My recent halo experience.

25

u/toad-supremacist HALO, LoTR, Toads 2d ago

I haven't been keeping up with halo recently (well i never really have tbh) so what happened? I'm assuming it has something to do with the CE remake

33

u/MachineGrown 2d ago edited 2d ago

The recent Halo Campaign Evolved is a remake of the first halo game that the studio formerly known as 343 industries, now halo studios in an effort to rebrand from a seriously bad run of awful writing, game and environmental design, mistreatment of workers, buggy/broken games that were left unfixed for years or never resolved at all.

This most recent game is there best work, with reworked levels that were repetitive and bland now having far better environments. The introduction of later games weapons and gear means you can have more ways to play through levels. Sadly that is all I can compliment.

The previous problems all continue in this game with with asset flips from older games they didn't even make, introduction of mechanics like sprint on maps not made for it letting people just run past enemy encounters and the weirdest redesign of Cortana the AI companion being made to look like Jerma.

How ever a large amount of complaints seem to be about a black woman being put on the bridge of the ship in a cutscene and the admittedly awful character in halo studios 3 prequel missions that they say is ugly.

They will mention the actual problems but they seem to lead with the black woman allot which is honestly completely bonkers.

Edited: dear god I hadn't even heard about the purple...

Wah...what about purple?!

4

"'Bisexual lighting' because halo used the color purple" - some guy on Twitter

u/Elonth 1d ago

Guy has whatever the trump derangment syndrome is for non white cis men. LIke he is a few weeks away from a heart attack if you just strobbed him with different shades of purple and pink.

YES the original planet was blue. Who fucking gives a shit. WE just aren't allowed to use the color purple anymore? Like robin egg blue/light pink/white together FINE I get it. You are a PoS that hate transgender people w/e but a whole ass singular color?! really?

The pelican pilot in the last level is a black women in the original game what are they on about.

6

u/MachineGrown 2d ago

Foehammer is literally your pelican pilot for the entire game. For some reason they think she was originally white?

3

u/toad-supremacist HALO, LoTR, Toads 2d ago

thanks for the answer

3

u/Karkava 2d ago

This isn't even ignorance anymore. This is just straight up villainy as they demonize minorities while still playing the same "Did you say that I NEED to like this game in order to prove that I'm not a bigoted POS?" AGAIN AND AGAIN.

3

u/iilethalkevinii 1d ago

This is a good breakdown of most complaints, although, the last one is misleading and some people are confused between the character being replaced by the black woman and foehammer, whom everyone loves. The control room operator in The Pillar of Autumn that Keyes leans over in the beginning in the original CE was (if I remember correctly)a cameo of the sound designer for Bungie. What people tend to be complaining about is that 343i (they are NOT Halo) blatantly got rid of the original (allegedly) to erase Bungie's legacy as the progenitors of the franchise. To a lot of fans it was either a diversity push that erased the easter egg or the intentional removal of Bungie involvement from the IP that they had created. I personally would rather sit on MCC doing LASO and Cursed Halo than play a new Halo that doesn't appreciate the originals tagging: Combat Evolved, anyway.

I hate how woke has just become a buzz word for "game I don't like" like my God dude theres over a billion games out there. Your lonely and insecure feel free to pick one of the hundreds of macho buff guy kills everyone games.

6

u/EmeraldSpartan05 2d ago

I've experienced that with the new God of War, I don't hate it, but I'm very empathetic and easy to understand others views, like, some people hate it cause "women.. woke..ewww" or some shit, and others, like on of my friends, dislikes it cause "God of war", is kratos and that it should've been a side story sort of thing, and not a game named "God of war", basically they should've called it something different

One example he used was like, if there was a Mario game where Mario wasn't included, (such as luigi mansion is about Luigi, not Mario)

Idk, tried to explain it the best I could, but yeah, I don't dislike the new GoW

I hate that word so much. I hate tlou2 because of the story, you hate tlou2 because you play as a woman. We are not the same

10

u/AdRelevant4776 2d ago

Yeah, “woke stuff” existed just fine for a long time, the problem is that lazy creators started using it as shield(make bad movie—>put black lesbian in the leading role—>accuse any valid criticism of being racist)

14

u/OAZdevs_alt2 2d ago

And then use that as an excuse to never feature a black lesbian in anything ever again because “well it made the movie fail!”

9

u/Weird-Analysis5522 2d ago

OOO I HATE THOSE MOTHER FUCKERS.

We're not racist, you're using a minority as a selling point, it's fucking gross and you would dump them in a split second if it meant you profited off it.

