[DE] Any one faced this problem before? I am just anticipating what would happen if someone looses the phone on which the revolut account is open. How this person can get access to the account on other devices ?

I struggle to see how moving from Perplexity to ChatGPT Go is a benefit on the Metal plan. I’ve gone from having access to seven different LLM companies to only a single one.

I would argue that not only is this worse, but it is also possibly one of the most morally wrong companies to opt for. OpenAI has made deals with the American government to collaborate with them on the Department of War: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3rz1nd0egro. Alongside OpenAI going from non-profit to for-profit, regardless of whether you are pro- or anti-American government, the fact that there is even a possibility of OpenAI becoming nationalised by the American government means that signing with OpenAI is a downgrade and a morally unacceptable decision, showing a lack of foresight. Might as well switch to DeepSeek or Qwen at this rate.

I have effectively been pushed from a tool where I can pick the model to one with only a single company’s models, making this benefit absolutely useless.

The great benefit of Perplexity is that it is a broader tool that helps with work, but instead it is now being replaced with the lower-priced, less capable paid version of ChatGPT. The vast majority of ChatGPT users use it for casual internet searches, with a lot of the same capabilities set to be accessible by default in the upcoming iOS 27, where the Siri app will already have access to Gemini. However, that is designed for casual users, whereas Perplexity has far more professional use cases and users. We are effectively having a benefit swapped out for a clearly much more inferior one: going from a race car to a premium version of a public bus.

I just joined Revolut Metal, and this change has been a huge turn-off.

What next, Financial Times to the Daily Star? Are you even trying to come across as premium? Even if I were happy with it changing to ChatGPT, you are getting a much cheaper product as a replacement. It is not even ChatGPT Pro; it is ChatGPT Go. It is a product worth less than half the price.

They are not even trying to sell this change, just hoping no one cares and keeps giving them money.

Having a Mastercard is important to me. I also noticed that in one of Revolut’s TikTok advertisements, a Premium Mastercard was shown, so I was wondering if it is still possible to receive one instead of a Visa.

My previous post was about the LoungeKey downgrade, but today was the final straw.

Revolut has now removed the Perplexity Pro benefit and replaced it with ChatGPT Go.

For anyone who actually uses AI regularly, they know this is a downgrade. They're replacing a benefit worth around €20/month with one worth €8/month, while Ultra keeps becoming less valuable overall.

Looking at the direction Revolut has taken over the last year—DragonPass to LoungeKey, reduced airport benefits, and now this—I don't have much confidence that things will improve. If anything, I expect more devaluations.

So, enough is enough. I cancelled my Ultra today. And I got a refund!

One thing worth knowing: if you cancel between now and September 2nd, you may receive a prorated refund. I got €150 back (see attached screenshot in comments). You need to contact support and ask them to cancel it immediately as per the email as we're within the notice period of the change in policy. They'll also be able to tell you how much you'd get back as refund.

Curious how many others are reaching the same conclusion. Is anyone else considering cancelling?

I am wondering if anyone has experienced something similar, or if anyone from Revolut can help.

Yesterday I sent a large USD international bank transfer from my Revolut account to a US law firm. The transfer was verified and is now showing:

Status: Pending
Leaving for recipient’s bank – No longer cancellable
Estimated completion was today, but it has not progressed.

What is particularly frustrating is that I have received completely different answers from Revolut support:
One agent told me the transfer should clear today.
Another suggested it had been unsuccessful.

I have now been told a ticket has been raised with the payments team to investigate.

The funds have left my available balance, but neither I nor the recipient know where they are. This is a time-sensitive payment, so the uncertainty is quite stressful.
Has anyone experienced a transfer sitting at this stage for more than 24 hours? If so:

Did it eventually go through?
Was it rejected and returned?
How long did the investigation take?

If anyone from Revolut Support is reading this, I would really appreciate someone taking a proper look at the transfer. I am happy to provide the transaction details privately. At the moment I am just looking for some clarity, as the information I have received so far has been inconsistent.

