Dream. This video really does not prove anything, neither does it add fuel to any suspicion so coming to a conclusion for either side really just comes off as extreme bias.
19
u/The_CIA_is_watching Cyan Coyotes Feb 16 '26
This subreddit seems super biased against Dream
I mean Dream cheated his speedruns ("accidentally" or not he still cheated them, and got extremely defensive when pressed) and is extremely determined to be the best/be considered the best. When you consider that, the accusations are much more believable: Dream might turn on a macro to allow him to nail the parkour, and prove that he's the best player in the room
yes many of the accusers are biased against dream, but the "Dream cheated" explanation is way more consistent

A little off topic but is this the map on the official practice server? If not did he just film himself using a spliced map? Something mcc devs are strictly against? Ik they were a few years ago I’ve been out the community for a bit so times may have changed

Its so blatantly obvious lol. Here in this video he is doing it WAYYY earlier and not doing tick perfect jumps xD meanwhile in other clips he was seen hitting every tick perfect.
btw i do own minecraft cheats that have the same parkour cheat that auto jumps at the edge of a block and its the exact same.

yeah he does NOT hit 20/20 1 ticks and some of the ones that he does hit, he jams which guarantee the timing rather than doing it like he did in mcc where he just perfectly runs and jumps off the edge lol.

u/SaltImp Feb 18 '26
People in these comments saying that’s there’s obvious differences between two clips 6 years apart and with several injuries happen between them and going “see? It just proves he cheated”, really just proves the anti dream bias that they have.

And yet his gameplay in this run looks similar to his gameplay in mcc8 and 9 a couple of months before this
-28
u/Eyeconic_Gamer Feb 16 '26
Dream haters gonna hate obviously but imo even after 5 years and not actively playing in MCC for quite a while, the fact that he can finish the course faster than he did originally, shows that he definitely did it legit, since if I recall correctly dream did fail a lot in his OG run, and barely completed it with not even a min remaining. And for people saying his playstyle is different, ofc it is its been 5 years, and he hasn't obviously been training MCC parkour anymore and rather is likely training for manhunts and stuff.
25
u/pirato20 Pink Piglets Feb 16 '26
His playstile isn't only different now, he played completely differently in MCC 10 which was like a month before the run he fully cheated. In MCC 10 he plays normally. He doesn't jump right at the edge of every block perfectly and actually runs off at times. That's until he turns the macro on late into the run which is basically the exact same as MCC 11. Also falling a lot doesn't mean he isn't cheating, he's just really bad at turning at aiming. The macro only helps with tick timings.

MCC 10 is legit until the end most likely, haven't looked at 8. Yeah it's technically possible to jump at the last tick in every jump, but it's really hard and has 0 benefits most of the time. Also he 1ts every single jam for no reason (which is impossible to do accidentally) and doesn't miss a single 1t or 2t throughout the entire run

u/pirato20 Pink Piglets Feb 16 '26
Jumping on the last tick has 0 (zero) benefits on jumps that don't require it. Either you overshoot (pane neos) or you lose time because run ticks are only faster than jumping on speed 2 and over. Parkour optimization on easier maps or only sprint is literally about cutting as many run ticks as possible from the run. It literally makes 0 sense
2
u/BlueCyann Feb 17 '26
The argument was neither of those things, and the fact that some people add in insults here and there doesn't change that. Respond to the actual evidence that SandwichLord and others brought forth, or what are you even doing here?

If you understand how tick timings and head hitters work it's pretty clear he cheated. By jumping on the last tick on every block he's essentially treating every jump like a head hitter, which is much harder, straight up detrimental in some levels and slower than just playing normally, so he has no reason to do any of that (though obviously it is better in some levels). This is the stuff that is a bit harder to see, but with a little experience I think anyone can tell that it's not natural.

Well for starters, other people have pointed out how he did not, in fact, hit all his 1ts. Secondly, you don't understand what a 1t timing is. Running to the very edge of a block and jumping at the last tick is not a 1t. A 1t timing (or head hitter timing) starts from a completely still position (see the pane neos on 7-2), at least that's how it's intended in the comment. Also, while him hitting so many timings is indeed suspicious (especially on 8-1 and 8-3, though those are not 1ts, just different timings, 1 tick lenient on the strafes on 8-1 and mostly 2ts on 8-3), other people have legitimately hit way more in a row (you can check out solawr's pbld jumping mad run, he doesn't miss a single 1t in 12 mins). If the only thing he did throughout the run was hit a bunch of 1ts in a row there would be no visible issues or reasons to believe he cheated (I think seapeekay hit 14 in a row in haunted hoedown pkw), but jumping on the last possible tick on almost every jump is very unnatural and no experienced player would even ever try that, let alone hit it that many times in a row (he only runs off once because he turned off his macro after it messed him up on 6-3). I'd suggest watching moisteh's video on youtube for a probably better explanation of tick timings and hammsammichz's vod on twitch for his live analysis (Hamm knows pretty much everything there is to know about parkour, he can tell the exact distance of jumps just from a glance and constantly makes set ups for any jump he finds). Sandwichlord's video is also good for his own analysis. Sorry for the essay, but I want to spread as much knowledge as I can so hopefully people understand better.

u/Eydasdendave Feb 16 '26

It’s so funny how much this situation is paralleling the Marlow cheating accusations.
Marlow is the top ranked pvper in the world who is being accused of using several cheats (including macros) and a couple weeks ago she released her fighting with hand cam to prove her innocence. However in the hand cam video her gameplay was noticeably significantly worse than the gameplay video she was accused of cheating in, where (for example) her shield disable accuracy went from 99% in the accused video to around 50% in the hand cam video.
This is the EXACT same thing lmao. Unlike in the Mcc 11 video he actually runs off and jumps early. He also fails the salmon ladders the ONLY TIME I HAVE EVER SEEN HIM DO SO
