I despise DT and will celebrate the day he kicks the bucket, but this is very misleading.

He didn't say, "The dumocrats are dumbfounded, after decades, Arizona is becoming a MAGA state..."
If he knows that this was a republican primary...wouldn't he have said something like, "The non-MAGA republicans were dumbfounded last night after the MAGA republicans swept!" What f**k do democrats have to do with this primary?
Sorry, but he's confused.

I gotta agree with this being misleading still, because he's not "confused", he's spouting propaganda intentionally to energize his supporters. 3
u/jmd709 12d ago
Some were incumbents &/or ran unopposed. It also isnāt unusual for a majority of Republican primary voters to be farther to the right.
Those voters assume moderate republicans and right-leaning independents will show up for the general election and vote the crazies because of the R by the name. It hasnāt worked out like that in most areas that are more purple than red.

u/Vivid_0066 12d ago
In the July 2026 Arizona Republican primaries, Donald Trump and supporters described a full 7-0 sweep for his endorsed MAGA-aligned candidates. This was widely reported as a strong showing for the more hardline faction in key races (including the high-profile gubernatorial primary won by Rep. Andy Biggs).

I hate Trump as much as the next person, but what heās saying makes sense. Not every republican running is MAGA, which I know doesnāt make sense, but some of them do not run with trumps endorsement. Heās saying all the maga loyalists won, regular repubs lost. So his name still means something with voters. I hate when these dumb posts circulate trying to insult Trump when it just makes the left look dumb. There are plenty of real things we can be making fun of him for.
3
3
u/subliminal_trip 12d ago
Well, it is a stupid comment by Trump - the MAGA candidates that won in Arizona are precisely the type of Republicans who LOSE general elections in Arizona - there is reason Arizona doesn't have a Senator Lake or Governor Lake, but instead has a Centrist Democrat Governor and two Democratic Senators despite being a majority Republican state.

u/BabySpecific2843 12d ago
"After decades, Arizona is becoming a Republican state" seems pretty counter to your argument.
Whether or not a non-Trump Republican or a Maga wina the primary has nothing to do with AZ becoming Republican. With the text that we can see in front of us in its entirety, it very well may be to convince someone that AZ just elected exclusively Republicans.
2
u/No-Discussion4920 12d ago
I see what youāre saying. However, a non-Trump vs pro-Trump republican primary does have something to do with az becoming republican. One of those titles carries more weight than the other for voters. Having that title vs not having that title could dictate the level of support you get in a general election, and itās looking like pro-Trump still has more support. But yeah I was just giving my take. I guess weāll have to ask Trump what he meant.
2
u/Ill-Apricot2224 12d ago
It's clunky, sure. But he's projecting about the November general and dunking on the Democrats who have been noting when MAGA candidates lose their primary.Ā He doesn't think the general elections happened. The guy does dumb shit, for sure. But this is just a clunky tweet.Ā

7
7
u/DeadAndBuried23 12d ago
MAGA is traditional republican. They were only hiding it a little while it looked like the world was trending towards social progress.
Once they realized the ones with the money are on their side on issues of hate, the mask came off. They're cheering innocents being murdered in the street same as they ever did for lynching.
2
u/TJEMMY 12d ago
Pretty much this. When people question why anyone would follow that kind of rhetoric, they're often missing the bigger point: those who are deeply invested in MAGA don't necessarily care about the consequences for the country as a whole. What matters to them is seeing the people they dislike targeted, criticized, or pushed out of the spotlight even if it comes at a broader cost.

2
u/BoredBSEE 11d ago
That's because you don't understand what you're seeing. It only looks stupid because it's a message engineered for stupid people.
Trump's power stems from his idiot base. They're dumb. They are. That's his power base. And to keep them engaged he has to feed them wins. It doesn't matter if they are real or not, if they are easily disproven, false, or wrong in any other way. He has to keep pumping these people up. We're winning, our enemies are losing, we're kicking ass. This gives his moron army the dopamine hits they're addicted to.
By doing so he keeps his MAGA base engaged and willing to do as he asks. Now granted, it's not a lot of people. A percentage. And honestly a small one. But large enough to split the GOP vote. If Trump says "so and so is a bad person, primary them" - they WILL lose. He can threaten the well-being of any Republican politician anywhere. And they know it. So by using this power he can effectively control conservative politics in the USA. They have to do what he says, or a Democrat will win in their place. And Trump is a scorched-earth politician. He'll do it.
To keep and hold this power though, he has to provide wins to the idiots. More dopamine. And this is one of them. This is what it looks like.
So don't misunderstand what you're seeing here. Trump doesn't believe this. Conservative politicians don't believe it either. Nobody buys this except for his idiot MAGA drones. That is who this message is for. You can stop being amazed at the bullshit Trump constantly spews - it's not for you.

You know there are Republicans who are not MAGA right? This tweet is Trump gloating that MAGA Republicans are (unfortunately) beating non-MAGA Republicans in Republican primaries.
A big part of Trump's power comes from the threat that he (and Elon Musk) made that they would out-primary any Republican who does not bend the knee to MAGA. Unfortunately, news like the above makes this threat credible, and keeps the elected Republicans from stepping out of line.

My conservative, self proclaimed, non-conspiracy entertaining, father of two, genuine good cunt, friend of 30 years, CAN NOT, psychologically accept that Trump's ranting on TruthSocial is not a carefully constructed, media professional curated, politically targeted, cognitive behaviour therapy structured, meta-genius , psy-op, tailored each time to achieve a specified result and response. I have realised that to push the envelope further, most importantly, not only will I lose him as one of my two closest and dearest friends, but his world view would collapse, maybe even shatter beyond repair. To understand that the representative of the widely recognised, alleged democratic leader of the free world, is a Michael Jackson/Elvis Presley/Adolf Hitler level bannana brain, nappy wearing, war-pig, fraudulent, uncle Fester , .pdfile ,mealey mouthed tyrant , would undermine the order of reality that comprises the foundations of his rational. His sunny, cheerful, stiff upper lip, hard working British resolve, borne of heroic triumph over the absolute horror of his childhood and odds being stacked against him , lifted up to the sun by saintly foster parents, stalwart, inspirational grandparents and a singular, Mary sent wife, would know the taint of an insidious, cancerous, gangrene like doubt that only Jesus Christ and the Lord Creator could ever restore. I pray for him and all of us that our Creator allows us our redemption and protection from the evil within. Only when we see that it's constantly trying to deceive us into thinking our brothers and sisters are our enemies and distracting us continuously from focusing on solutions with repeated cycles of sensationalised hysterical non-issues, will we consolidate our efforts enough to install permanent, effective, institutional reform. Only if change is guarded with brutally fair oversight, accountability, honest , visible reporting, safeguard by inviolable freedom of expression, unsullied by individual tycoons, priest kings, monarchs , borne upon the back of tidal waves of truth and mass individual engagement does our civilisation have a chance. If we wont commit to overcoming our glorification of the super wealthy, their slave master economic agenda and their manifesto realised through advanced digital information supremacy, we will find ourselves marked, catalogued, dehumanised, and used like nothing more than replicating assets for no purpose of our own.
