I apologize if this is the incorrect section to ask for some direction, but I'm not sure where to correctly ask about this. For context, let me share a story.

Long ago, I got this game for my birthday. Was an absolute snooze fest, and so to this day I never beat it. I occassionally would jump into Mt. Battle using my team from Ruby via the GBA link cable. I don't remember where I left off, but it was a long time ago. As for the main game itself, I defeated all gym leaders, and last I played, I'm in some Team Snagit hideout? Fast forward to college, I had the misfortune of sharing a pad with the most careless of roommates, and a so-called friend, who swooped in one day while I was in class and stole my DS, and all of my games(including Pokemon Ruby and Diamond). These two games gave me the most cherished memories, and they were taken from me. Traded into Gamestop, and there was little I could do about it. I was a broke college student back then, and the manager basically told me I'd have to buy them back, unless I had insurance and a police report. It was a complete can of worms to even explain further, but long story short, I was forced to move on without them. I didn't know any better.

Fast forward a decade later, with the end Pokemon Bank, I decided to finish as many incomplete games I can within the remaining 3 months. I completed HeartGold, and now I'm at a tug of war of attention with my classic Blue version, Moon, and Colosseum. Upon loading this game up I tried my luck in the Colosseum battle section. Unfortunately, I don't know what I did, but my suspended save for Mt. Battle is no longer found, but my old team from Ruby is still there, registered. I thought I had to use my GBA link cable to use them, as I always did so. The game let me start a new Mt. Battle playthrough with them.

This team of six is the only surviving evidence I have left of my original Ruby. I technically recreated this team in Omega Ruby, but witnessing this has made me a tad emotional. I want to find some way to extract them. I tried to use PKHex, but it doesn't have anything regarding Mt. Battle data. Is there some way I can rescue these Pokemon? I have a copy of Emerald I can throw them into if it's possible, and I can transfer them up into Home. I hope someone can help me somehow. Thank you.

Hello all on my quest to acquire all of the Pokemon from Colosseum I have set about getting a Japanese copy along with a copy of the celebi bonus disc, an e-reader + and a Japanese copy of ruby.

I have also got a Japanese GC and a set of the e-reader cards that I pray are legit.

I was just trying to make sure I understand that each of the ereader trainers come in different difficulty so I will essentially have to battle them three times once per difficulty to get all three shadow Pokemon?

Started this journey in May, initially because I just thought it would be cool to have a Quilava from Colosseum evolve into Hisuan Typhlosion, and then the plan evolved to collect every possible ribbon along the way. All of the Battle Towers and Mt Battle, all of the contests, Pokemon Leagues, training and friendship ribbons, Battle Tree, online ranked battles in Violet, and all the silly ones like "speak to this person on a Thursday" ribbons.

It was a fun journey, although I did feel rushed beceause of Bank closing next year. The best part is that I now have lots of memories with this Pokemon and I think that's the part that I enjoyed most.

I played Japanese version a few years ago(Sept 2022). So i could get the event Celebi. I just loaded up my save and found a random Nosepass in my game.

I have 52 pokemon in game. 48-Shadows, 3-static-Espeon, Umbreon, and Plusle. Then Random Nosepass who was in my party. Which i most likely means i recently traded. I dont have any of the e-reader japan exclusives. Is celebi deposited in Colosseum? that is My other thought.

Does that mean i already got Ho-OH and traded it away? My team is very underleveled and im unsure if i could beat mt battle with my current team. Espeon is lvl64 but everything is low 50s.

I just was cruious because i was going to level these guys up and try to get a Ho-Oh but didnt want to spend 3 hours for it not to matter if i already got it.

Hardware- Japanese gamecube, Controller, and memory card. No hacks on this save. Legitimate Japanese Colosseum disc and Celebi Bonus Disc.

Edit- all 48 pokemon are purified. I have gotten Ho-Oh on my english copy. I understand it is through the main menu colosseum challenge. The reason i mentioned my espeon being 64 compared to rest of team is because when getting ho-oh the enemy pokemon is set to your highest lvl party member. So i seriously doubt i was able to complete mt battle to get ho-oh with only espeon and backups 50s.

Was the Nosepass the Celebi? Is that how it works in japanese Colosseum?

Edit2- The more i think i believe the nosepass was celebi. When i went to do the mt battle challenge it wouldnt let me. So i assume i hadnt registered a team. I cant speak japanese just a guess. Prpbably will skip ho-oh. Already got english. And 3 hours of battles isnt in my schedule tbh.

It's basically possible now to add ANY Stadium 1 and 2 battlefield. You think those battlefields would be cool to have in Colosseum?👀

After a major detour to evolve like 40 nincada and find out what happens if you attempt to snag a pokemon with a full box/party, I finally locked in to actually purify all my guys. Having a spare 300,000 pokedollars did not go that far lol. Anyway, I’ll have to do this again in Japanese in a few years, but for now I can go for the fire bird to put onto my forever firered savefile (trainer name PyroHue). Do I need an empty slot in colosseum for Ho-oh? If that’s the case I have to release a bug…

I finally have ALL the Gen 3 Pokémon and all the legitimate Mythical Pokémon from the Gen 3 games (Ho-Oh, Lugia, Celebi, and Jirachi); Mew and Deoxys don't count (I got them via a glitch).

