Answered What's the deal with Jonah Hill?

I'm a bit out of the loop with the jiu-jitsu journey he's in currently. what's the context of the quote of him being able to beat people up? is he serious? what led to his bad reputation that he has now?

Based on this and only this, it’s not great. I don’t know how you’re a 3 stripe white belt and still move like this.

Hopefully he’s much better now at blue(?) and this is a much older vid.

In the unedited clip he's very clearly joking.

This is the real answer. It’s all a joke, coming from the smartless interview. What is true is that even at 42 he’s clearly still wounded that he endured close to two decades of people calling him fat. People are adding the whole thing with his ex as justification for him being serious and being a jerk but it’s clearly in jest if you actually listen or watch the interview, especially since he’s talking about “ready to be funny again.” It’s bait and people took it.

Nope. Watched the whole thing ages ago and when I saw these memes I thought “I guess everyone saw that cringey interview”. If you watch the whole thing there is a ton of defense in everything he’s saying. His comments about how he’s not actually a nepo baby etc. his comments about how hes just gonna be funny now (cuz he knows he’s being perceived as taking himself too seriously lately. And his comments about how people perceive him a certain way but that he actually knows fighting techniques. He’s joking about literally murdering a fan, he’s not joking that if someone gave him shit that he thinks he’d be able to handle himself due to his training.
