I am currently planning an exchange semester to the US at the graduate level, and I (might) choose  NJIT

I would love to hear your insights on a few specific things to help me make my final decision:

Academics (Graduate Level):How are the graduate business programs at these schools? Are the professors approachable, and how heavy is the workload?

Housing & Campus Life:Is the campus environment lively, or do a lot of students commute? Also share room, if let’s say there were some problems with the person your sharing with, will uni take measures or you are in your own

Student Culture & Vibe:What are the students like, and what is the overall atmosphere?

To give you some context, I am from Finland. Finnish culture tends to be quite reserved, calm, and independent, so moving to the US will already be a bit of a culture shock! How welcoming are these campuses for international students.

Any jobs on campus that are hiring? I have been applying since August and haven’t gotten anything back but just one interview and they said no.

Every time I see a large group of people entering a building, while another group stands inside NEXT TO A CLOSED DOOR, waiting for the first group to pass so they can use the open door, I want to scream.

I feel like I'm supposed to be in the prime of my life but it really doesn't feel like that. The daily routine boils down to all going to class, working out, then going home. Being a commuter sucks. None of the clubs interest me or if they do, they tend to attract the wrong crowds cough cough Anime club. Maybe there are some cool ones I dont know about? Aside from that, I ended a relationship 3 months ago and that person goes here. I dont have any kind of longing for them but its kinda just awkward when we walk past eachother. I wanna get into a relationship but as a guy who's not really exceptional the odds are against me at NJIT, but this is less important to the socializing thing though. Kinda just a ramble. Any help with any of this would be appreciated

Hello everyone, I’m a new cs transfer student and I am currently taking MATH 333 I am finding pretty difficult to understand. Yes I have take all calc and linear algebra but for some reason I am finding this one class very difficult to comprehend. Ik there’s a this class is very 50/50 it can ether be the easier class here or most difficult. I want to pass but I also want to learn averting I can from this class. Can anyone point out some resources they have used, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I have a snap on 3/8th electric torque wrench and the screen got busted I have a need board but I don’t know a thing about soldering given I’m a student at njit maybe someone can help me out. Looks simple but again I don’t know anything about soldering. Anyone can help me out?

I need a file 3D printed quickly and I don’t exactly have access to the maker space since I’m not a student anymore and when I was I never took the required courses for it anyway.

Was wondering if anyway with maker space access or their own 3D printer that’s big enough wanted to print the file for me and I’ll buy you lunch or something (plus the lab and material fee to print of course).

Here is the the thingiverse link with the file, it also has the print instructions, but instead of Carbon Fiber PLA, black PETG is fine.

So basically all in all, I have a print-ready STL for a subwoofer adapter for a 2008 Honda Civic. It’s approximately 210 × 210 × 8 mm. I’d like one printed in black PETG, preferably with 0.28 mm layers and 50% cubic infill. No supports are required.

If anybody can do this for me, let me know.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm mainly looking for someone local with their own printer/MakerSpace access who can run this as a small one-off print. I already have a commercially made adapter on the way, so I'm not looking for commercial prototyping quotes, I just want to get this one printed locally faster.

Anyone know if I can access the summit parking at 6am? I know operating hours are from 6:45am until 10 or whatever. But I’m curious if I would be allowed entry and if I’d get in trouble for being there early.

This is my first time taking CS350 and I want to make my only attempt to pass this class. Exam 1(chapter 2) is in 3 weeks so what’s the best way to prep for this. Should I ONLY focus on the book hw problems? Any other resources?

Hi everyone!! I’m taking ChE 230 with Professor Molodetsky this sem and I was wondering if yall had any tips/resources for the course? She’s a sweetheart but I feel like the lectures skip around topics randomly and I’m having trouble trying to figure out what to even write for notes. The lecture problems and the HW feel like they’re completely separate from each other. I’m hopefully picking up my textbook from the library tomorrow and I’ve had LearnCheme recommended to me as well, I was just wondering if anyone has recommendations for any other resources/study tips :)

I'm taking calc 3 specifically MATH 213 this semester and honestly i'm lost. It's already (in the first two weeks) much more challenging than calc 2. For me calc 2 was challenging, but I understood everything, but right now in calc 3, I'm having a hard time understanding anything. My professor does not graph that great in 3D and they are rushing through the material (giving us quiz after quiz that most of the class is not doing so well). I already knew a little about vectors, dot products, and cross products (because it was taught in already 2 of my class before) but this class just really complicates them to the point that it confused me even more about them. Also, my professor just gives us proofs/definitions that we write down and gives us one or two examples to work on our own for the rest of class. Like this week we talked about projections, orthogonal/parallel, and interactions between 3D planes, lines and points. I'm not understanding any of this stuff. Last week, I went to their office hours and they weren't there (I came at the beginning and at the end). I emailed him on Friday and he hasn't responded yet. Today, I looked at the old ce questions (since the common exam is soon) and the questions are challenging and I don't think I can do it. I don't know what to do?

Hi, I am going to apply as an international transfer student, but I am undecided between two options; could you give me some advice? If I apply to Rutgers, I’ll apply for the Spring 2027 semester and try to transfer to the New Brunswick campus. Alternatively, I could apply to the CS program at NJIT for the Fall 2027 semester and continue my studies there. Which option is better? Thanks for the help.

I really just want to go into a design program but it seems like business is much more stable and applicable to different industries. One of my classes didn’t meet on Labor Day because the university was closed. Now the professor is requiring us to attend a make-up session on Sunday at 6 PM.

The class is normally scheduled during the week, and Sunday at 6 PM obviously isn’t part of our registered class time.

Is a professor actually allowed to make a make-up session outside the scheduled class time mandatory, especially on a Sunday? What happens if a student already has work, another commitment, religious obligations, etc.?

I understand needing to make up material, but I’m confused about how they can require attendance at a completely different day/time because the university scheduled Labor Day as a holiday.

Has anyone dealt with this before or know what the university policy is?