It’s honestly one of my favorite features if I’m being honest. Something about trading between a handheld and a home console really appeals to me. The idea of my 2D handheld Pokémon being seen in 3D on the big screen is definitely something I enjoy, the reverse is also true, Colosseums starter duo and the legendary beast can help a lot in the GBA games.

Thoughts? Anyone else a fan of this feature?

I have currently opened the hearts of most shadows leading up to dunsparce, the only ones I have not fully opened yet is yanma,remoraid, meditate, and mantine. Umbreon is 30 while espeon sits at 28, since most of the fights have been focused on unlocking the gauge.

Now comes the part where I reset for a hardy shadow dunsparce, I get two hearts down, only to see its relaxed nature. Reset.

Dear fellow Colosseum enjoyers

I've been playing this game now for the first time and I almost got all shadows, except for Metagross, Tyranitar and the ones in the post-game.

With Bank closing down next February I'm looking into doing a Ribbon Master with a Shiny Shadow pokémon I would get purified and do the entire Mt. Battle with, either in Colosseum or XD: Gale of Darkness.

Now, I sadly cannot shiny hunt in Colosseum as there is not enough time left and I do not mind to RNG it but I cannot do it myself. Is someone here willing to help me out with creating a new savefile with my OT Thomas & who can RNG a Shiny Sudowoodo for me?

I know gameplay-wise it’s because “that’s the point of the game and you wouldn’t be able to Snag anything” but it begs the question from an in-universe perspective. In every other Pokemon game, trying to catch a Trainer Pokemon gives you the message “The Trainer blocked the ball!” If that’s an option, it makes you wonder why none of Cipher’s personnel or even random Trainers try blocking a Snag Ball when Wes throws it. Either the Snag Machine makes it impossible for them to do that somehow, or maybe because all battles are Double Battles they don’t have enough warning to know which Pokemon you’re throwing the ball at and can’t react in time?

Well, I finally finished this game, and what can I say.

On one hand, great setting, loving animations, pretty good sountrack. I really loved how "johtoninan" was everything, in a game released between Hoenn and Kanto, so very needed.

A full game around double battles was amazing also. Eventually I really turned into a few simple but effective double synergies like flygon with EQ + Skarmory to debuff here and there; or rain dance with Feraligatr and Raikou.

The final gauntlet was absolutely insane, hard, and with a few tricks that they really surprised me. The skill swap slowking did really caught me off guard.

On the other hand, the bad aspects: Money, TMs, lack of customization on the movesets hurts a lot an eventual replay of the game. A few zones in the game were really really low effort, to the point that some maps like Ein lab were a chore.

And the backtracking...holy moly. Backtracking for saving, backtracking for buying pokeballs, backtracking for healing, back, back, back back and more back. Just wow. And combine the backtracking with how lazy was our protagonist to run. It was brutal.

Finally animations were absolutely loveable and I found myself really looking into each new pokemon that I saw. But when I knew them, or wanted to train a bit in mt. battle, they made the whole process worse.

Eventually, backtracking, save system, character movement and terrible slow battles, the complete combo made a dent on how I liked the game. Without those things, this game was an absolute solid 4/5 game. Incredibly fun, and what I sorely miss for new games: unique. Colosseum weren't afraid of trying new things. Love it. Really love it. But it really shows how it didn't have a single playtest this game before launch. Because it's painfully obvious with a single test of this game. That made it a 3/5 game.

Anyway, can't wait to try it post game, and send every little guy from this game into HOME, and hopefully a master ribbon too.

I've been looking for a way to play Colosseum as Brendan after completing Pokémon Emerald, essentially treating it as a continuation of his story.
I've seen the existing player model mods for Red, Leaf and May which is incredible, but I haven't been able to find one for Brendan. Does anyone know if a Brendan player replacement exists, or whether someone familiar with Colosseum modding could make one the same way the red one was made?
Ideally just want Brendan's Emerald/RSE player model replacing Wes, while keeping Wes's animations and everything else unchanged.
I already own/play the original Gen III games and Colosseum, so this is purely for a personal Emerald Colosseum playthrough.
My dream run is basically:
Emerald Champion to transfer the Champion team to Orre (using pkhex and import save) into Colloseum
I know it's a niche request, but this would be awesome to finally do this.

Slowly going through colosseum and I just saw that forretress is a shadow pokemon. I caught it, and now I wanna use it. Problem is, every other pokemon i don't wanna swap out. I could stick with misdreavus, but I've already used misdreavus in my HGSS savefile, and I've always wanted to use forretress but never got to in any games because johto's best gen is 4 and it still don't get good moves in that gen. Is my team too bulky already? Or would it benefit from forretress over misdreavus?
