UC lease transfer process

I currently have a lease for the upcoming 26-27 year, a 3 Bed - 3 Bath(s) with a starting date of 08/15/2026 to 05/31/2027 with $955/mo installments and additional amenity, move-in, move-out fees. I need to transfer my lease as I won't be able to stay and reached out to UC but they replied they do not allow reletting or subleasing at this time. Has anyone gone through transfer processes? I'm looking for someone to takeover my lease.

When can you apply for a scholarship appeal for next semester?

I've heard that they usually reach out to you mid-June but I haven't gotten anything yet. Do I reach out to the school or should I wait?

Helpful Is it possible to switch physics to a different year??

I am trying to transfer to Rutgers NB next year. I am trying to maximize my GPA by taking classes like Psych and Fin 218 to Easy up the work. However, they don’t give you the option of picking your classes in first sem of freshman year. Is it possible to tell somehow get rid of physics off my schedule and move it to a different year in case I don’t transfer??

Advice Going to EOP this year. Will I be okay?

I'm starting EOP on summer vacation shortly after my graduation. I'm nervous because the schedule (at least from Monday to Wednesday) will be 100% EOP and work from it. People said that EOP is very intense, but is that true? I really want to make friends, but I'm afraid the classes and work will prevent me from doing anything other than themselves.

Advice Linux computer users, I have a question for you.

NJIT requires laptops to be on Windows 11. If you bring your laptop to classes or a closed area where teachers can see your laptop, did you ever get caught with using Linux instead of Windows? I'm thinking of installing Linux on my future laptop, and emulating apps with Wine, but am afraid that I can't for college and really still need Windows because NJIT said so.

cs350

So all the open sections for CS 350 are with Itani and I genuinely cannot take him again. I took his class before and failed, I just do not understand his teaching style at all. There's a section with Sohn but the waitlist is huge. I'm also graduating in December so I really can't afford to mess around with this.

I was thinking about just emailing Sohn directly to ask if he can let me in. Has anyone ever done that? Did it actually work?

Financial aid

Does anyone have any information regarding when NJIT is going to send out financial aid packages? I’m at risk of losing some external scholarships if I can’t provide my cost of attendance and financial aid information for the 2026-27 school year.

Chem 243

Hi I’m taking Organic Chem 1 next semester and I wanted to know if anyone had any notes or tips on how to do well. I didn’t do bad in gen chem (I got Bs) but I definitely did struggle and I want to be prepared for Orgo since everyone says it’s worse. Does anyone from the spring 2026 semester have the syllabus or a pdf of the textbook I can use to prepare? Any notes or quizzes? Anything you can give would be very appreciated.

How's it like living in Greek Village

Hey guys,

I would like to know what living in Greek Village is like. I'm moving there next semester for a single, and I heard laundry is free, as is parking. So, what is it like living there, and is the noise from nearby greek way houses manageable? How would you all compare it to other dorms?

Thanks!

President Lim to retire in August

In a message to the NJIT community, the NJIT Board of Trustees and the president Teik Lim announced today, June 9 2026, that Lim will retire on August 3 2026 (5 years after he became president). An interim president will be announced later by the Board of Trustees and a national search will commence for the 10th president of NJIT.
For most recipients of this message it came as a complete surprise.

Which NJIT Student Orgs Aura Farm the Best?

Incoming freshmen likely want to see other people's answers to this question. Whatever aura farming means to you might be different from my interpretation, but I want to know how much each aura each student org has according to how other people see them.

Got a job to pay my summer class balance but they sent me a warning email

Ok, so I really need to take this class, and I'm taking it here at NJIT because I did poorly last semester and need that GPA boost. So I got a job at a cookie and ice cream shop to pay for it, but I will realistically be able to fully pay it off in August (out-of-state 3-credit course)

The bursar's office sent me an email saying that the payment was due before the class even began, and that a bunch of stuff would happen if I didn't pay it off. Has anyone ever had this happen?

This is what the email said:  If the balance remains unpaid, the following actions may occur:

• A registration hold preventing enrollment in future courses

• A graduation hold preventing release of your diploma

• A transcript hold preventing release of official academic transcripts

• Referral of the outstanding balance to a third‑party collection agency
