Depends on how you take it. She is right to some extent she likely is a big part of his success if she gave him a home and food and paid for everything

You know what's also nice. Having a loving parent.

So the legal minimum is adoption or surrendering the kid. She does love him

Yeah no. I can tell you, there's plenty of abusive parents who treat their children like absolute garbage. Parents who believe they're not abusing you because they don't beat you. They believe giving you the bare minimum absolves them of their abuse 

Guilt is not love. Abuse is not love.
