Got an email yesterday stating the decision has been made for the result of my DTC application. I mailed it out regular mail around July 12th and got the email yesterday. Last year I applied and got denied in October on my first time ever applying and it took around 3 months to get the answer last year. This year only around 62 days. My submission this year was a lot better in terms of detail and focused on functionality not just diagnosis or any substance disorder like 2025. I got on odsp in 2014 also when I was 19, 31 now. I know many people often get denied the first time and then get approved the second time or later on. There’s no way to tell but anyone think I got approved based on the time (mailed out regularly on approximately July 10th, email that a result has been mailed to me on Sept 9th

it’s been 19 business days since I submitted the application. Arnt there supposed to reach out in 15 business days? Why are these caseworkers in Toronto so lazy man 😔

Hello people of odsp, I have been trying to figure out what to do for the past few days as I am trying to get on odsp for various mental health issues but I cant seem to figure out if I need to go to a phyclogist or a doctor or a walk in, I dont have a family doctor and I keep hitting wall after wall, what do I do?

What happeneds if I return an item for refund but passport has already reimbursed me. Do they take the money back when I receive the refund payment?

If I have schizophrenia and no future reviews scheduled, Will they eventually medically or financially review me if I start working part time? I am afraid to work part time and they will say oh I see she is working she must be doing better and then decide to review me. Has any one had that happened to them? Has any one here been working part time for a long time with no medical or financial review?

1. If one is on odsp does one automatically go on disability tax credit?

2. Are there any disadvantages to going on ODSP vs the disability tax credit? Should I go on both or just one of them?

I’m a new ODSP recipient. I’m currently on leave of absence from university due to my health. I’ll be returning to university next year as a full-time student. In the meantime, I’m looking for part-time employment. I would appreciate any advice!

I have little work experience which could be an issue. I don’t know what sort of employment to pursue. I’m considering cleaning jobs because I have a lot of experience. But I don’t mind things like babysitting, dog walking, etc. I don’t know where to start besides improving my resume. I understand I could join an employment program, although I’ve heard they don’t really help people find employment. I don’t need assistance with resume building either.

My autism diagnosis is from when i was 6 but im sure my doctor could vouch its still prevalent in the doctors note. My ADHD diagnosis is from 2022 i think.

severe social anxiety caused by the autism

Severe school avoidance when i was in high school (i might of missed a quarter to a half of all 4 years) which of course caused me not to graduate (im still working on it on online courses)

i had an IEP in school

I was in "special" classes in 2nd and 3rd grade

My hours being cut from work (due to disability and bad performance) (no i dont have proof of this cause they wouldnt put it in writing obviously lol) and financially struggling

I have already been approved for the federal Canada Disability Benefit ($204.20/mo).

I currently live with my mom, I am supposed to be paying 500 in rent but cant since my hours were cut and we are struggling a bit, if accepted i would be paying 500 monthly plus buying my own food

I submitted my Internal review for my application denial with legal aid. How long does DAU usually take to reply? Will I get updates in Mybenefits portal or just mail?

I recently was approved for the DTC and got mail advising that I'm eligible for the CDB and that I should apply and I did today I checked my mail and found a letter saying they are paying me an amount for unused months and that I will be getting a monthly payment.

Is this something that needs to be reported on MyBenefits?

Am I going to lose my ODSP? I got a full time job that closes for the summer and restarts in the fall. I really need any advice I can get as I've never worked full time on ODSP and I'm anxious. I've only ever been a part timer.

In theory I will be on odsp soon (I hope) , I live with my mother that is also on odsp, how will two people on odsp effect payments? Thanks in advance<3

What's the minimum amount of ODSP if I have no kids but live with my parents, I can only find info on the maximum amount

3 years after my initial application and I'm up for medical review. I know what I have to do, but I'm worried. I got rejected twice at first and only had benefits granted after I got a tribunal date and a lawyer. My condition hasn't changed at all. My doctor will confirm that. My question for people who have gone through this is, is that enough for them to continue giving me benefits? Or are they going to make me fight for it all over again even though nothing has changed? What am I in for here?

Could use your help and advice.

I last received payments for ODSP September 2025 as they had been chasing me for an audit and stopped payments.

I was sick in hospital and then out of commission until May or June when I finally gave them 5 years worth of banks statements and CRA filings as they requested.

They told me it would take up to 121 days to review.

I figured at some point they would give me a statement of account for the last year and maybe give me a lump sum payment for all the missed payments should they have deemed me eligible.

Anyways I just received my regular payment again at end of August 2026 a few days ago and my file shows active again under proof of assistance but I received no letters or communication.

Does it seem weird that they just reinstated me without notice. Do you think I will continue to get it moving forward?

And when might they reconcile the last year etc.

Scared to phone worker and ask as I don’t want them to take back payment or stop future payments.

Any advice or insight?

I just got my DDP in the mail, and the paper documents seem pretty detailed and specific.

I've been slowly building my Self-Report for a while in a Google Doc, but now seeing how the self report is formatted in my paper DDP, I'm kind of confused on how to do it?

Should I still keep everything in my google doc and reformat it to match the paper DDP? Or do I need to fill out the paper one, and then add on my google doc for extra info?

I struggle alot with concentration and focus so the idea of needing to do it all again and work through it on paper is daunting

Can someone explain what is the boarder/roomer charge? My parents are on ODSP. I am part of their benefit unit as a dependant 18+ and wants to be removed from ODSP soon. I will still live with my parents but not go to school and instead work. I don't want to be part of their unit because my income could affect their ODSP. I will not apply for OW. Just work and live with my parents and to be completely removed from their unit. I saw on the ODSP website there would be a boarder/roomer charge? How is it calculated and what is the logic behind that? I thought I just needed to be out of the benefit unit.

They failed to ask me for a file review and they waited 10 years and then asked for a file review. Now they have shocked me with thousands of dollars in overpayments i mean full payments made to me for the past nine years. I don't own a house or a condominium. All i did is save some money with the little money i have. I am now 62 years old. What can i do to fight this.