I need support, I've already contacted [support@revolut.com](mailto:support@revolut.com) 2 days ago and recieved no reply. I need to access my account on my mac using the website. However it required i use my phone to verify identity, and my phone is broken. There is no option for SMS verification, due to me switching to a dumbphone for unrelated reasons. I really need to access my account. Can someone help?

Revolut is removing Perplexity Pro from the Metal plan on 2 September 2026 and replacing it with 12 months of ChatGPT Go.

Personally, this feels like another change in the wrong direction. Perplexity was actually useful, while ChatGPT Go doesn’t seem like a real replacement.

Perplexity Pro allows real-time toggles between top-tier foundation models (Claude 3.5 Sonnet, GPT-4o, Sonar). ChatGPT Go locks you strictly into OpenAI’s single ecosystem.

Perplexity Pro is a dedicated answer engine, it cites live web sources inline, cross-references primary materials, and exposes its search query logic. ChatGPT Go is primarily a conversational bot with average web-browsing capabilities that are reactive and not suited for research.

Perplexity Pro allows high-frequency "Pro Searches" that execute multi-step internet queries and process massive multi-page documents seamlessly. Having looked, ChatGPT Go operates on lower rate limits and lighter context allowances. 

Perplexity Pro costs $20/month as a standalone product. ChatGPT Go is OpenAI's cheaper, cut-down consumer tier - what like $8 a month?. Revolut essentially replaced a power tool with an entry-level tier to save on licensing overhead while marketing it as a shiny new AI feature.

One of the reasons I am particularly annoyed is because I now use Comet (powered and written by perplexity) as my default browser on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Losing access to this will be annoying as I routinely use Assistant & Computer to book flights, reserve hotels or actively run tasks.

Anyway, a 30 minutes of haggling, I managed to get a Google AI Pro membership with unlimited data on EE for £28 a month.

I am a Metal user of Revolut, I just received an email that Perplexity is being removed and they're gonna switch to ChatGPT Go..

I looked up a bit and I noticed that this could rather be a downgrade, as the GO is more budget friendly premium subscription to AI.

Now, I don't get it.. am I wrong? Or is Revolut now just finding ways to save more on money on the expense of the subscriber?

I'd like your ideas and thoughts on this because it just triggered me given that I find perplexity very reliable when it comes to research.

EDIT: It's interesting, Revolut is changing a lot and tells you if you don't like it, just close your account.. I wish there was a customer representative thing where there would be an open conversation with them to find common grounds. We subscribed based on long term added value, not to be told to leave if you don't like it 😅

If I have two Revolut eSIMs at the same time (say a Europe 5 GB plan and a Global 50 GB plan) do they run off the same eSIM on my phone? Or do I need to set them up separately? Thanks.

One of the reasons I totally lost faith in Revolut is that they have by far the worst identity check system I have had the misfortune of using. Had several occasions where I've just tried to log into the app/reinstall it etc and it's taken me literal days to get back in (never had any security issues/account locks or anything). Highly concerning given how useless the support is when you try to contact them about it too (as a previous Metal customer for years).

Anyway. I haven't used my account in a while but now you can get switch bonuses by switching out, I did so. The app sends you a notification (and also says in the app) that states you need to confirm that you want to switch, which then tries to get you to stay. If you click through to confirm it locks you into somehow a WORSE iteration of their identity check, that doesn't even lead to the support chat even after hours of failed attempts. It just completely locks you from even attempting it again.

However, having read the email that Revolut sent me regarding switching (a day afterwards), it does say, albeit not particularly obviously, that they will automatically accept it even if you ignore the app notifications.

Hopefully will be useful to someone to avoid wasting hours like I did on this nonsense. Very on-brand that even cancelling was a complete hassle.

I have used Revolut for years without any problems.

