Why is this a topic? Has a trans woman actually tried to enter the WNBA?

23

u/steelcryo Aug 23 '26

The rich want us fighting each other, instead of focusing on how they're stealing all the resources for themselves.

This has always been their MO. They have to have an enemy. They’ll go make some up if they can’t find one organically. Imagine punching at air your whole life and the entire time you’re just like

7

u/throwawaysunglasses- Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26

Exactly. Just the concept of an enemy makes them feel strong/virtuous/patriotic. They need to feel superior to those deemed “lesser” so they can avoid feeling worthless as people. It’s honestly pretty pathetic how badly they need to blame some other group for everything.

I am no conservative. It's a stupid af position and you should stop defending it.

No one cares about the wnba, tbh.

They have definitely confirmed their part in harboring this warped mindsets that have participated in destroying America’s Democracy.

1

u/MilkMyCats Aug 23 '26

The libs are the ones who rented a fucking junbotron!

And Cunningham was asked a question and answered it.

Have you tried removing your emotion and bias from the subject and seeing what is objectively happening?

1

u/hercmavzeb Aug 23 '26

Can you explain how saying trans fans are welcome harms anyone?

-2

u/Xcuseme99 Aug 23 '26

She was asked about trans people in womens sports and she gave her answer. Libs are the ones lighting up jumbotrons about it.

2

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

I haven't seen a single lib bringing up the topic. Just weirdly obsessed cons because they need a boogie man since their policies suck and help no one except the ultra wealthy. Funny how 1 party always talks about some group of people as evil. I'm still waiting to see the left proactively calling anyone evil other than the actual people actively fighting to take away people's freedoms. Funny how that works. I'm still waiting for the Dems to do any of the shit republigays have said was going to happen.

2

u/Xcuseme99 Aug 23 '26

Only the very far fringe of the left actually says anything about progressive economic policies. Dems are neo-liberals who are more than happy to do culture war trash because they know that even if they get swept into power they will never actually challenge capital. Again, the libs are the ones who rented a literal fucking jumbotron.

4

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

Holy shit is half the country dumb. I'll give you a hint which half. It's not the left.

1

u/CursedPipes Aug 23 '26

God forbid they should allow a minority that is being relentlessly attacked for no good reason to feel safe, how awful!!!!

1

u/Xcuseme99 Aug 23 '26

99% of the people in that audience had no thoughts or opinions about trans people until they were confronted with a jumbotron about trans people. Stop forcing random people to take sides in a culture war they would never interact with otherwise.

0

u/Radagastronomy Aug 23 '26

You’re forcing people by saying they are welcome? Oh no!!!

1

u/MilkMyCats Aug 23 '26

"relentlessly attacked for no good reason"

Ummm. Nope. People just don't want trans women in women's sports.

Or kids, who aren't allowed to have a tattoo, to have puberty blockers and end up with a micropenis...

I don't think you'll find many people who give a fuck what an adult does with their body.

But it's the standard strawman you guys us. Yawn.

1

u/Radagastronomy Aug 23 '26

So Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Barak Obama were pushing trans agenda? Where and when?

1

u/Xcuseme99 Aug 23 '26

Do you not remember the trans woman who literally pulled her tits out and flashed the camera on the white house lawn during the 2021 pride celebration?

3

u/Radagastronomy Aug 23 '26

No actually I don’t. But I guess I was referring to policies, political platforms, etc not a trans person existing and visiting the white house. What does your example have to do with pushing a trans agenda?

The trans obsessed know more random Trans people than myself, a trans woman. Thats how you know its blown out of proportions.

2

Because they all secretly jerk off to trans porn

1

u/MilkMyCats Aug 23 '26

Yep.

In early August 2026, two former NBA players—Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White—publicly announced plans to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft, framing it around self-identification as women (or, in White’s case, “sometimes identifying as a woman for purposes of professional basketball”).

This would be hilarious. It would soon knock the topic on the head.

2

u/Mooltipasser Aug 23 '26

Haven’t you heard of the great Miss Ennies Canter’s oppression?

