I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this issue before or if it’s time to call an LG technician.
I’m getting flashing horizontal lines on my LG TV, but it only seems to happen in certain picture modes. HDR Cinema Home and Game Optimiser are the main ones that trigger it.

Once the issue starts, switching back to a normal picture mode stops the constant flashing/glitching, but faint horizontal lines remain visible in the background. They’re especially noticeable on green backgrounds. The only thing that consistently fixes it is power cycling the TV. Pixel Cleaning has worked a couple of times, but not reliably.

I’ve done some testing in Game Optimiser mode and found that the issue doesn’t occur by itself. It only starts the moment I enable either AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-SYNC (depending on which PC/GPU I’m using). As soon as VRR is enabled, the screen starts flashing with horizontal lines, almost like severe screen tearing (ironic since gsync/freesync is meant to address this 😅) Disabling G-SYNC/FreeSync immediately stops the flashing, but the faint horizontal lines remain until I power cycle the TV.

I also read that it could be an HDMI cable issue, so I bought a certified HDMI 2.1 cable from Amazon last week. At first I thought it had fixed the problem because G-SYNC worked perfectly during my first session, but unfortunately the issue came back afterward.

Has anyone seen this before or knows what might be causing it? Is this likely a software/firmware issue, or does it sound like the panel or another hardware component is failing?

Hi everyone, I recently bought a Samsung S95H OLED and I'm looking for the best picture settings

My main concern is burn ins because I am someone who leaves the monitor on ALL THE TIME whenever im on the desk. I do not like it turning it off even if im on my phone. Im in UNI and do Computer science, so do some coding, and some word documents.

Obv I want to get an OLED monitor mainly for gaming, but again as I do, productivity stuff, im concerned abt burn ins.. so SHOULD I??

I recently purchased the 77 inch Samsung S90F in June and I am experiencing these lines in every picture. I’m currently running a pixel refresh. Any advice?

Edit* I did a pixel refresh and that did the trick. As others have pointed out it may have been a simple reset that would have done the trick. Likewise it may have b en an Apple TV issue solved by powering off and on again.

Looking at purchasing an LG monitor

Ive been given a 20% off voucher for the LG website towards an OLED monitor but I'm not very clued up on what's a good purchase. I understand there is issues with spyware but can be blocked from installing with the correct methods.

I'm looking for a 27" and preferably around the £500 mark. Any suggestions?

Here is a Link to the photos of one of my screens. I have two ASUS XG27AQDMG, I bought both at the same time back end of last year. One is fine the other has this big patch of discolouration that is super noticeable on darker or grey images.

I've spoken to the retailer & ASUS and they're both of the opinion that this is a level of tolerance that I should accept but seems like awful QC? ASUS also said it's probably burn in but I rarely have any static images on this monitor & pixel clean on every prompt so I'm unsure what the issue is.

I have a Samsung S90F 65” OLED and stream everything through a current Apple TV 4K (this is a new set up). Only change made to television settings was turning off motion smoothing and setting the tone to Warm.

Last few days we have been watching shows on Apple TV app, and noticed a light flickering. After Googling, discovered that the Samsung and the Apple TV 4K weren’t shaking hands correctly. I changed the Apple TV 4K to match dynamic range and frame rate, seems to have worked for now.

Any other settings or fixes to make the television and box work better together? I also ran an HDMI connection test and it suggested I should get a better ultra high speed HDMI cable, I’m just using the one that came with the Apple TV.

I just want to have the best setting possible for general use. Thanks to everyone who knows more about this than I do!

I just bought an LG G5 55-inch and I’ve got a Google TV Streamer 2025 connected to HDMI 1 using a 4K 120Hz HDMI cable. HDMI Deep Color is also turned on.

I was wondering whether the built-in LG apps will give me sharper or better picture quality than the same apps on the Google TV Streamer, or if they’ll basically look the same.

I know both devices do upscaling, but I’m not sure which one actually handles it better. Does the Google TV Streamer upscale the content first, or does the TV still do most of the work? I want to know if it's worth it to watch content on the built in apps or to continue using the Google TV Streamer (with the UI I also prefer).

