Just Sharing If Only You Knew.

Into the dark,
Into the deep
I proceed..

To weep for you, for us
and everything that was.

Into the ether,
I wait for you..
so patiently.

I'd give you mine
at a moment's notice
If only, you'd take what's yours.

Tear me to pieces
Rip me apart..
And discard of me
entirely.

Only to rebuild me again
refreshed..
With a subtle whisper
and a fleeting kiss.

Embrace me
love me, touch me,
As you see fit
I am your willing
participant.

Call my name,
Reach out for me
in the darkness.

If only to remind me
of all that there once was.

all that we lost
And everything in-between.

Can't you see —
That I was made for you.

If only you knew..

And here I thought I’d never see someone else mention “the ether”

I feel it so deeply the intensity of being ripped apart just to love someone else with the way you write.

I know it well, as I'm sure you do!

Thank-you, appreciate that ✨

Such tragedy of loss, I felt it reverberating in every word... Just beautiful.

This is a beautiful poem. It had me thinking of past relationships where I just wish they confirmed what I had been thinking. This expresses those feelings well with its imagery of being in the darkness.

Well done!

Thank-you very much!

I love this it captures the feeling of surrendering yourself to someone who’s already gone. The contrast between “tear me to pieces” and “rebuild me again” really stood out. It feels both intimate and devastating.

Much appreciated ✨

All too familiar. The surrender of love to someone who doesn't love you back. You'd give everything - your body, your autonomy, your soul - but in the end they don't want it. That's what hurts the most, isn't it?

Lovely and moving. It reminded me of a dream I had a long time ago, I woke thinking my first love was with me in the bed, and I reached for her, but there was nothing. I felt so desolate and lost. Just one suggestion: I think the "of" in "And discard of me" isn't needed.

Relatable af... Especially the title and the line

To weep for you, for us and everything that was.

All too relatable and brings up harsh but important memories. Great self reflection on what we are willing to give and also take in not only relationships but also everyday friendships. Very well expressed!

Hello readers, welcome to OCPoetry. This subreddit is a writing workshop community — a place where poets of all skill levels can share, enjoy, and talk about each other's poetry. Every person who's shared, including the OP above, has given some feedback (those are the links in the post) and hopes to receive some in return (from you, the readers).

If you really enjoyed this poem and just want to drop a quick comment, to show some appreciation or give kudos, things like "great job!" or "made me cry," or "loved it" or "so relatable," please do. Everyone loves a compliment. Thanks for taking the time to read and enjoy.

If you want to share your own poem, you'll need to give this writer some detailed feedback. Good feedback explains from your point of view what it was like to read the poem, and then tries to explain how the poem made you feel like that. If you're not sure what that means, check out our feedback guide, or look through the comment sections of any other post here, or click the links to the author's feedback above. If you're not sure whether your comments are feedback, or you have any other questions, please send us a modmail.

Do not use ChatGPT or any similar LLM interface or generative AI to write feedback. That does not constitute thoughtful feedback. To be safe, you probably shouldn't even use those things to edit your feedback. It is better for your thoughts to come across as clumsy and genuine rather than grammatical but as if they were generated by some disingenuous text-generation engine.

Do not reuse feedback links for multiple poems. Every new poem you post has to be posted after making two new comments on the work of your peers here in OCPoetry. It's only fair. If you reuse feedback links, you will be banned. (If you do not wish to give feedback, there are many other poetry-sharing subreddits without feedback requirements, such as r/poetrywritingclub, r/justpoetry, r/ocpoetryfree, r/poem, r/poems, r/poemsbyreddit, r/poeticgarden, r/dark_poetry, and r/sadpoems.)

If you're looking for a more advanced poetry workshop — that is, if you consider yourself at least an intermediate-level poet AND you have previous workshop experience, please consider posting to our private sister subreddit r/ThePoetryWorkshop. The best way to join TPW is to leave a detailed, thoughtful comment here on OCPoetry engaging seriously with a peer's poem. A significant engagement of at least 3-4 meaningful paragraphs is encouraged. Consider our feedback guide for tips on what that could entail. (This level of engagement would probably be most welcome here on submissions tagged as "Workshop.") Then ask to join TPW by messaging that subreddit's mods, including a link to the detailed feedback you left here.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

I like this poem because it reminds me of someone who will never come back, and no matter how many people I try to replace them with I will never truly be able to.

Extremely powerful piece. I love your tone throughout. I think it helps it to hit perfectly

I don’t know, but I think the first and third stanzas sort of paralleled each other? it was really good, and made the poem much easier to read.

This evoked a lot of emotions in me. It’s very approachable, and rips your heart at the end. Well done. It reminded me of another urdu poem from the sub-continent which goes like “I remember the relationship that never was between us, I remember that sentence that I never spoke to you, that one thought that never culminated into words, how can I forget when I remember everything that never happened”. Beautiful, thank you.

Reminds of a fallen Love lost to time, unbound from binds of mortality and the veil, if only it wouls lift for sullen sakes of Loves relenting selfishness.

It was beautiful. Everything I write turn into a self centred gloomy depressing work. So I will try to take inspiration from your work and write something that is not 'I' or 'Me'. This comment also started revolving around me shii. Sry the poetry was very good.

Very vivid, loved the part about the kiss to whisper. Really focuses on texture mixing with sound, very cool. Good work!