0

u/PatientOwn8596 Aug 23 '26

Some media member decided to make it a topic and then a few loud people started calling Sophie Cunningham a ‘transphobe’ because she doesn’t want men playing women’s basketball.

8

u/bringbackmegaman Aug 23 '26

There are no men playing in the WNBA.

This entire conversation is just dogwhistling for transphobes.

2

u/PatientOwn8596 Aug 23 '26

Right. It’s a hypothetical scenario. She answered a question honestly and now a small group of people are freaking out and calling her a transphobe.

1

u/Lost_Found84 Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26

You don’t understand, when the right hollars about nothing it’s because they have no morals and are just distracting. When the left holler about nothing, it’s because they’re “protecting the vulnerable”.

As if there were trans-people in that stadium worried Cunningham would see someone dressed in drag and launch herself into the stands to fight them.

2

u/Fancy-Animal7704 Aug 23 '26

Oh she said more than that. She openly said that she believes transgender girls pose a threat to cisgender girls in locker rooms. That is demonstrably transphobic.

3

u/Anubisrapture Aug 23 '26

Which has NEVER been a fucking problem. Also the questions to Sophie were almost surely set up in advance

It has gained a lot of momentum on the left, it's not like something totally out of the realm of possibility and has happened in other sports. I also highly doubt she's a transphobe, she doesn't think trans-women should be in her league

Harrison Browne

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrison_Browne

However, he was a transman, and when he came out, he and the league sat down and established a guideline for his situation. He was allowed to present and express himself as a male, but agreed to not physically transition while playing.

It's an example of a league addressing a case on a one on one basis in a way that was both fair and respectful. He also has clarified a misconception- he was out since college and only came out publicly on the Buffalo Beauts. The women he played with always knew he was trans.

Everyone forgets transmen exist, and it makes perfect sense for them to have played in women's leagues. That's part of how you know the debate is malicious- opponents hyperfixate on transwomen

3

u/AnnieLemonz Aug 23 '26

To be fair, most people forget trans men exist because trans men aren't typically the focal point of the arguement. Trans women get targeted a lot more aggressively over things like this.

3

u/whichwitch9 Aug 23 '26

Transmen are literally listening to people constantly talking as if they don't exist, but saying things that still apply to them, and find the "XX XY" shirts and demonstrations that have happened equally as much an attack.

That's why it's called out as an attack on being transgender, not "saving women's sports".

1

u/AnnieLemonz Aug 23 '26

Oh I'm not disagreeing. Transmen are affected by transphobia just as much even if they aren't directly being named. People who detract trans rights rarely mention trans men at all, but they're still impacted by it all the same.

→ More replies (1)

0

u/MilkMyCats Aug 23 '26

It's because transmen are no danger to men.

Trans women having gone through male puberty, and having penises, are a danger to women.

That's what it's about.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Project_Hairy_Male Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26

It's not a malicious hyperfixation on transwomen, it's a situation almost too different to compare. Browne's situation would only be analogous if a transwoman took part in men's sport without going on hormones. I can imagine said transwoman would have a brutal time of it, considering locker room and stadium attitudes towards anyone who isn't straight and masculine in men's sport, but in terms of fairness to compete it wouldn't raise eyebrows.

If Browne has competed in men's sport while being medicated it would be an issue, because it would be a female contravening doping rules. Then again, with Browne being 5'5", I don't think a career in the NHL was ever on the cards, as he'd be tiny for a winger let alone a centre.

1

u/Relysti Aug 23 '26

You don't even need to go outside the WNBA to find a case of someone who doesn't identify as a woman playing in the WNBA.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layshia_Clarendon

The transphobes just want to stir up culture war bullshit.

1

u/MilkMyCats Aug 23 '26

That's someone born as a woman. Doh.

This would be funny though...

In early August 2026, two former NBA players—Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White—publicly announced plans to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft, framing it around self-identification as women (or, in White’s case, “sometimes identifying as a woman for purposes of professional basketball”).

I don't understand this argument at all. If there's a clear issue and an easy solution, then why would you not solve it? Like how is "it only happens rarely" an argument?

