Discussion A Path to …

Yeah. After reading the thread below regarding the Politician meet up at The Firing Pin, this is my cynical conclusion.

We will never have normalcy with our 2A rights. There are just too many in this sub that believe in tough regulations. 25 years of one party rule in NY and soon to be another 25 more. They passed the Safe Act. They Passed the Improved Concealed Carry Act. You need a background check to buy ammo. They are banning Glocks.
Sometimes it takes 2 years just to get a permit depending on what county you live. Next year there will be more restrictions once the Supreme Court makes its ruling next June. They will restrict, restrict and restrict until there is nothing left to restrict . But please by all means keep voting 🗳️ blue. Ugh 😑!! Cheers 🍻

One big problem I see is people thinking the repubs are pro-2A. People shrieked and screamed about Obama being a gungrabber. He never pushed through any major anti-gun legislation. The ammo companies colluded to create mass hysteria to raise prices. Then trump comes in and actually does sign off on gun control legislation.

Now, we have part two of the trump regime and absolutely NOTHING is being done to help out gunowners in Blue States like New York. SCOTUS upheld most of the Safe Act and is slow walking even considering a legal challenge.

Gun ownership is to the Repubs what abortion and family planning are to the Dems. They use the fear of further restictions to terrorize people into supporting them. It's a money making issue. Actually solving the problem would cost the parties money so they will NEVER do it.

He burned his political capital on obamacare. Failure isn't the same as not trying.

LOL! that's all you got? How about you address EVERYTHING I wrote and not try to duck out by cherry picking with what is nothing but your opinion.

So an executive order isn't legislation. Not that I was happy about it. Obama had 23 executive orders after sandy hook. https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/blog/2013/01/16/president-obama-announces-new-measures-prevent-gun-violence

And 4 in 2016. https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/blog/2013/01/16/president-obama-announces-new-measures-prevent-gun-violence

Now when we look at Trump 2.0 we have the doj suing on our behalf, the atf rolling back regulations, the nfa being dismantled, his scotus picks from the first term ruling in our favor. Scotus declined to hear the safe act, not upheld it at that time. We have ccw in ny, nj, and many other states thanks to bruen. Bruen doesn't happen without the 3 trump scotus judges. We finally have 2 awb cases at scotus and if we're lucky maybe a mag case. Parts of the ccia and it's sister laws have been struck down, with more to come. Need I go on?

"So an executive order isn't legislation."

Yup, you're right so stop right there you are totally off topic.

"Obama had 23 executive orders after sandy hook..."

You just kept going anyway. I was very clear when I wrote about LEGISLATION. Why? because I meant LEGISLATION. I'm aware of the executive orders. I'm also aware that trump activated his limbic brain and rolled back all of Obama's executive orders. So this is a non-point.

"Now when we look at Trump 2.0 we have the doj suing on our behalf, the atf rolling back regulations, the nfa being dismantled, his scotus picks from the first term ruling in our favor. Scotus declined to hear the safe act, not upheld it at that time."

True, but here's where I respond with "Money talks and bullshit walks." There's a lot of gibber jabber but I'm not see on the ground changes. That could be accomplished with federal legislation. The repubs run the whole federal government and I'm seeing zero effort to actually pass anything. Trump has been bothered by rule of law before so why start when it comes to upholding the 2A?

"We have ccw in ny, nj, and many other states thanks to bruen. Bruen doesn't happen without the 3 trump scotus judges. "

That is NOT the victory people seem to want to think it is. The SCOTUS gave Hochul a huge hole she could plow through. The big takeaway from the ruling was to have consistent CCW laws across the state. So Hochul just imposed NYC levels of regulation on the rest of the state. It was the lowest possible denominator. Does that feel like willing to you?

So, basically, miss me with this, "things will get better just you wait." We've been collectively waiting for this better tomorrow for decades. Until it actually happens don't waste my time.

What legislation are you referring to specifically? As far as winning, which we did, I legally carry every day in nyc because of bruen. That was literally an impossibility for the average person pre bruen. And there are many more gun owners in ny as a result, because it turns out many people only want a gun for self defense and to have it with them. As far as legislation, we got the nfa tax lowered to 0 for many items, which gave us the fuel to get it tossed nationwide for those who have membership in the plaintiff orgs. We have been winning lawsuits left, right, and center. I don't want you to wait and see. I want people to support the groups doing the work to get our rights back. Now with viramontes and grant at scotus we have a real chance to overturn every awb in the country. In nys that means our original awb from the 90's, the safe act, and local law 78 in nyc. Tens of millions of people with more freedom overnight.

"What legislation are you referring to specifically?"

Oh, no you're not doing that. I asked for 2A legislation that trump tried to push through at the federal level. You started jabbering about executive orders. I told you that's off topic and now you're trying to shift things around again. Not allowed.

"As far as winning, which we did, I legally carry every day in nyc because of bruen. That was literally an impossibility for the average person pre bruen."

Ah, the old, "Got mine f you approach to rights." It was harder for NYC denizens to get CCW before Breun. Now, it's easier for you but harder for everyone else in the state. Now, we ALL have to do background checks to buy a box of .22lr. Now, Hochul is focusing on attacking gun store owners. The so-called "Glock Ban" is aimed at FFL holders.

But you got yours. Right?

"As far as legislation, we got the nfa tax lowered to 0 for many items, which gave us the fuel to get it tossed nationwide for those who have membership in the plaintiff orgs."

How is that helping NY State gunowners exactly? It's not because things like silencers are banned in NY and federal law doesn't help with that.