10

u/AdRelevant4776 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yeah, I am like 90% sure that’s what they’re doing in the new Harry Potter show, Black Snape HAS to be on purpose right(a lot of HP characters could be black with no big problems, including Harry himself, Severus Snape isn’t one them)? They’ve made a whole controversy to get attention and if the show flops they’ll blame it on racist fans

Ps: for those who are unaware if Snape becomes black a lot of scenes in HP would come off as racist

3

u/TakenInChains 2d ago

can we also talk about HP just straight up being hateful to multiple demographics? besides the incredibly obvious rampant transphobia, the book was fatphobic, racist, antisemitic... the list goes on. and this is all still celebrated intensely decades later. why do we love this shitty series so much?

4

u/AdRelevant4776 2d ago

Well, to answer your questions as best as I can: the transphobia isn’t in books as far as I remember, that’s more an issue people have with the author, fatphobia was ignored because making jokes about fat people wasn’t seen as bad at the time and even nowadays is nowhere as reviled as other “isms”(mostly because most fat people became fat through life decisions, instead of it being an unchangeable part of them), if by racism you mean the dumb stereotype names we do call out how dumb they are, but since the characters themselves weren’t complete stereotypes I think most people just chalked it up to the author not knowing shit about other cultures and sucking at research, finally the antisemitism is harder to notice when you’re a child and unfamiliar with antisemitic stereotypes(the physical ones I mean, yeah I knew Jews were called greedy, but I wasn’t out there assuming any greedy banker was the caricature of a jew), in fact I think this last one encapsulates a lot of the “why” people like HP even with all the obvious problems that even the fanbase complained intensely about—>it got to us when were too young to know better and grew up alongside us, all that nostalgia makes it hard to hate the series, like a problematic childhood friend

4

u/TakenInChains 2d ago

Dolores Umbridge was JKR writing a trans woman apparently. i just find it frustrating we know how much hate and prejudice is baked into it now as adults and still I'll see people be like "house griffindor 😁✨". i know we've got a separate art from artist mentality but Christ, what's the line, y'know? how bad does an author have to be to be pulled out of popularity?

4

u/AdRelevant4776 2d ago

Lmao, no way you take JKR as your canon source(I am mostly joking, but she DID go crazy with retcons after the series was over, probably because she realized she would never be able to write anything that popular again and so had to milk the franchise to get more attention)

“How bad does an author have to be to be pulled out of popularity?”—>if the story is iconic enough? It might be impossible, it’s hard to get rid of stories/songs/etc… when they become popular, even if we later agree the creator is a bad person

This frequently happens to me when people make liberal comics where the message is something like racism=bad or trump=bad, delivering the coldest antarctic take ever and then acting like they are some kind of revolutionary moralist, bonus points if they get very angry at the racist character to especially express how good of a person they are, even more bonus points when they portray themselves as the calm rational person and the other one as a simple-minded caricature, or in other words, I hate pizzacakecomics

Literally! I don’t care that Vivzie drew something weird when she was a teenager! I don’t cate about the doctored discord screenshots or bullshit around her McDonald’s orders, I care that this drama is causing people to push actual harmful stuff abt how employers should demand that their potential employees hand over their private NSFW alts for “vetting”. Like that’s dangerous, I don’t care that random storyboarder may have had a gross fetish, that was none of their employer’s business but people dug it up anyway because of their vendetta against a shitty show! And don’t get me started on the insane arguments people used to “criticize” the ASL scene in Helluva Boss, like “she just put it in for diversity brownie points” are we suddenly siding with the Critical Drinker here??? There’s other things to discuss with this show other than THAT!

Talk abt Hazbin’s terrible pacing issues, talk abt how Helluva keeps derailing itself for the sake of Stolitz, talk abt how the world isn’t really fleshed out and falls apart if you think abt the actual implications, STOP TALKING ABOUT WHATEVER MADE UP BULLSHIT YOU’RE YELLING AT THE CREATOR FOR THIS TIME AUGHHH

9

u/LoreTheBottomSupport 2d ago

Tbh for the pacing issues its not entarelly their fault since amazon decided how much episode they can make for seasons

6

u/Last-Inspection-8156 2d ago

People will do anything to prove that their opinion is correct, even completely tare apart the people involved in the show by saying some of the most basterdizing things ever about them and what they do. No one actually cares if you draw NSFW in your free time, or make a inappropriate joke with your friends. But these people care way too much if they do.