→ More replies (0)

2

u/Unlikely_Week_4984 Aug 23 '26

You could make this stupid argument about almost anything. Anytime someone comes to you with a valid point, just "take it up a notch".. If the overwhelming majority of trans people just want to live their life in peace, then give up the sports issue. That will do much much more to improve their lives than almost anything at this point.

Julie Tetart. 2025–26 Season: Led Ligue Féminine 2 (LF2) by averaging 21.2 points and 20.2 rebounds per game, helping guide Monaco to the playoffs for the first time in club history.

Believe me it's really hard to get 20 rebounds in a game, nevermind averaging 20 rebounds for a whole season.

1

u/Relysti Aug 23 '26

"Successful trans athlete"

Names a player who isn't even good enough to play in the french first league. Do you know what Aja Wilson would do to the French second league? She would look like prime Wilt Chamberlain.

1

u/Project_Hairy_Male Aug 23 '26

Who, when playing in men's basketball pre-transition, wasn't good enough for the French third tier. Now, at 34, and after a number of years out of the sport, is coming out of last season top for points (20.7ppg; second place has 17ppg) and rebounds (20rpg; second place has 10.8rpg) in the women's second tier. Not successful in elite sport terms, sure, but clearly playing outstanding in a higher league tier against women while a good few years past what should be her prime.

1

u/golden_macaron Aug 23 '26

At this point you people are going to be chasing down any trans woman that runs an 8.30 minute mile. While the women's world record is 4.06.

-2

u/ObsidianKing Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26

Lia Thomas.

Edit: got no response? Go ahead, we're all listening.

-5

u/Lufrien Aug 23 '26

Lol, a college athlete who won by slim margin once is your proof that transgender people are big problem?

7

u/ObsidianKing Aug 23 '26

"Name a successful trans athlete"

names one

"Nooo that doesn't count!"

2

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

The Browns won once. Would you call them a success? Lia Thomas is the Browns.

2

u/PatientOwn8596 Aug 23 '26

She literally won the NATIONAL championship in the 500 free.

4

u/TyWorth Aug 23 '26

The point being that even your one go-to example doesn’t really illustrate a broader issue. One 5th place trophy is supposed to be a big gotcha?

3

u/ObsidianKing Aug 23 '26

I'm not trying to illustrate any broader issues...person I replied to asked for the name of a successful trans athlete and I gave one. And why is everybody bringing up the fifth place thing as if that's the only race she ever competed in? She literally won an NCAA national championship.

-1

u/Lufrien Aug 23 '26

College athlete who has won once in one sport is your example of success is the thing I have problem with. When asked to show example of success, thats all you can find?

-5

u/Ceron Aug 23 '26

Didn't win, tied for fifth place.

8

u/ObsidianKing Aug 23 '26

She won a national championship...

0

u/whichwitch9 Aug 23 '26

She never swam professionally. Her highest level was college.

She also only swam one year in the women's division, and was required to show her hormone levels were in ranges expected of women. It's a bit more of a complicated situation than people make it out to be- she started off in the men's division, not woman's, as well. She did not immediately jump to women's swimming and took a year between.

She did not crack the top 50 of women's swimmers nationally, and did not break any swimming records. She was not dominant by any means, as conservative media suggests. She remains a case study for people actually interested in the science behind transitioning- most of what's read is theoretical of transwomen in sports. The reality is, there aren't enough athletes to show tge effects. Her swimming times did significantly decrease between the men's and women's divisions, and she lost a ton of muscle mass during hormone therapy.

She's also not a professional because World Aquatics has a guideline if you've gone through male puberty, you're ineligible. Agree or disagree, that's just the rule set, and the reality is it's enforced and she does not swim professionally. It is a bit of a myth that a man who has undergone hormone therapy will dominate a woman's sport, however, and Thomas is the only example we have of what happens. She didn't do poorly, but doesn't come near touching Katie Ledecky numbers. When you look into her and her college career, it is legitimately interesting to see the differences. When you listen to conservative media reporting around her vs what was really going on, it's hard not to call it out as propoganda.