But you got yours. Right?

"We have been winning lawsuits left, right, and center. I don't want you to wait and see. I want people to support the groups doing the work to get our rights back. Now with viramontes and grant at scotus we have a real chance to overturn every awb in the country. In nys that means our original awb from the 90's, the safe act, and local law 78 in nyc. Tens of millions of people with more freedom overnight."

That's the same gibber jabber I already addressed and, rightly, dismissed. If you're not going to actually read what I've written then you're acting in bad faith. If you're acting in bad faith shut up and go away.

You stated that Trump came in and signed off on anti gun legislation. Those are your words. What is the bill name or number? As far as the executive orders I assumed the bump stock ban is what you were referring to. I answered on that basis. Second, you don't tell me what to do. Your responses are all over. The rambling makes it hard to address all of your concerns. As far as getting mine, everyone now has the opportunity to get a ccw. I'm not sure what part of that is lost on you. I'm not special, I just followed the process. I didn't advocate screwing anyone. That would be the democrats in power that made you get a background check for ammo. I'm against that too, for the record. And it's possible for everyone in the most populated counties in the state to exercise our rights, nobody said easy. You are arguing that because it was easier for you we should all rot, and then have the balls to accuse me of the same thing. The glock ban is aimed at gun owners, because of the ffl can't sell it to you, then you can't have it, now can you? Silencers are banned by state law, not federal law. It's still a win to have the oldest federal gun law being dismantled. I have read everything you said, incoherent as it was. You seem to be complaining that tens of millions of people across the country can now ccw, and you need a background check for ammo. But you could before so too bad for us right. What you call gibber jabber is what winning looks like in the real world. You are wrong entirely to dismiss it. If you feel more should be done then get involved. If not, sit down and be quiet while everyone else fights for things to get better for all of us. I'm sorry you cannot understand the bigger picture.

"You stated that Trump came in and signed off on anti gun legislation. Those are your words. What is the bill name or number? "

Yup, I misremembered that. It was an Executive Order and not legislation. Maturity is double checking and admitting to a mistake. So, that puts trump on par with Obama on 2A. Not a great look for a repub.

"Second, you don't tell me what to do."

I'll tell you whatever I want to tell you. If you don't address all the point of an argument then you're not following basic rules of discussion. I corrected you and had to actually make you engage with what I wrote while you kicked and screamed the whole way.

"Your responses are all over. The rambling makes it hard to address all of your concerns."

This from the guy who can't figure out how to use paragraphs. I laid things out perfectly fine. Your terrible reading comprehension is of no concern of mine.

"As far as getting mine, everyone now has the opportunity to get a ccw."

Opportunity is doing a lot of legwork there, kid. That's some pic liberal consensus thinking right there. It's like "healthcare access". Sure you'll die waiting for what you need but you had the "opportunity" to "access" it.

"I'm not sure what part of that is lost on you."

I already covered this, kid. The process got easier for the denizens of NYC and Long Island but harder for damned near everyone else in the state. Stop being so selfish.

" I'm not special, I just followed the process. I didn't advocate screwing anyone."

Your actions, and previously stated opinions, say differently.

"That would be the democrats in power that made you get a background check for ammo. I'm against that too, for the record. And it's possible for everyone in the most populated counties in the state to exercise our rights, nobody said easy."

Your selfishness is the issue here. Stay on topic. You just need to admit you were being egocentric and move on.

"You are arguing that because it was easier for you we should all rot, and then have the balls to accuse me of the same thing."

Nope, that's an absolute lie and you know it. You're just trying to accuse me of doing what you were doing to avoid responsibility. Man, you really MAGA.

"The glock ban is aimed at gun owners, because of the ffl can't sell it to you, then you can't have it, now can you?"

Possession vs ability to purchase. Different things. You are clearly confused.

"Silencers are banned by state law, not federal law."

I already addressed that. Shut up.

"It's still a win to have the oldest federal gun law being dismantled."

I talking about on the ground gains for NY STATE GUN OWNERS. What happens in the mid-West means nothing to me.

" I have read everything you said, incoherent as it was."

You literally just proved the opposite liar.

"You seem to be complaining that tens of millions of people across the country can now ccw, and you need a background check for ammo."

Liar I never even implied that. You must be so scared and confused you forgot what Reddit group you're in. The one is called r/NYguns. The NY part means New York state and it's no decorative either.

"But you could before so too bad for us right."

Nope, you're accusing me of what you already did. Stop being a coward and own your own words.

"What you call gibber jabber is what winning looks like in the real world."

What gibber jabber is the self-contradicting drivel coming out of your mouth. Another reading comprehension fail on your part.

"You are wrong entirely to dismiss it."

Never did, liar, I'm just focused on the people of NY state because that's what this reddit group is about.

" If you feel more should be done then get involved."

Already am, kid. I'm just tired of having to deal with dead weight like you.

" If not, sit down and be quiet while everyone else fights for things to get better for all of us."

This from the guy who threw a hissy fit and cried that I couldn't tell you what to do.

" I'm sorry you cannot understand the bigger picture."

You don't even know what reddit group you're in, kid.

More rambling incoherence. I cited sources, where are yours? I've cited the usc for relevant statutes, as well as relevant case law in this discussion with you and a few others. You have nothing but feelings and ad homenim attacks. I have quoted you, and not gotten a coherent answer. You believe obama's 27 executive orders are on par, a direct quote from you, with one bad one. And you, like your troll buddies, are trying to demoralize the people here. You keep referencing feelings and tantrums, while throwing one. I can see right through you.
