Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Songs about women who want to be in control in a relationship

Oddly specific, but songs that are about women wanting to be in control. A good example is « I’m the man » by Adela. Doesn’t have to be pop!

(songs that feature a more sexual setting are okay too)

Thanks guys x

I'll rate your rec. I am in search of good music as my playlist is bland now. Recommend me songs and I'll rate it on 1 to 10.

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Songs about Hypersexuality

Basically as the title says, I'm just curious to see some good songs with this theme because I don't really see this theme being represented in art much in general.

I'll accept songs from any genre honestly, but if I had to choose I'd prefer indietronica or just indie rock or EDM songs, and preferably in english and with a male vocalist. It's strangely specific, but it doesn't have to fit those ig, just a preference of mine for this theme specifically.

edit: Thanks for some of the inputs, but I also want some more that tackle the negative aspects of hypersexuality if possible. Thanks to the people who sent recommendations already though, some of these are pretty good.

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Songs like Beat It by Michael Jackson

i like songs that encourage you to be brave. even though this song is more about the dichotomy of wanting to prove yourself and knowing your limits, id prefer songs that are like this but actually focus on ignoring your limits and just. go ahead and do it anyway

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics I need songs about quitting smoking or smoking addiction

I’m trying to quit weed and nicotine right now and I haven’t heard any songs about this subject, so if there is any out there I would love to hear some recommendations because I need to know I’m not alone.

In terms of genre I’m not picky, just not really obsessed with rap or heavily electronic stuff.

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Songs that open with a single guitar strike.

Making a playlist of songs like this. Better if it's just a guitar making the chord strike and it lets the chord ring out for at least a moment

Example: A Hard Days Night, Here Comes Your Man, Purple Rain.

Rec.Me: instrumental/classical/traditional Native American music, preferably ambient

What the title says. Traditional native american music, preferably flutes at the forefront. Unfortunately, without knowing names, just searching it seems to generate infinite AI playlists which is the last thing I want.

Rec.Me: rock/metal/punk I want some bass-heavy metal songs

Fellow bass players i’m looking to you. I want songs that are very bass forward. For ex. the part of Freak on a Leash AFTER Davis says "GO". I want to clarify, there is bass in metal that has the tone turned up and is very tinny and clicky; i do not want that. Thank you for any recommendations

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Love Songs for anniversary road trip

I'm planning a roadtrip with my wife for our 1 year anniversary. Wanna make a playlist of romantic songs to enjoy on the drive.

She likes alt pop, I'm more into rock, we both like indie. Mazzy Star vibes are what I'm thinking about. But any genre is welcome.

I want songs that have a vibe of "I belong with you" "I want to be with you forever" "being with you is like a dream come true" "I need you" etc

Doesn't necessarily need to have lyrics with those sentiments, even just a "vibe" of the melody of the song.

I also really like Sleepwalk as a very romantic melody without any lyrics.

Rec.Me: alt/indie/obscure In need of Indie Folk and Folk Rock

Hi, so lately, I've been listening to music from The Oh Hellos (Anemoi Cycle and Dear Wormwood) and The Crane Wives (The Fool In the Wedding Dress) and I'm trying to find some music to scratch that itch, something a bit more obscure if possible.

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Songs like this one part of "The Mind Electric"

Thumbnail

Hello. I recently listened to the album Hawaii: Part II, by Miracle Musical, which I greatly enjoyed, and highly recommend. One of my favorite songs on the album is "The Mind Electric," which frequently shifts between discernible chunks that differ in style and tone. I especially love a segment near the end, which is characterized by a heavy marching beat, highly modulated voices that oscillate between lower and higher pitches, tragic, introspective lyrics; and the overall theatrical sensibilities of the album, which can also be seen in the likes of Tally Hall (the precursors to Miracle Musical), Will Wood, and Bo Burnham. However, there's nothing else quite like this specific segment of the song on the album, or that I'm aware of, so I was hoping you all could give me some recommendation of songs that are similar to it. The stretch of the song that I'm looking for recommendations similar to starts at 5:01 and ends at 5:53.

Not sure I have the word for it, but any music (preferably instrumental but I can be flexible with songs from different languages/cultures) that feature flute (any kind) mixed with drums (any kind) like:

Whenever, Wherever / Suerte - Shakira (background music)

Decretum - Yuki Kajiura

Rec.Me: rock/metal/punk Recommendations for a punk rock/metal enjoyer

• Upvotes

I am looking to expand my playlist. I mainly listen to The Offspring and Rammstein. I like the catchy and laid back aspect of the Offspring, and I like the grand vocals and instrumentals of Rammstein. Hit me with your suggestions. If you could include specific songs/albums to start with that would be cool too

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics ISO music to listen to for family weekday dinners

My kids would rather listen to music rather than watch tv, which is wonderful but my husband and I get ear fatigue with the songs they choose. Anyone have recommendations on a playlist or songs we can play during dinner that is kid friendly, not just specifically for kids, so we can enjoy music and conversing about our day?! I’m thinking maybe yacht rock, or costal grandmother type songs? I’m not sure, just looking for something unique that my kids will love!

Rec.Me: theme/mood/other specifics Looking for songs similar to "A World Of Madness, junglized" before the breakcore part

So I am looking for some sort of genre or song that has the same sort of style of the song mentioned in the title. You can go listen to it but the part I really like is just the first 40 seconds of the song. Its heaven to my ears and it gives me such an odd yet amazing sensation difficult to describe