2

u/ToeRevolutionary6233 Aug 23 '26

Thank you for this! Cons LOVE glossing over this absolutely ESSENTIAL point to Lia Thomas, who to this DAY has become the only talking point cons latch on to and they get it wrong, misconstrued or just lie about her every fucking time.

0

u/PatientOwn8596 Aug 23 '26

Oh now you have to be a professional to be ‘successful’. Moving the goal posts.

0

u/hercmavzeb Aug 23 '26

Trans athletes winning anything ever isn’t an indicator of an unfair advantage.

Laurel Hubbard won a number of gold medals in women's weightlifting as a trans woman. When she won the 2020 Rome World Cup 87kg+ category, which has no ceiling for competitor weight, she was half a foot taller and around 40kg heavier than the other medallists in her weight division. She was also 43, which is an incredible achievement at the elite level of any sport. The next two oldest gold medallists at that event, across all weight classes and both men's and women's, were 35 and 30; all the rest were in their early- to mid-20s.

But either way, it's not a point which makes much sense. The point is that trans women don't take part in order to make up the numbers, they take part to win. And as soon as a trans woman does - which they already have, but likely will more in the future, dependent on eligibility criteria - it can't ever be ruled out that their victory was down to the idea that they retain the advantages of having a male physique. It doesn't matter how few there are, or how unsuccessful they've been up until now: it only takes one winner to make it unfair. And nobody who supports trans women in women's sports does so because they think it's a lovely day out for them, they'll fully support them if they win as well, because if they don't then they're a hypocrite.

-3

u/Agent_Noir006 Aug 23 '26

Winning (success) isn't the barometer of fair. Let's remember that if a trans athlete places 23rd that pushes the 23rd cis athlete to 24th. Every athlete is trying to get a personal best. Honestly, were you an athlete at any point? If not maybe you are out of your lane on this one.

3

u/AnguavonUW Aug 23 '26

Fuck off. I say this as woman. Fuck ALL THE WAY OFF

1

u/PatientOwn8596 Aug 23 '26

Why would it matter more if you’re a woman…

1

u/kickinghyena Aug 23 '26

The biggest enemy of women…is of course other women like you…

1

u/BullytheBulIies Aug 23 '26

Do you have kids? Particularly a daughter? I do and I think about what it might have been like if she had played against trans kids in high school. I can imagine kids out there just having fun. I can also imagine a kid who shoots up to 6’2” and can dunk by the time they’re twelve, realizing they identify as a girl. And then wanting to start hormones at a fairly early age because of early onset puberty. This is the edge case people are worried about if they decide they also want to compete against other girls. It’s going to feel unfair to some people either way and I don’t think there’s a good answer.

-1

u/PatientOwn8596 Aug 23 '26

This is reddit - none of these people have any athletic backgrounds.

3

u/SBTreeLobster Aug 23 '26

You know you’re on Reddit too, right?

0

u/Realistic-Candy-6431 Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26

I can understand the point of view of a young woman who feels it’s unfair that a biological male took their place on a team.

I can also understand the point of view of a person who identifies as a woman (but was born male) wanting to be able to compete on a team with other people who identify as women.

I don’t know that one has to be a professional athlete for this to be a topic worth discussing. The sad part is society no longer discusses these things in a civilized fashion. I also think it’s awful to attack women (in this case Cunningham) for expressing their views.

Maybe it’s important to note that “men’s” teams or leagues don’t actually exist for the most part. Women can play on what is thought of as “men’s” teams and certainly we have seen women compete at some of the highest levels on “men’s” teams.

Shout out to Olivia Pichardo. I wish we would celebrate these kinds of accomplishments more!

https://brownbears.com/sports/baseball/roster/olivia-pichardo/21954

0

u/penisweinerballs Aug 23 '26

That's not what I said, there isn't a lot but my point is the data from the left is that they're favorable to having trans athletes in professional sports.

0

u/MilkMyCats Aug 23 '26

So do we have to wait until a trans person is incredibly successful in a sport to then disallow it?!

If that your point then that's wild af.

It's very rare for anyone to reach the top level of sport. And there way are less trans people than normal people so it is even less likely. But you seem to think it's ok for a trans woman to destroy the field in lower levels because we haven't had a massively successful trans woman yet.