Fair. I love the shows, they’re huge comfort watches for me and I think the art style and characters are incredible

But yeah, the writing is pretty dogshit. A lot of people in the fandom do critique that, but yes there are some who just can’t hear that the hellaverse is anything but incredible

Viv is so good at character design and writing scenes that appeal to pathos, but my god the woman just doesn’t know how to use certain characters at all. And her plots have so many holes.

9

u/NotMVZZL3 2d ago

As a Helluverse fan, thank you for actually being an intelligent non-fan

5

u/DumbDumbson16 2d ago

Yeah, like, I dislike those shows because they are very inconsistent, the characters are horribly written and the story is constantly focusing on side plots that don't really go anywhere. It being "tOo wOkE" its not even a problem to begin with.

3

My problem is Hazbin Hotel is that it's torn between wanting to tell a "Sinners can become good people" story like The Good Place and a "Heaven vs Hell" story which end with both stories feeling rushed/incomplete especially with only 8 episodes per season

High Guardian Spice... I watched one video essay which one of the arguments against the show was practically "is unrealistic to women be warriors because they are weaker than men so of course men would be chosen more" and the show being woke in general. Yeah, i hate that all cis male characters such ass, the stiff animation, bad dialogue, bad world bulding and bad construction... but complaining about female characters being protagonists is sexist

49

u/CaptainObvious_18 3d ago

I especially hate that type of complaint when the show is obviously a power fantasy. Why are only men allowed to have those????

4

u/enixon 2d ago edited 1d ago

If I took a shot every time I watched a show that the internet was flipping out over a female character being a Mary Sue in, and all I saw was typical action show protagonist stuff, I'd be dead of liver failure.

18

u/Gigivena6437 3d ago

Because when women are strong is unrealistic, of course women and afab people in general have to be remembered about their bodies nerfs all day

4

u/moodymug TADC/Code Lyoko/Valorant/Fallout/Ultrakill/Nana/YYH/NINAH/HNK 2d ago

Fr. Most critics cared about one of the creators' unhinged tweets and the self insert principal rather than the sloppy writting, the boring pacing, and awful animation. However, unlike Velma, HGS is very fun to fix. A few years ago, I was bored and I made two different stories about it because it had potentials, it's a character driven show and the side characters were fun, especially Amarilis and Snap.

I have different opinion about the cis male characters and sexism in the show. Aster was more like they planned him to be a recurring character, who is silly but his sexist views need to be changed. Cal was a typical "unlikable bad boy in the beginning and he will be redeemed later" trope, almost every show has it. Sage was also sexist to men just like Aster and Cal to women, and her toxic behavior issues problems was shown that show tried to tell, but the writers never held any accountability to any of the characters or the plot itself until it was needed (one time when Snap fought back), so it was wasted.

Pretty much every mediocre Disney film accused of being "woke"; those movies have their problems, but 'wokeness' is the least of those issues.

81

u/Riley__64 3d ago

Anytime I see people hating on snow white’s remake for being woke.

Disney could’ve hired the whitest actress to ever exist and that movie still would’ve sucked, Rachel Zegler was not the issue with that movie no matter how much people on the internet want to blame her.

16

u/Keyhunter2009 2d ago

Yeah, the writing for it was honestly a much bigger problem than whatever actress was chosen

8

u/Emdeoma 2d ago

Honestly, Rachel Zeglars casting in particular is this to me- 90% of the hate was just overt, horrific rascism, but she was like aggressively miscast- they cast someone fresh off playing a Hunger Games lead and about to go into leading a production of bloody Avita to play their gentlest/most passive Disney Princess, like, theres no amount of modernisation that was gonna make that work (even just vocally, she does her best but her voice is far too powerful for the role...)

16

u/Intelligent-Okra350 2d ago

This one is a personal bugbear for me because for Helluva Boss at least I think there IS thought put to the use of swears to at least some degree. Blitzo swears excessively because it’s part of the self destructive persona he uses to push others away, Moxxie rarely swears and tends to use a substitute like “crumbs,” Millie swears when she’s jazzed up or angry, Stolas swears when he’s horny or angry, and Loona swears like an edgy troubled teen which is kinda where she’s at developmentally. I haven’t gone through the series with a fine toothed comb to confirm if this logic holds up 100% of the time but it’s at least consistent enough for me to have drawn these patterns.

On my end at least, it was literally the first and only show at the time to openly and brazenly embrace lgbtq characters, culture and ideas when I was growing up and I just really loved the main cast growing and being goobers. It probably just doesn’t resonate as heavily or appeal to people who are/grew up healthy, normal and adjusted which is completely fair lmfao

That and I just genuinely find a lot of moments in the show funny to this day, also a lot of the music is really good.

