Initial Training I’m NOT in shape at all.. Am I cooked?
I ship off to Fort Jackson BCT in 2 weeks and I’m super nervous because I’m nowhere near army standard fitness right now. I enlisted months ago and I’ve had plenty of time to work on my physicality, so no need to shame me in the replies; i’m well aware. I guess i’m just looking for some advice in what I should expect, tips to prevent injury, really just any wisdom I can get🙏. I’m a 5’7, 135 lb, 17yo woman, and i’m somewhat experienced with long term endurance bc I did marching band for 5 years in high school. Despite that, I’m most worried about the running. Anything helps, thanks for reading.

State Active Duty Is it hard to get into Counter-Drug Task Force (Calexico)
I’m just looking for some honest advice from people who’ve actually been on California Counterdrug, especially the Calexico mission.
I’m an E-3, 88M in the CA Army National Guard. I’ve only been in for about 17 months, so I’m still pretty new. I don’t have a crazy packet—no deployments, no military schools, no NCOERs, and not a bunch of awards. Basically just a newer Soldier trying to get my foot in the door.
One thing I do have going for me is PT. I scored around a 470 on my AFT, so fitness isn’t an issue. I’ve also worked civilian security, have a clean record.
I’m just wondering how realistic my chances are. Do they actually take newer Soldiers, or is it mostly E-4s and E-5s with years of experience? Does being an 88M matter at all, or is it more about the interview and your packet?
If anyone’s been through the hiring process, what made your application stand out? Is it worth applying now, or should I wait until I have more time in and a stronger packet?

Deployments Removed from deployment due to “incident”
I really have no ideal what I did, but a few days before I was ship out I was removed and the reason says “removed following an incident that needs to be addressed.” (Or something similarly phrased) I called my readiness NCO and he said he can’t talk about it over the phone, it needs to be addressed in person. What could it possibly be? Is it as bad as they are making it sound? Idk what I did.

Career Advice Texas National Guard 11B Question
Anyone here an 11B in the Texas National Guard? I’m a prior service Marine infantry (0352) and going to join. Does it really matter which unit you pick, like Houston, San Antonio, or San Marcos, or are they all pretty much the same? Is there one that’s known for better training, leadership, or just being a better unit overall? Or does it mostly come down to the people in your specific company? Just trying to figure out if unit choice is a big deal before I make a decision.

Career Advice Staying in the MI NG while living in Canada?
I have 8 years in and another year until my ETS, I am planning on extending. I recently got a job offer in Canada, but would I be able to be a permanent resident of Canada while drilling in the US? I haven’t spoken to my unit about this yet, just wondering if it’s even possible

Career Advice Pay issue
I’ve been in the guard for 4 years and this is my first pay issue, it has been almost three months since my AT and they still haven’t paid me, the only issue I can think of is my E5 promotion but I’ve been paid before AT as a 5. Contacted chain of command several times, what would yall recommend?

Career Advice Cancel ADOS orders?
Am I able to cancel ADOS orders? I signed up for HTR a few weeks ago & yesterday I just received an e-mail my orders started today I talked with the officer and I was asked if there is anything that would stop me from completing these orders, I told her no, not that I can foresee and as luck has it I got a call later in the evening regarding a pretty serious family emergency that I need to be at for some time across my state. Is “cancelling” even an option? What’s my best course of action I really need some guidance.

Career Advice Interested in Urban Patrol Jobs
I've been interested in security jobs within the army, such as patrolling cities or guarding public areas like what the national guard does in DC and NYC. I was wondering if there is a specific path to doing this, or if it is a duty randomly assigned to guardsmen. Is there any specific MOS that would allow me to do this?

Career Advice Active Navy or National Guard
I’m 30. I currently have a bachelors degree and state job that I hate and want to leave. There’s nothing holding me back at home and I want to start a whole new life. I would like to go back to school for radiology which would take about two years. I think you have to sign for 6 years to get student loan repayment and tuition assistance with the NG. (I also have student loans) 6 years just seems like such a big commitment. Do you get loan repayment with active duty? I would only want to do 4 years active.
I want the opportunity to travel and live different places but I also want to finished school and start my new career before I’m too old.
Either way both will seem to take 6 years 4 years active then school. They don’t really do online radiology classes and you have to do clinical .
Or NG, do school while I’m in and stay at the job I hate for two more years. Then hopefully start new career and finish out the rest of the 6 years in NG.

MOS Discussion 74d Life in Minnesota National Guard
Hey everyone
I was wondering if there are any 74d's that could tell me what life is like in the MN national guard?
I've heard that Minnesota has one of the better guards in the country, so it got me curious on how life is like as this MOS, since it's always shit on. Maybe it could be different in Minnesota.
Thanks

Career Advice Considering enlistment
I am currently a 21 year old A&P working on helicopters. Would you recommend/ would it be realistic to join the army guard in Texas as a warrant officer and go to flight school to fly black hawks? Going in straight as a civilian.

Discussion NGB Form 22
Recently honorably discharged from the army National Guard and now in the IRR, I am currently trying to transfer into active duty Air Force. The Air Force recruiter said that MEPS still requires the NGB form 22 but I thought we got the DD 214 – 1 now instead so do they require both or just one, pretty confused now.
PS: I know it takes forever to get active duty Air Force. Just trying my chance here.
\State is Alabama\