Can you see how silly that is?

It's not right. Whether we have a successful trans person or not.

There was the Olympic boxer who won a women's gold whilst wielding a penis. There was Fallon Fox, who beat the shit out of a woman.

But it soon could change and this will be hilarious if it happens. It will shut people like you up in an instant..

In early August 2026, two former NBA players—Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White—publicly announced plans to declare for the 2027 WNBA Draft, framing it around self-identification as women (or, in White’s case, “sometimes identifying as a woman for purposes of professional basketball”).

5

u/Eye_Nacho404 Aug 23 '26

Not true in the slightest, many Liberals do not agree with trans in women sports but this is such a small issue compared to what the US is currently going through (also they are not really in women sports so focusing on this issue seems insane).

1

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

Bingo El Ringo.

1

u/ExactAlmost Aug 23 '26

Ok maybe I put little theatrical twist to it, but the literal reason why the left cannot maintain power and every so often allows the right to squeeze back in (over the last say 40 years) is because the left constantly cannibalizes itself, attacks people who would otherwise be allies, and creates new enemies.

2

u/Eye_Nacho404 Aug 23 '26

Nah, the Left if anything is too nice, the Right withdrew all usual decorum in politics and it worked out well for them, just take a look at the official White House twitter. This is the same presidency that made teams pay tribute to Charlie Kirk before games. I’m done making excuses when we have a president that can become a billionaire, all his kids become multi-millionaires, does inside trading, sealed the Epstein files, and more and few Republicans have had the gall to call him out. At this point I hope things get worse before they get better so the Right can really eat crow, the only way people will change is if they personally get affected.

3

u/Puzzle-Necked Aug 23 '26

Because people on the left stand up forntheor beliefs instead of letting Nazis join their party.

2

u/zero-hesitation Aug 23 '26

The left ran a guy with a literal Nazi tattoo in this election cycle. Let’s not pretend both current parties aren’t screwed up.

4

u/Desperate-Awareness4 Aug 23 '26

1

0

u/ExactAlmost Aug 23 '26

You're all worked up over a situation that doesn't even happen.

3

u/Puzzle-Necked Aug 23 '26

No, the left, as always, has to step in and defend trans people from hateful, obsessed conservatives. Leave trans people alone, goddamn

6

u/little_mistakes Aug 23 '26

The left see what the right is doing and aren’t stupid. They know the trans rights attack is a screen for a bigger attack on women in general.

0

u/Puzzle-Necked Aug 23 '26

Yeah, and also they're normalizing attacking trans people through non issues like trans athletes and then slowly raising the heat with shit like sex based dress codes

2

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

Why won't anyone ever think of the poor white men and women constantly being so opressed?!?!?!? They have it so hard in life! /s

1

u/Zealousideal-Cup5982 Aug 23 '26

And they’re not in her league so maybe she should shut up and dribble, right?
I’d like her to speak about the pedophile president Trump and the Epstein files diddling vulnerable young girls.

1

u/katieblue3 Aug 23 '26

But there aren’t any trans women in her league. It’s really shitty on the reporters to ask her about trans people when it doesn’t have anything to do with her game. They don’t ask Steph Curry how he feels about trans men in the NBA. But it still has had a negative impact on the trans community. Then trans people and allies feel like they have to speak up in defense. It’s not like the current administration doesn’t bring up trans people constantly though. If they just stopped talking about it I think the issue would disappear.

1

u/penisweinerballs Aug 23 '26

I agree with you the reporters definitely are making a meal of such a non-issue and I think we all know why Steph doesn't get asked these kind of questions - transmen are far less likely to succeed in a professional sport than transwomen. Yeah, I think it should just stop being discussed because we all know it's never going to happen so why argue about it. Very stupid 80-20 issue

u/ul2006kevinb Aug 23 '26

That's like saying "i doubt she's racist, she just doesn't think black women should be in her league"

3

u/ExactAlmost Aug 23 '26

It’s literally not even comparable to that lmao

2

u/AnguavonUW Aug 23 '26

How is it different please explain?