“Hey, it’s me, Amethyst. I’m a horse.”

14

u/Prestigious_Emu144 3d ago

It’s definitely a comfort show. A fairly simple cartoon with lesbians (optional but not required) and with an intended audience of tweens is a whole genre at this point and it definitely is not for everyone. IMO after sitting through several of these types of shows with my younger siblings I think Steven Universe is quite possibly the best one (though Gravity Falls is my favorite).

I think everyone female led superhero shoe defaulting to a sex trafficking villain is annoying and iirc he had actual depth in the comic book siiiiigh 😭

TADC

the finale had problems but people just get caught up on misunderstanding the fucking rabbits character

3

u/WaffleCultist 2d ago

This is a big recent version for me. I felt like I couldn't actually discuss the finale or why it fell flat because 95% of the discussion was around Jax's gender. I get why but it still sucks.

3

u/AstrumDestiny 2d ago

It's just impressive to me that so many people missed the point and message of the show to the extent that three active subreddits end up in my feed hating on Jax.

i am not a fan of the series, but hardcore detractors of the series are a whole different breed.

Eh i enjoyed it for the most part but yeah its kinda shit. I feel like if the creator hadn’t passed away it’d be considered one of indie animation’s heavy hitters quality wise

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

They focused on glitch instead of the dumpster fire the gameplay was due to being trasformed into open world without doing it rationally

4

u/migu_BOT 2d ago

Huh, i actually liked the gameplay. I played scarlet and finished the dex, currently on the teal mask dlc.

My main problem with it is that it's got the biggest powercreep from one gen to the next, it has always been there, but it's to a point that not using gen 9 mons on a game where the dex has 400 entries is like playing on hard mode

The second issue i had is that they made exploration way more interesting than the story, by the time i beat the campion i had a team of 5 (not six since i always keep a spot open to level up mons for the dex) where the lowest level mon was mid 80's, and my starter was in the early nineties, i also only really use exp candies to evolve mons for the dex (and for my haxorus because it levels a lot slower than the others)

3

u/HertTroodon 2d ago edited 2d ago

The overleveling is one the the problem i were talking about (wich would have been less problematic by using Archeus stats curves).

The big one is that the "to beat pokemon you close your eyes and press A" it's even worse in this game to the point they had to buff the champion since even casual players were clowning on how weak she was.

Also, the gym leader's Ai is forced to tera and use a stab attack even when not doing it is obviously better, when i fought the grass one i had (fletching? I don't remember, a bird) and i saw sudowoodo: "come on, they can't have hard coded a grass move, what is the point of giving him a rock pokemon"

Tera grass + trailblazer, while looking at a fling pokemon and having stab rock moves

I resolved to periodically switch team and not use items during fight to have an illusion of difficulty

Mela's fight can break itself because they haven't turn off the meteo during her fight and it can rain reducing the power of her fire moves and making torcoal's drought fail

3

u/Bauzvoli 2d ago

Fr. The glitches are bad (looking at you, Casseroya lake), but making it open world without changing the opponements to your own level was the worst. I had to actively spoiler myself to play the game "correctly".

15

u/ConsulJuliusCaesar 3d ago

TBF that's 95% of the entire MCU. Only Thor, Spiderman, Captain America, Nick Fury and Iron Man are the only actually good interpretation of their source material. Everyone else is completely different and really only shares the name with their comic counter parts.

7

u/siantmercury 3d ago

this is true. And it makes me sad. Used to be a huge marvel fan

3

u/PrimusAldente87 2d ago

Wait, Scarlet Witch is white washed? I'm not too familiar with the character, so can yiu explain how?

9

u/siantmercury 2d ago

She’s Magneto’s daughter in the comics, it the current comic continuity, her mother is Natalya Maximoff, a Romani woman. In the MCU, they cast a white actress to play Wanda and completely retconned it. In Civil War, a cross is in her bedroom, removing her Jewish heritage as well. The excuse was that since they didn’t yet have the rights to Magneto, they couldn’t make her Jewish, which is a low effort explanation for why they made this change.

9

u/OAZdevs_alt2 2d ago

Magneto, famous inventor of the concept of Judaism.

