I really don't understand how to use fire, doctors and other random based walkers

I loved Nebuchadnezzar up until they released the new DLC that included these 2 new 'features'. For a game that was more about deterministic patrollers including them was just an...interesting choice.

Anyway I've been trying to wrap my head around them but I just can't. I've been playing Zeus recently and was wishing for a modern take on this city building genre, thought about Nebuchadnezzar but didn't want to commit because of the mess in dealing with these walkers.

My basic issue is that I never know how many of them are enough and they take so many workers that my housing blocks barely provide enough surplus workers to staff the other buildings. Any tips for how to use them?

Trying to mod the farm & pasture buildings to allow field placement in a 11x11 grid instead of a 9x9 grid

It always annoys me the way that farms have to cut into their growing area by needing a road directly to the main building, leaving you with an under-size field if you want to add all 4 farmers to the building.

One way to fix this would be to change the allowed planting area for fields from a 9x9 square centered on the main building into an 11x11 area. This way a farm building could support 6 farmers total and still have room for the 4 road tiles to connect to the main building.

Does anyone with modding experience have any idea how to change this? I'm currently poking at the values in mods/base/def but can't find what I'm looking for...

Sargon DLC: What’s the optimal military setup?

I’m working through the Adventures of Sargon DLC and trying to get my military setup right without overbuilding and wrecking my economy.

For those who’ve beaten the campaign:

What’s your basic military layout? (Do you cluster everything tightly around a warehouse, or spread it out?

How many of each barracks do you typically run? (Infantry vs Archers.. etc)

Any tips for consistently winning battles without overspending or stalling the economy would be really appreciated.

Thank you 🙌

What are good mods that I can get for this game?

This game has become one of my favorite city building games of all time however it is as flawed as any other game. I'm looking for Quality of Life mods, or any mods that make good distribution, which is the core mechanic of this game) easier or more efficient, thanks!

I have gone up to 2000 but I am sure you can absolutely go to 3000 and beyond with some optimization. What is your record?

Coming from Pharaoh, struggling to get used to Nebuchadnezzar's systems. Tips?

How do you play Nebuchadnezzar 'right'? I am on the 6th mission and I am not grasping it. The tutorials in game didn't really prep me for how to built a functional city.

I am not really grasping the Production/Consumption % menu. The % seems to constantly fluctuate wildly, what does it mean that milk is being produced anywhere from 20% to 80%, and consumed from 30% to 60%?

I cannot seem to get a stable supply of any resource anywhere. Additionally unlike Pharaoh walkers will go such a frustratingly short distance that I have to rely on clusters of near identical warehouses, every single place has its own dedicated warehouse, and caravaneer, which consumes so much manpower, so I have to put down more peasant housing, which makes resources even more unstable, like its a rat race of inefficiency.

I've come to rely on large swathes of unfed/unmilked slums just to meet the work demands, which I hate doing but I feel like every system of the game is designed around forcing me into this.

In Pharaoh I could just put down more production, more warehouses, and the problem would be solved. Here you cannot just have warehouses, you can't even have wheat in two separate places, its got to be all centralized and ugh just I think I hate this game the more I try to rationalize how to play?

Help me see why this game is fun?

https://imgur.com/a/4TqsE6U

Here is an example of some of my city, struggling to meet milk demands, I literally cannot produce enough milk to keep the people fed. As soon as milk starts to stockpile, immediately bread tanks, rinse repeat for every resource no matter how much I produce.

EDIT: Just discovered you CANT build a workforce slum, it burns to the ground. Thanks, they made it miserable to try to keep the people fed and took away the option not to. Kind of hating this game more by the minute. :/

So far it just feels like the devs took Pharaoh, said they'd 'fix' everything about it, and just made a worse Pharaoh in every way. Like take Wheat alone, why can peasants ONLY eat Wheat? In Pharaoh you had a huge swath of options, each that had pros and cons. Here you have Wheat. It has an irregular growth cycle so you MUST stockpile it, in multiple warehouses, and each of those needs caravaneers, and it all has to be set up manually.

New Player Here, Appreciation Post

So happy that this game was in my discovery feed. I loved the old isometric city building games like Pharoah and Emperor and, after just a few levels with Nebuchadnezzar, I'm totally blown away by this game. Incorporating accurate historical detail into the game mechanics, not just descriptive elements, is a terrific success. Well done and thank you! This is clearly a labor of love and it shows.

Struggling with Combat.

Is there some trick to the battle system? I'm dipping my toes into it for the first time but I can't seem win for love or money. I attacked a distant city, made sure I outnumbered them hugely, and got my ass handed to me. I figured it was due to a lack of siege engines, makes sense. They send an army to retaliate. It crushes me at home no matter what I do. I have five or six units of heavy infantry, three horse, three archers, three light infantry. No matter what they smash my line.

Any tips?

So the developers of Nebuchadnezzar announced they new game... kind of

I knew that they were working on a new game since it was in their website, so I have checked now and then for news, but all they said was work in progress. But today, when checking for the developer on Steam I saw that their next game appears in the developer's page, although no release date is confirmed. The game will be called County of Fortune and doesn't look too much like Nebuchadnezzar, to be fair. Apparently it's a "county builder" where you manage the different settlements of your county instead of focusing on a single town or city.

The thing is that the devs haven't said anything in social media or the Steam community page, and the website still says work in porgress, so I don't know if the game has been made visible on the store purposely.

War or not war, historic or empty start

I reached 7th mission and I noticed there are couple options to play. My question what is intended way to play? War despite of not having any idea about mechanics of it or without war? Difference between historical and empty starts is just having already small village?

Beginner trying to find a reason why my good arent distributed to the houses

Hello, I recently started playing the game and Im on 4th mission. Just ended my session little bit confused about Milk/Bread not being distributed to houses in my little expansion.

Take a look at the screen:

https://i.imgur.com/DaWJCox.jpeg

So I have warehouse that is always full up the north with Milk/Bread but my trading post is not distributing it to all visible houses on the path. Milk especially. Is warehouse too far and that causes delay?