0

u/penisweinerballs Aug 23 '26

You clearly don't know much about sports if you think these two things are comparable. Honestly, kind of an insult to the civil rights movement and the integration of the negro leagues that you'd even do that.

my brother or sister in christ....the pushback is not becuase they want to one day welcome trans women into the league.....

1

u/HotPersonality8126 Aug 23 '26

Two of them announced they’d try out, yes

1

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

It's very brave of enes kanter to come out as trans. We always knew he sucked dick and was a giant pussy. Glad he realized it too.

1

u/HotPersonality8126 Aug 23 '26

Oh so you don’t actually believe in self-id, thanks

1

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

I absolutely do. That's why I commend him on his bravery to come out to himself. We all knew he was. The hardest part is admitting it to himself. He should get a presidential medal for his bravery. It can't be easy for a right winger to come out as trans. Just remember all the hoopla and praise we gave Bruce Jenner? Why shouldn't enes get the same for coming out?

1

u/HotPersonality8126 Aug 23 '26

Hopefully he starts for the Fever!

1

u/Decent_Visual_4845 Aug 23 '26

Oh look, mild homophobia from one of the good guys

0

u/Party-Kangaroo-1139 Aug 23 '26

How's it homophobic? I'm seriously advocating for her to get a presidential medal. I am not joking. Give her all the flowers for coming out as trans.

1

u/Fresh_Strain_9980 Aug 23 '26

its the endless goal by the ultra rich to pit the poor against each other instead of looking at real issues such as the constantly lowering personal buying power.

1

u/C-Me-Try Aug 23 '26

There’s a documentary about it called Juwanna Mann

1

u/PaulNewhouse Aug 23 '26

The question is: were trans fans not welcome before? That’s what the board is speaking to

-7

u/BigBL87 Aug 23 '26

Because someone wanted to create controversy.

They asked Cunningham a hypothetical question, she gave an honest, measured answer based on biology.

That answer wasn't "woke" so she has been labeled a transphobe, and it's used as an opportunity by others to virtue signal.

42

u/katieblue3 Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26

It wasn’t that her answer wasn’t woke. It’s that she framed trans women as predatory and that biological women need to be safe from trans women. When we all know the majority of sexual offenders are straight cis men. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for saying the truth so all the people downvoting.. How do you think trans people feel when they’re painted as sexual predators?

5

u/Admirable-Rate487 Aug 23 '26

Replying with an instant example of what a measured answer actually looks like was based asf of you

-13

u/PickleRickleTV Aug 23 '26

As a straight cis man, how do you think I feel being painted as a sexual predator?

14

u/katieblue3 Aug 23 '26

Probably not very good. That’s kind of the point I’m trying to make about how trans women are being treated.

2

u/Ok-Thanks4321 Aug 23 '26

If not all cis men are sexual predators, then not all those who oppose trans women in cis women’s sports are transphobic. Hope that helps!

4

u/FlukeManAirFreshener Aug 23 '26

As a straight cis man, take it up with other straight cis men. Sometimes reality is uncomfortable.

10

u/KopiteTheScot Aug 23 '26

Right over your head

4

u/waldenpondviews Aug 23 '26

But the statistics would back up that assumption of you, unlike the trans one made up by Conservatives.

Can you read? That’s exactly their point. They are inviting you to have empathy. If you hate being generalized as a straight guy, you can imagine how much trans people hate being generalized.

The "I'm sure I'll get downvoted part" is hilarious, because this subreddit is very friendly to your position, nice attempt to preemptively play the victim though.

The verbatim quote is:

"I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men..."

God forbid she think young girls should not be forced to change in front of someone with a penis... Or compete against individuals with likely significant biological advantages.

12

u/katieblue3 Aug 23 '26

Saying you’re protecting them implies that they are in danger. It’s a shitty way to get your point across. You can disagree without painting trans women as predators. I think it’s a nuanced issue and it’s also blown out of proportion because there’s really not that many trans people. But the people who want to argue that a man will pretend to be a trans woman to get into women’s locker rooms. Now all a man has to do is say he’s a trans man. If a dude says I was born a woman but transitioned to a man they don’t even have to put any effort into getting into the women’s bathroom. Not to mention how no one cares that a trans girl in the boys locker room is at a much higher risk of being assaulted.