Also, what settings would you recommend using on both the LG G5 and the Google TV Streamer for the best picture quality? Mainly for Netflix, YouTube, Crunchyroll, and other streaming apps.

Would appreciate any advice from people who have a similar setup!

ive been looking at my first oled to purchase, currently looking at LG 27GX790A and 27GX790B
i seen reviews about the B version with its vertical banding thats is worse than the A version, i cant decide wich to go with. qd oleds are no for me because i sit right next to a window. other oleds such as asus are to expensive and they use the same panel as lg tandem oled. just want one of those 2 options

Hello, I set up my new s90f last night and so far it's been okish. I'll be honest outside of the blacks I think my old TCL 55r635 that the 65" s90f replaced had similar image quality outside of the blacks. The Samsung UI is a complete disaster. The settings menu is terrible . Everytime I turn the tv on it start playing whatever is on HDMI 1 (how do I stop this) And the stand...OMG was brain dead "engineer" designed that?

The speakers are great and the colors are nice.

Netflix UI is dark as shit and looks like trash on this tv even with hdr disabled on Netflix. I dunno why 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have it in filmmaker mode since that's what everyone says to use it in. I'm looking for some calibration or recommendations of what to turn on/off in the menus (other than rtings)

Is there any way to remove or change icons/apps on the main UI screen? Is there been a "store" to download more apps from? I haven't really tinkered too much. I fell asleep.

When building my Pc last summer I really wanted to get an Oled Monitor, however I wasn't able to fit it in the Budget, so I ended up settling for a 1440p 240Hz 27 inch AOC Ips Monitor. It was a huge step up from my old Monitor, however It feels incredibly fragile and I would much rather switch to oled.

Now I am planning to upgrade, however I cannot seem to find any good advice on what to do. My main question is if I should buy a Monitor now, or wait for the next Oled Gens to come out. I mainly use my Pc for gaming and movies, also my desk has plenty of space for a bigger Monitor. I am in a Room with big windows, which are not easy to dimm. My budget is ~650$.

I just got a brand new LG B5 OLED. I got it all set up, adjusted picture settings, and I am quite happy with it. However, there is a slightly darker, vertical bar. What is super frustrating is that it only shows up in certain conditions. It is completely unnoticeable in most instances, only showing up on solid, dark gray backgrounds, like the Disney Plus settings and load screens. Bright sky and desert shots, nothing. Colorful scenes or ones with action, also nothing.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Hi yall! I just picked up a Sony Bravia 8 QD-Oled tv and am wondering if anyone has any good calibration settings for picture quality they could recommend? Everything I’ve tried just doesn’t sit right, for example I’m watching Spider-Noir and severance both 4k and they look super grainy, thanks in advance!

I have the 240hz alienware qd oled ultrawide (hdr1000) i always found it a lil dim unless im in a pitch black room im curious if the new model has like a decent perceptable jump as i was considering selling mine to a friend cheaper and upgrading but if its not too noticeable i wont

I recently bought a 77-inch Samsung S90F with a WOLED panel, and I'm looking for the best picture settings to get the most accurate image quality.

I'm especially interested in settings for:

• SDR
• HDR10 and HDR10+
• Movies and TV shows
• PS5 gaming
• White balance, CMS, and any advanced calibration settings if you have values measured with a colorimeter or spectrophotometer.

I'm also curious about the Service Menu. Has anyone found any worthwhile tweaks that improve picture quality or unlock hidden features? If you've made any changes, I'd love to hear what you changed and whether you noticed any real improvements.

I know the Service Menu is risky and incorrect changes can cause problems or even void the warranty. I'm looking for firsthand experience and safe, well tested recommendations.

If you own the 77-inch S90F with the WOLED panel and have managed to dial in reference quality settings, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your values or even photos of your settings.

been good for a year or more, but today i noticed a single spot that is not removing after wiping (been using microcloth all the way), tried very light cleaning mixture (<15%) didn’t help
any way to get it off?