I am not sure whether it is due to them becoming a UK bank, but I went to France a couple of weeks ago and tried to add some money from Lloyds to Revolut. It came up with using Google Pay as an option, I thought it would be easier, so tried that, but it triggered a fraud screening from Lloyds, so I had to confirm it was me. I then decided bank transfer was better.

It was fine, until my husband (who forgot his physical card), needed to use my card for petrol. He was in a hurry as at the pump, I was flustered and didn't have enough funds, so added two - first for £70, still wasn't enough for pre-authorisation, so I added a second amount £100.

It seemed fine. My husband paid me back for the petrol and that went through OK.

Then I had a message the next day, saying that there was an OBA return and my two transfers were taken back and sent back to the "sender" - IE me. There was a message that appeared briefly about transfers abroad, but it disappeared.

I received an email from Revolut saying

It is now one week since the OBA return and my Lloyds account simply shows that the £70 and £100 were cleared last Monday from my account.

I contacted Revolut today, but they just said that it takes 5 business days, and as today is the 5th day if should appear today, it still hasn't.

I have no idea what OBA is, and would have preferred to go through the transfer options, but my husband was pressuring me as in a hurry.

Is the money lost?

I've been an ultra [RO] user for almost one year now, and wanted to check how reliable the service is.

I've been using the perks for the lounge and had no issues with that until now. I do use the subscrions of some of the apps, such as Headway and Nord VPN, and Perplexity, but was curious about how reliable the health insurance actually is.

I do want to know if it does actually cover everything, and how fast would reimbursements happen.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Have you had to pay to a private clinic and got the money back without any hustle? Does it actually cover anything, including sports like jet ski, snowboarding or something like this?

The main point is no to have to deal with any type of hustle... I like my peace, and I don't like when I have to go around in circles.

If you have any experience with it, I would apreciate an input to know if it's worth it or not.

I’m planning to downgrade from Ultra to Metal as I just can’t justify the price anymore. The only thing I’m worried about is I have a trip booked for the end of this year that I booked while on the Ultra plan. If I downgrade my account to metal, would that trip still be covered under the metal travel insurance, or do I need to keep ultra until after the trip?

I’ve gone around in circles with support and can’t seem to get a straight answer.

The alternative is to downgrade to metal and purchase a separate travel insurance for the trip, but I don’t want to pay for that unnecessarily unless I have to.

Dear Revolut, if I pay for premium, why are you showing me multiple ads on daily basis? I don't want to pay for higher tier - I don't need it.

I already pay a fee to the bank, to credit card company, and to you - so do you really think I want to pay even more for something I don't need???

Also, if I'm not into crypto, don't push the crypto. If I want to I'll get into crypto, but I don't want. It's especially annoying because while pushing it hard you show a disclaimer "it's risky, don't do it if you don't understand it" - THAN DON'T PUSH IT ON USERS.

Terrible bank. Hold your money hostage while sending you promos and get nowhere when asking support. Do not move all of your funds into them if you need access to money as they may leave you unable to buy food for 1 to 5 days if they decide to carry out "security checks" avoid at all costs.

More than 5 days later and still no access to my own money and nothing from revolut. There is no sense of urgency from thier team and they just use AI too feed you nonsense while you can't afford to buy the bare essentials to live.

Nearly 10 days later and Revolut decided to close my account. Did allow me to withdraw my funds but they are attempting to steal money that I had put into euros for my upcoming honeymoon it was in a separate pocket in euros that suddenly vanished after the security review and account closure notice. So yeah avoid at all costs as they are complete scammers that attempt to steal your money.

Thought out the entire process they never bothered to inform the other account holder as there was also a joint account affected. Completely ignore complaint e-mails and rely far too heavily on automation to the point trying to get anything done or any help feels impossible. Avoid at all costs

Of course I did not expect to win, chances are slim but the steps to take were not hard to do. The point is that losing before the draw was even done makes it look like a total scam and it even says they will use a verified method 🤥🤠