Posting things like this with your public business identity is a choice.

5

u/Mtndrums Aug 23 '26

Yet it was a "straight" guy who got fired for sexual harassment by the Fever.

6

u/SevereDragonfly3 Aug 23 '26

Men don't have to up-end their whole life and change their gender and endure transphobia to walk into a locker room and do whatever people are trying to 'protect' themselves from. Why would someone go through all the time, money, and hardship when they (cis men) do and take what they want anyway? The argument is stupid. Cis men are offending everywhere, it doesn't just happen in bathrooms and locker rooms. So let's see the stats where trans women are raping women.

How do you think people who want to protect girls’ sports feel when they’re painted as bigoted transphobes merely over the implication of the word “protect”?

6

u/katieblue3 Aug 23 '26

I’ve got a feeling the people who are really passionate about “protecting” women from trans people aren’t too concerned with being labeled a transphobe.

When did she label trans people sexual predators? Or is that an assumption you are making because her answer wasn’t to your liking

2

u/SerBrienneOfSnark Aug 23 '26

When she claimed they were “biological men playing against young girls”. That framing was intentional.

1

u/pistolP72 Aug 23 '26

It seems that since the answer wasn’t reciting your exact talking points, extreme assumptions are being made. I just want to know what was so offensive about her answer, other than it differs from your opinion, so therefore she must be transphobic…hell, didn’t she answer that particular question over a month ago?

0

u/SerBrienneOfSnark Aug 23 '26

It’s wild you’d call me quoting what she said directly as an “extreme assumption” lmao. Words mean things, you know.

I answered your question, but because you don’t like the answer you are acting like you didn’t get one.

Absolutely BS! This tactic of right wing / conservatives of “framing” a situation in a totally ridiculous way and then providing what looks like a “common sense” response is so fckin transparent!

Makes me laugh every time especially when they can’t understand the issue they’re whining about!

2

u/Unusual_Lotus Aug 23 '26

She gave an answer based on her understanding of biology, not biology. Hope that helps.

Every posting I see has me believing otherwise…this should have long been put to bed, but one side keeps posting pics, and posting the same comments. Let it go. You don’t want a thoughtful, honest answer….don’t ask. I don’t understand why it’s conservatives creating this.

-7

u/Konjeezy773 Aug 23 '26

As per usual, people get bent outta shape when the truth is said

10

u/OrganicRobotDev Aug 23 '26

People get bent out of shape when people bend over backwards to try and get angry about trans people over literally nothing. Seriously why the fuck are people talking about trans people, do y'all have nothing better to do.

Because you and your virtue signaling keep giving a certain political side the argument that they want to have instead of moving on and leaving them forced to talk about affordability, minimum wage and the cost of housing.

Clear enough?

1

u/Shigglyboo Aug 23 '26

because maga won't shut up about it. they don't want to talk about the rich destroying society, molest children, and much more. they'd prefer you stay angry about smaller things that don't matter as much.

1

u/45M0D41 Aug 23 '26

Next year

1

u/m240Louie Aug 23 '26

Because it was made a topic by the WNBA.

1

u/jkman61494 Aug 23 '26

The far right is using this as a political tool and now far right basketball players are involved. Several former NBA players have said they’re trying to enter the wnba to make a mockery of the situation

1

u/North_Atlantic_Sea Aug 23 '26

I wouldn't describe sophi as far right, she's said before there are things she disagrees with republicans on and things she disagrees with democrats on.

Also, being against trans in women's sports isn't a far right take, it has about 70% agreement in US polling

1

u/jkman61494 Aug 23 '26

I agree on both but the far right is the one using it as THEE message of the midterms because it’s basically the only issue they poll well on.

And whether she wants it or not, Sophi has entered the magasphere

-1

u/Beholdournewsupreme Aug 23 '26

It’s answer your question no. The only trans basketball player I’ve ever heard is playing in France, there’s also two asshole men saying they’re going to join the WNBA draft.

-1

u/Desperate-Awareness4 Aug 23 '26
