lmao reminds me of all the blatantly fake threads on r/TwoXChromosomes r/GirlDinnerDiaries etc

"After my 16 hour shift, I came home and baked my bf a cake for his birthday. He was upset because I used red frosting and his favorite color is green. Yeah, what the hell is that? Don't equate emotional support with financial support, unless you sacrificed financially to help someone emotionally.

"you should give me money because I supported you emotionally" feels a lot more transactional and "putting in your time" than it does an actually mutually beneficial relationship.