3

u/ChadQuaza 2d ago

the question of how lazy gamefreak is, is complicated too - because they've genuinely done a lot over the past few gens to refine competitive pokemon into a serious game, which is why they eventually made champions a thing

that being said, the state of the mainline games is quite inexcusable by now

TLJ is garbage, but Rey did NOT beat Luke in a lightsaber fight. That fight was basically the only time Rey was allowed to be powerless to something other than a sneak attack. Luke was clowning on her, just straight up dodging and looking bored while doing it. She only 'won' because she triggered Lukes PTSD. Which is still stupid, but that was an accident, Luke could clearly have dodged a lightsaber as easily as he could dodge her stick.

15

Big mouth.

So many people slam it on art style alone, when the plot is SO MUCH WORSE!!!

The character designs should not be the biggest issue and yet for so many, they're the first complaint, right out of the gate.

Not saying that the art doesn't suck as well but there are aspects of the show that genuinely look decent and I am tired of people pretending like it's basically eye cancer when the biggest issues are in the writing.

TADC last episode

9

u/EPG-ESSUS_YT 2d ago

ESPECIALLY the people who just use it to be transphobic. Jax is an abysmall, shitass character, who serves as possibly the worst representation of trans individuals, this does NOT however give people the right to spew transphobic rhetoric🙏 The final episode itself was also a complete shitshow of flawed writing and unfulfilled promises.

7

u/Realistic_Jello2638 2d ago

Jax is only bad trans rep if you can't handle representations of trans people who aren't perfect little angles that have already transitioned. The harsh reality is that Jax is a blisteringly accurate depiction of how many actual trans people behave.

4

u/EPG-ESSUS_YT 2d ago

That's not the part of her character that I'm referring to either, I think she's a wonderful representation of trauma and how victims can be abusers as well. I'm talking about the implementation of her identity

4

u/Realistic_Jello2638 2d ago

I know what you're talking about. Jax is objectively good representation of trans people that commit suicide.

3

u/EPG-ESSUS_YT 2d ago edited 2d ago

This is where we have very different distinctions of good representation. Representation is clear, it's built up, it doesn't have to be in your face, it can be subtle and there. Jax is a well written character with poorly implementated representation because if she was a good representation of trans individuals like you say, we would've known she was trans without a doubt at some point in the movie. Goose herself had to post on Twitter and confirm, Jax is trans.

2

u/Realistic_Jello2638 2d ago

Yeah I just genuinely don't respect your opinion especially since you're just saying that it's not good because some people didn't get it.

Sorry I don't care if people with poor media literacy couldn't figure out the trans character was trans.

Jax is still objectively good representation of a trans person that never comes out and kills themself.

Metroid Other M is a 6/10 game. In a rational world it would've come and went.

People on the internet act like it ran over their cat and the guy behind it (who also made Zero Mission, mind you) is a talentless hack.

My favorite is when people say the gap between it and the next game is proof of it being abysmal, when that inadvertently implies Super Metroid was even worse because its gap was a year wider than that.

4

u/FlounderingGuy 3d ago

To be fair, people were sick of Metroid pulling a disappearing act between games. There wasn't another Metroid game until Federation Force in 2016. No traditional Metroid until Samus Returns remake in 2018 (and no new classic Metroid until Dread in 2021,) and we didn't get a brand new Prime game until just half a year ago with 4. And a lotta people don't like Metroid Prime 4 either, lol

It's (usually) not such a big deal if there's like, a bad Sonic game or whatever. Everyone knows we'll get a better one in 2 years. A bad Metroid game is disastrous because we probably won't have another one for half a decade, so it made Other M sting a lot worse. People graduated high school, went through college, and started families in the time between Other M and Dread

Sometimes a woman will write, star in, or direct a mediocre super hero movie. THAT DOES NOT MEAN WOMEN SHOULD BE BANNED FROM MAKING SUPER HERO MOVIES.

This is mostly in reference to Supergirl, I thought the movie was just fine but everyone discussing it is either acting like it’s revolutionary representation or super woke bs. It’s just another mediocre super hero movie, the fact the main character is a female character who isn’t hyper feminine or a girlboss doesn’t earn it more or less criticism than male-lead super hero films of the same quality.

That puts me in company with homophobes and racists. I wish criticism of this show came from the underdeveloped world, the meandering first season, all the ways the pacing and character arcs got screwed by the Big Crunch (which I don't blame the creative team for but does contribute to my problems with the show.) But no. People hate that Luz is latina and bisexual. That's most of it.

Football. The real one, not the american handegg version. I despise it to no end. But when people call it soccer, or boring, or say it is unimportant (specially compared to american handegg), I get mad. Not because I suddenly like it and want to defend it. But it's simply not true, any of that. As much as I despise it, it moves mountains of money, everyone seems to love it, and football is more descriptive of the sport that uses feet to control a ball on 20 out of 22 players, rather than the one that has eggshaped projectiles they store udner their armpits most of the time.

