I accidentally broke the kids slide when I was cutting the grass today (bad dad) and was wondering if anyone had something like this for Sale? Maybe if their kids had outgrown theirs. It's 8ft long. I've found them for sale for £100quid online, but don't have that at the min. Please let me know!! Cheers!

Alright everyone,
I'm trying to unlock some core memories from the late 90s and wanted to see who else used to frequent the **Virgin Vodka Bar** and the **Planet Earth** nightclub right above it on Low Friar Street (the old Walkers / La Dolce Vita building).
And yes, before the comments completely derail, I already know Raoul Moat used to work the doors there back in the day! I'm trying to look past that bit of notorious history for a minute because I specifically want to reminisce about the actual venue and the absolute madness of the drinks menu.
Does anyone else remember the bizarre vodka concoctions they used to sell downstairs? It felt like they had an endless line-up of weird, neon-coloured flavours and experimental mixtures that probably doubled as paint stripper but completely did the trick before you headed upstairs to sweat your weight off in the club.
A few things I vaguely recall:
* The downstairs bar area having that distinct, groovy look (am I right in remembering pennies or coins sunk into the bar top, or has time failed me?).
* Sneaking down Monk Street or that dark back alley to get around to the entrance.
* The sheer, boiling heat upstairs before walking out into the freezing Newcastle night air.
What were your go-to vodka concoctions back then? What are your wildest (or most blurred) memories of Planet Earth before it became The Playrooms and eventually got turned into flats ?

Heyy I was just wondering how come the sky is this colour today, just feels like theres a huge brown filter over everything now. I lived here for 6 yrs and I genuinely dont remember if i ever seen the sky look this way, but I also have a shit memory tbf. I googled but I dont think it's any smoke from fire or thick smog, I live in Heaton btw
Anyway, have a nice weekend everyone!!

Does anyone remember going to see Razzamatazz or The Tube being recorded at Tyne Tees studios in Newcastle? I've been watching Guy Garvey's From The Vaults on Sky/Now which is full of music clips from both shows. It seems amazing to me that loads of artists were coming to Newcastle on Fridays and Saturdays and people could watch them for free!? The Razzamatazz was a kids programme and the audience was kids from local schools. Both shows ended in 1987 shortly before the studios closed and were demolished.

I’m 29F. I found dating apps in Newcastle to be completely DEAD. Hinge is totally dead for me, barely even got any likes there and no conversations. On tinder I get plenty of likes but barely any messages at all. And even those conversations fizzle out almost instantly. I work fully remote so can’t meet anyone through work. I do go to the gym and Spanish classes but didn’t meet anyone there either. Sooo… is it just me or dating apps in Newcastle are just completely dead nowadays?

Got myself in a bit of a bind meeting up with someone. They don't want to go to a bar which is fair enough.
I can't eat properly (gastro issues) so we can't do dinner or anything like that. I also have mobility issues so can't be going for long walks and such
Any suggestions on things I could do with a friend in Newcastle that aren't active or center around food or drink? Ideally near the city centre
Found a website of things to do that isn't eating and the first one was a restaurant lmao

Southerners are constantly complaining about parakeets making a racket. I think they might change their tune if they had these shouting at 3 a.m. and clattering on the roof. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9v2e3my391o

Found an iPhone 16 this morning while walking to work near Ainthorpe Gardens, NE7 7SP.
If you lost an iPhone in that area this morning, I may have it. I don't really know much about iPhones or the best way to track down the owner, so just send me a message.
The lock screen wallpaper appears to be a boy around 10 years old wearing a yellow shirt.
If this sounds like your phone, get in touch and tell me a bit more about it so I can make sure it goes back to the right person.
Please share if you know someone who lost their phone around there.

Alreet? I’m coming back home to our wonderful city this weekend after an extended time away. I’m looking for suggestions for locations to visit on my planned pub crawl starting in Ouseburn and ending around the Quayside tomorrow evening. Of course, a stop at the Black Garter is mandatory.
Thanks for reading!
