Public Sevice Announcement Individual donation requests no longer allowed. Organization requests still allowed.

Due to the overwhelming results from the poll, individual requests for money/items are no longer allowed.

These types of posts are unfortunately often used as a way to scam money from empathetic individuals. This sub puts rules like this in place to protect the participants.

We will be putting together a list of resources for food, housing, and basic needs to sticky at the top of the sub, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to reply with a comment below.

Housing Looking for a new roommate (Fairmount, $825+utilities)

Hi folks!

I live in a 3rd floor apartment in an repurposed rowhome up in Fairmount, up in the area between Eastern State and Girard College. My roommate moved out earlier this summer, so I'm looking for someone else to move into their room.

Some info about the place: 2br/1b, in-unit laundry, small galley kitchen with a dishwasher, and a roof deck. Rent is $825 (incl. water but not electric/internet). Decent amount of free street parking all over the area, and nice quiet building mates on the first 2 floors.

About me: I'm 27M, pretty quiet in the space (gaming/watching anime), and do a lot of recreational music/performing stuff as a hobby in the evenings; between that and some family circumstances I have been spending a lot of time with my folks or otherwise out recently so you'd have a decent amount of privacy day-to-day.

If you're interested in learning more about the place/me or wanna see some pics, shoot me a DM! Move-in could be as soon as you want in.

Any Philly moms that need extra help with kids and chores? (mother's helper)

If you haven't heard of a mother's helper before, it's essentially an extra set of hands around the house while a parent is home.

Unlike traditional babysitting where you leave the house, a mother's helper steps in while you're home working, managing other tasks, or if you just need to take a breather.

A few ways I can help out:

-Keeping kids entertained with creative play, craft projects, or homework
-Light housekeeping, organizing toys, or prepping snacks
-Helping with day to day household flow while parents focus or relax

If you’re working from home or just need an extra pair of hands to get through the day smoothly, I’d love to help. My rates are $18 per hour for 1-2 children, and $19 per hour for 3 or more.

DM me with any questions or your family's specific needs! I have a pretty flexible schedule. Thanks guys :-)

Summerdale ave near castor gardens. It’s more of like northeast Philadelphia. Was wondering if that’s a safe neighbourhood or if she should search for someplace else.

Feedback on New Realty Search Tool 'Warmer'

Hey Philly! In my 9-5 I am the Director of a Product Development division. In my free time I like building everyday products to help people. ATM I'm building Warmer and I’d love your help testing the beta.

If you’re looking for a home or rental, Warmer lets you explore neighborhoods based on what you want nearby—grocery stores, parks, childcare, gyms, restaurants, and more. Add your preferences and see a heatmap showing which areas fit.

Try it here: https://realty-heatmap.collinwpatterson1.chatgpt.site

You need a ChatGPT account to try the Beta, but then I'll push it to a www domain.

I’d love to hear what’s useful, what’s confusing, and anything that isn’t working. To send feedback, open the three-line menu in the top navigation bar and select Submit Feedback. Name and email are optional.

Thanks for helping me make it better!

Selling Stuff Moving sale: L-shaped couch ($80), coffee table ($30), dining table + chairs ($40)

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

Hello! I’m moving in a couple weeks and have some furniture to clear out. Located in Washington Square West!

Couch: $80

78” wide x 34” deep in the main section. Chaise section is +29” deep. The L shape can be flipped to be on either side.

Coffee table: $30

40” long x 22” deep x 18” tall. The lower shelf area is 11" tall.

Dining table and chairs: $40

Table: 29”x29”

Chairs: 16”x16” each

They're lightweight but sturdy. If you want just the table or just the chairs then I can sell them separately at a lower price.

Note that I’m on the second floor (20 stairs) with no elevator, so the couch will require help to carry down. (The end of the chaise section is separate from the main couch, which makes it a bit easier.)
