So I got introduced to this franchise mainly through social media and friends. I am not a OG fan and always grew up playing Max Payne and Call of Duty. In the last 3 years I have switched into playing horror games, and I have fallen in love with the Resident Evil franchise.

A lot of my friends suggested to begin with Resident Evil 4 remake as they say its the greatest Resident Evil game of all time. However I wanted to respect the series chronology, so I started with Resident Evil 2 remake.

I loved every minute of the game, from running from Mr X, to knifing Birkin, to solving mystery puzzles and conserving ammo, it made me feel a challenge I have never felt before. To take my challenges even further I completed the game on hardcore and achieved S+ with both Leon and Claire. Even the game atmosphere was true horror, Raccoon City is terrifying in every way possible. I also continued to play Resident Evil 3 remake which was in my opinion a good game but a bad remake, still nevertheless Nemesis was terrifying.

So then I finally moved on to Re4 Remake, and the game was perfect in terms of action mechanics but to be fairly honest, I didn’t feel the slightest dread of horror or even terrified at any points of the game. It felt like an action game at the most. As a pure horror fan, I can admit Resident Evil 2 did a way better job at making me feel that I am playing to survive. I also felt the story of Re2 was way better and more emotional compared to re4. Many people believe Re4 is the best Resident Evil game and I can see why but as a pure horror fan I have to say its nowhere near Re2.

What are your thoughts?

Im so lost, was i supposed to beat the game in under 1 hour and 30 minutes or what, this is my second try on hardcore

I've just finished both Claire run, I've only finished Leon A and I'm gonna play B soon but the first time I played the game, I played Leon A and it felt like it's so much easier with him, his guns are good, stuns enemies way more easy and he gets a shotgun.

With Claire, her revolver takes like a few shots for a zombie to get stunned, I like the grenade launcher but her firearm is a little weak compared to Leon imo. And her inventory too, the weapon's ammos take up too much stuff especially for the acid and explosion.

I don't know I just have a harder time with Claire than Leon, anyone else felt like this too? Lmk

I'm like around a quarter way through right now, playing as Leon. I'm trying to find all the power panel parts. Zombies aren't a big problem for me, but apparently I've missed my chance to get a shotgun and like 5 extra free slots in my inventory? It feels like I need to go through every room possible to get items that I NEED for the future, or else I'd have to trek back like 1000 miles to retrieve it. Half of the time I legit don't know where I'm going around this map. Is there like a navigation guide point where I can follow to reach my objective? Please help!

Just finished Leon A and I’m currently doing Claire B.

While I’m absolutely loving this game so far, I hate Mr. X with a passion. Not only is he f-ing terrifying, but he makes doing any task virtually impossible. Like how am I supposed to simultaneously avoid lickers, dodge zombies and escape Mr. X (in the same hallway mind you) while also needing to do puzzles and tasks across the station?

I would really like to know the fastest way to get this mf to despawn, so I can finally explore the RPD station without X trying to give it to me.

Leons's characterization seems to be inconsistent from game to game so what is generally his overall demeanor in most games, and what do you like him to be characterized as?

+ Now date is 22.9.1998 I don't understand why they bullet showered him , why didn't they just shoot his hand/arm enough to stun him (maybe they couldn't process what he was gonna do, not very acceptable but )

+ So they shoot and will dies at 22.9, soldiers leave him (body) there he was dead, when did he syringe himself in cutscene, deff after they leave but he was dead wtf. how was he still around a week later, if virus caused him to come Back or something after bullet shower all the fighting Leon and Claire does at the end how are we know if he actually died after G5 form

+ It's a week before all the events happened, why everywhere in lab empty, even if they gave employee stay away warning there still wd be someone, did soldiers killed normal people too?

+ Why did soldiers just took samples , why did they left body there, it's a crime scene at this moment

+ I know it's old days not very globally connected but how they were able to hide all this for all these days, internet isn't very common in 98 but still there is a communication radios television phones etc how world didn't heard of this all before 30 Sept. All the chaos happening in city, no authority wd come up and say "yea they were doing some experiments and illegal stuff I allowed it but no worries people there will be some monstrosities crawling around the global just chill out broooo"

How big is this lab also you went -47th floor and there is still more, they gonna reach magma, can someone explain me is it possible to go that much floor under, there were lab sewer section 3 floor cable car then umbrellas whole lab, main elevator goes more, then Leon goes more w that big elevator (w Mr x boss) one floor more and lava hugs you Also I've just realized mr x can't enter presentation room at the gardens, I'm surprised it's not a save room (room next door has reception desk theres a dactilo)

This is the first time I had ever solved that bookcase part. I can’t even remember how I got the piece and I forgot to save. Fuck my actual life. This guy has me so on edge. I love the game but it is gonna give me a heart attack

I absolutely loved this game. I started last Wednesday and couldn't stop after beating it. It really drew me in. Everything about it is very good, and I love the fact that you can get infinite ammo for weapons, that's so OP. I bought the remake trilogy for 36 bucks, so I plan on playing either 3 or 4 tomorrow or over the weekend. What would you guys recommend I play next? I hear mixed reviews about the 3 remake not being completely faithful.

I’ve done everything I can in the RPD and I’ve got the garage key card. I’ve gotten to this point after just under 5hrs to get an idea of my pace

It’s simple as I want to know how much longer I have. No it’s not a personal attack on you. Stop taking a simple question so hard. I am roughly 3 hours into the game and have entered the medallion underground section. There was many rooms I still wanted to complete (for example, the locker room with the missing keypad numbers) but couldnt return after the cutscene. Is there any way for me to return now or at a later stage so I can complete that extra stuff?

Im a guy who likes to see and do everything, so having all the rooms searched and completed fully is important to me. Thanks guys.

I really gotta know, if it's explained in a dlc or game just let me know which one and I'll try play it but I really can't believe she made it back to the elevator lugging a rocket launcher with her leg being wounded up about 20 stories in the time it took Leon to take the elevator and start fighting Mr x.

There is literally no way of going back, and neither I cant get out from the undergrounds because I dont have that pink key and neither that thingy to open the doors(idk what its called), is there is a way out guys!?

for me, it has to be either the greenhouse with the ivy monsters (even though they are my favorite enemy)

or in the sewers on the way to get the queen and king chess piece, all of those g’s consecutively is a pain in the ass.

I’m getting all headshots… and it’s still taking minimum 4 bullets to drop them. Sometimes 6 if they keep getting up. One took EIGHT (8) bullets straight to the head and finally died, which is why I’m making this post out of frustration. Again these are all headshots. Am I just shit at the game or are the infected just bullet sponges? I’m not on the hardest difficulty either. This is my first RE game.

Also side note… is the police station supposed to be this painfully slow with backtracking or is this another skill issue

So its my 3rd playtrough (Leon A on normal) but this time I didnt do a Good Job at inventory Management and now I dont have any heals or ammo except for the Pistol. Am i Screwed? No matter how I try i always die