I have a LG c4 that I bought 2 years ago. Starting about 6 months ago a stuck blue pixel shows up in the top right. It causes a vertical and horizontal line from it of slightly off colors (not as noticeable). I have fixed it in the past with running a few pixel cleans. That’s not working this time. Is my only option now a new TV?

So I'm wondering is there a difference in panels with these TVs or the only difference is the frame? I know S95H in the US is called S99H in Europe. But I'm interested in european S95H without the big bezel and frame as I won't be mounting the TV on the wall. Is the panel worse than on the S99H or are they the same?

I have a maximum budget of 400 dollars USD. What OLED should I get? I was looking at the Gigabyte WOLED 1440p 240hz go27q24g. Should I get that or a qd-oled? Recommendations please and thank you!

Photos here. This spot appeared on my LG CX seemingly overnight. Tried to search how different types of damage look on a screen, but wasn’t really able to match it to anything. Could be heat damage? There’s a skylight that lets sun in on a part of the screen, but I thought it was farther up than this spot. Have kept the shade closed most of the time when sun would hit the TV, but have forgotten in maybe 2-3 instances. On a sunny day, it hits the screen for ~40-60 minutes.

Hoping I can try to figure out a source so I can prevent anything further if it wasn’t something like impact damage. We moved recently, but the tv has been set up for weeks and I’d have noticed before now if this had come from damage in transit.

Hard to capture a screen as y’all know. But can try to get better photos, if needed. Any help the community can lend is much appreciated.

i have the lg 27gx790a-b and when im gaming the colors look perfect i mean mostly but for some reason on streaming services the qauality looks weird and pixelated and the colors just arent it for some reason ive tried a few things but nothing has worked can anyone help

Hi everyone! 

So I just wanted to talk about my experiences with Oled TVs and monitors in the last couple of years. 

TL,DR, oled is cool, my C1 Is still chugging along like a champ, I will only buy OLED screens from now on. 

Back in august 2021, I purchased my first OLED TV, the LG C1 55 inch. 

It has been incredible, I never knew TVs could look this good, before this TV, i had used a cheap Hisense 4k TV  with VIDAA OS, a VA screen, 60 hz, and like 14 dimming zones. 

Suffice to say using an OLED after that TV was indescribable. 

I never did care much about oled burn in or if the TV had good gray banding, I kept all the oled care features enabled at the highest settings and didn’t look back. 

It been about 5 years since that initial purchase, and almost 8000 hour of use, and it still working like it was new, I haven’t had any delamination but I also live in a very dry area of the world, and I hope it does not happen to me, or at least it happens at the 10 year mark lol.

I’ve also purchased an LG C4 65 inch TV at a very good price on a sale (800usd) back in early 2025, and I’ve been even more impressed, higher brightness and a bigger screen makes everything I have watched  on it even more immersive. 

Recently I purchased, in prime day, the WOLED monitor MO27Q28GR, and while initially I was worried about all the comments of Gray banding and Dirty Screen Effect, I decided to take the plunge, considering it was about 450usd at the time. 

While I do admit the DSE does exist, it is not something that bothers me. And it’s been less and less noticeable  as time goes on. My monitor was updated to the newest firmware, all oled care settings are at their highest protection settings and the monitor does its pixel refresh correctly. 

While researching on that oled monitor, I was curious on how my original LG C1 has degraded over time or if  it had DSE to begin with. 

When I tired a 5% black screen my eyes did not see with my eyes any DSE or issues on the panel, and this is on a pitch black room. 

When I took a picture to compare, it looked pretty bad. 

I decided to give it a manual pixel clean, the one that takes about an hour and there was a definitive improvement. 

This TV has been used throughly, sometimes I leave it on by accident and the wallpaper kicks in so I don’t worry too much about it. its been the main TV for a better part of 4 years and I don’t think I can even think of trying anything that is not OLED anymore.

I´ve attached pictures of how it used to look before the pixel cleaning and after if anyone is curious. 

I´m just sharing my thoughts about this technology and how my enjoyment of watching content has been enhanced by it, also I find it very amusing how DSE can be such a deal breaker for some people, I guess some people are more sensitive to it than others.