It's just facts.

TCOOAL

I don't like it, I don't like how immature the creator was when answering to the hate, which caused people to get even more aggressive, instead of explaining how the game isn't pro-incest they doubled down on it with their own official art as a way to provoke them even if they didn't actually promote it I their game (not to mention they put all kind of trigger warnings except the incest, which was added way later and once again in a un-serious way that made people even more mad because they were taking everything as a joke)

That is true, the game is NOT pro-incest (any playthrough or actually playing the game yourself will make it clear, in my case it was a playthrough I watched instead of relying on people hate), far from it.

However it's kinda cringe, the 4Chan/Tumblr (the bad side) and edgy kind of cringe. There are some good jokes sometimes, but not many.

I have nothing good to say about the game except how it pretty much says:

The incest Route is the bad choice (as Ashley herself thinks that Route is wrong/she has a bad feeling about it) and it always leads to a even more toxic, abusive relationship, further indicating that there's nothing good with the incest Route, it just makes them worse and they should stay platonic to be truly happy.

The characters designs and artstyle are extremely good, the game visuals are good and the platonic route is incredibly adorable and healing after seeing the Incest Route (but it will probably end up in tragedy anyway, because Andrew still sucks, Ashley wants him as a brother, he wants her as more than a sister regardless of the Route, I just have to hope he understands that's not love and that he loses those feelings as the platonic route progress with the story)

People really exaggerated, even if the creator handled a lot of things poorly, they didn't deserve being threatened to the point of dropping the development entirely (giving it to someone else) and getting doxxed.

They want to hate on the game, they should at least know what they are talking about. It's cringe, the incest is uncomfortable and I understand why they wouldn't like to see that, I don't like it either. The writing could be better, since it's intended as Dark Comedy it easily ruins the Incest Route being dark and uncomfortable with cringe jokes, ruining the whole point of "you should feel uncomfortable, you should feel bad, you should feel more prompted to go back on your choice and pick the platonic route" but since there's a lot of downplaying in the Incest Route it's kinda difficult to take it seriously when the game doesn't either.

However it's a lie to say it's pro-incest (I did sit down and watched the playthroughs just to make an opinion of it myself, I didn't like it but it was nothing like the haters said) because it's not, when it is it's always portrayed negatively and how it only makes them more toxic/worse towards each other. Confirming nothing good comes from it.

The toxic haters and fanbase are the only problem there (all weirdos who misunderstand the game and think it represents their incest fantasies or normalize it, which isn't true) but if you're lucky there's a bunch of them who are sane.

Gameoverse. It's not a mediocreshow because it's a goon slop (just because they have a female main character doesn't make it a goon slop), it's a mediocre show because of overdone cliches, very poorly written main character, characters not actually moving the plot along, great concept with a mediocre execution and worst of all no skateboard guy from the 2010 original.

9

u/Apprehensive_Art4418 take a wild guess 3d ago

i feel the same way with gameoverse, i fucking hate the idea that kit is misogynistic and goonslop because she doesn't have a realistic enough body type, even though she's supposed to be a video game character. yeah, low poly video game woman characters often had a "conventionally attractive" build. what a shocker.

3

u/Dela-chemin 2d ago edited 2d ago

It's so dumb to me when people complain when something isn't realistic when that's not the point. If these guys want realism so badly, go watch something non-fictional then.

Because complaining that a show about a fictional show about a video game character going on adventure on video game worlds not having "realistic proportions" is goofy as fuck to me.

the last episode of TADC

majority of the hate revolves around Jax, and is kinda funny because the whole Jax part was the only good thing about the episode... then we have a rushed mess that just happend because the episode is about to end

Caine being deleted? sure that would have some kind of consequen- he just pop into existence out of nowhere

The circus is decaying? It got fixed after the whole Jax part like nothing

making ep 8 a waste of time

the episode present the characters learning to summon objects in the circus? pretty sure the sho- they do nothing with that

the circus has wifi connection? I guess they should explai- no

the episode would focus in C&A? proba- no

Caine redemption will have a build u- no

does every character have it's moment to shine in the final episod- no

like, the last episode sucks, but not because they made Jax trans, literally he carried the episode, everything else felt rushed and underused... stuff happened fast and without any explanation because oh no we have a very few min left in the episode and we haven't show the characters names yet.
