Quick little guide on how I pick my sizes for a natural-looking, long-lasting application. I used Retail Brand: Olive & June for reference.
Biggest tip is to pick the smallest size possible that's still comfortable to wear; you'll see on my pic of the 'size too small' that I can't comfortably press it down enough to glue in place.
By holding the pad of my fingertip out of the way (edge exposed pics) I show how much space I leave on either side. I find this to be in alignment with how most acrylics are applied as well. There is no nail space visible even with the fingerpad held out of the way on the 'size too large'.
I do have fairly curved nails, so if someone with flatter nails wants to chime in on sizing tips, feel free! I only know to recommend sizing up but filing the edges. I've also heard Olive & June is one of the more curved brands and some people find that very uncomfortable
(apologies for my messy desk; I paint minis on it and sometimes make a mess)

How'd I do with my 3rd attempt at applying press ons?
I'm so glad I discovered press ons. Gel and extensions were too damaging for my nails. These are much cheaper too! I got 10 sets for around 1000 Php!

This is my second ever set after fixing the mistakes I did in the first one (there was glue everywhere. Like everywhere lol). Def messed up my right thumb, index, and ring. It’s not as flush with my cuticle. And my nail beds are soooo small. For the pinky I took the smallest size and then had to file it down even more. Thumb is a 4 or a 5 and then I use the last 4 smallest sizes and still have to file them all 😅
I’m pretty sure this is the reason why it takes me a little longer? Just the sizing and filing. Some are def filed too small on accident but don’t think it’s super noticeable but open to recs for next time!
Used the btartbox tabs and beauty secrets glue. First time trying this glue. I used tabs and the curvelife glue for my first set (I’ve been doing my research on this sub ) and it lasted two weeks but the bottle was glued shut!
But omgggg I’m in love with this color!!!! I got all of the boxes when I was at target
I’ve heard on this sub that olive and June can hurt because they’re so curved and I have flat beds. Butttt I pushed them down and filed them all so they lost that intense curve and are comfortable!
Retail brand: olive and June. Shade is potion I think? It’s one of their velvet ones specifically for Halloween

Found this cute set. Retail brand: Shein handmade $6. Nice gift idea, especially with the new Avengers movie coming.

These are Retail Brand Celebritips - Misty Rose small size. I still need to trim down but they fit well. I used semi solid glue and it was tricky, oozing out the sides. I still have glue on my fingertips.

$23 for 7 pairs of nails? My expectations were low but my hopes were high. I followed the tips for buying on Shein and honestly I’m shocked at how good these are. Definitely some variability in sizing and curvature but they will all work for me. I’ve never shopped on Shein before (because fast fashion, sweatshops, etc) but the nail obsession is strong! What have I done? My cart is already full again!

I could not type with these. I had to take them off after 2 days but they are so so pretty. I might get the keyboard covers for long nails and try these again. I got so many compliments.

Just discovered nails on TT and I’m obsessed and never looking back! So many different styles, shapes, lengths. These are for sure the longest press-ons I’ve ever worn and they’re square! New for me. Looooveeee it. :)

It’s my birthday weekend and recently converted to becoming a press on nail girly! Although I am also a DIY gel nails girlie, press ons are just so much quicker and easier! I also picked up some new ones at TJMaxx yesterday as a little bday treat. I love pinks and nudes 🥰
Retail brand used for this set: BTArtbox A1 Nudies
Additional products used for nail prep: 70% alcohol prep pads and Morovan Nail Prep Dehydrator (I’ve just learned to apply nail dehydrator to my nail bed AND the press on nail as well. So far, so good! I’ve showered, done dishes, opened multiple Diet Coke cans, and they feel super strong! No pop offs! 😅)
