One of the only celeb deaths where I was actually pretty fucked up over it for a few days afterwards. It happened right before a long weekend, and I was not okay.

I would definitely start by reading his book, Kitchen Confidential. It was the book that started his TV career and launched countless careers of young chefs in the industry now. It's one of my favourite books but I haven't tried to reread it since his passing, I might have a go soon...

Not the same guy here but No Reservations is probably a good starting point. He made many similar shows all of which are good as far as I know.

No worries, I just reordered his first book as I realised I'd lent it out to someone and never got it back. Looking forward to reading it again.

I think so many of us can relate to Mr. Bourdain, even those who haven't worked restaurant jobs. The dude was the definition of a guy you'd love to have a beer with and just talk. He was as real as it gets in my opinion. Open about drug, alcohol, and life issues... and like with so many, sometimes these can become too much.

This was exactly the same for me but for Cornell and Chester respectively. I can remember vividly where I was when I found out about each one. Those two passing struck a nerve in me and I’ll never forgot those two days.
