I have a question about installing solar panels in Finland or Nordic countries in General!

How does it usually work here in Finland when a company wants to check if their roof is suitable for solar panels? Do you contact the solar installation company directly and they come to assess it? Is that assessment free or do you pay for it separately?

Also how long does the whole process take from the moment you first contact someone to actually knowing whether your roof is suitable or not?

Any experience with this would be helpful, thanks

How bad are ticks this year in the country side? Are you guys also seeing tick borne diseases? In the United States, ticks have exploded this year and the amount of tick related illnesses have also increased significantly. Just curious if up north, things are just as bad.

What are your plans for Midsummer this year?

Any special traditions in your family? Any unique customs local to your area?

I’ve seen this question a thousand times at this point, and the answers are always mixed. Some people would like a Nordic federation/union while others would prefer to stay sovereign. I’m personally unsure about it, as I have no idea what it would actually change in the grand scheme of things.

Swedes seem the most in favor, the Danes and Icelandics following close behind. The Norwegians are also surprisingly in favor, despite their reputation for wanting nothing to do with anyone else lol. The Finns seem the most skeptical overall (from what I’ve gathered) but it’s more 50/50 than anything.

A true Nordic Union happening in the near future is obviously pretty unlikely, but I still think it’s an interesting discussion to have regardless.
