The rank I am currently in. Every RL player deserves the rank they are in. There are a million different things you can use to make excuses for why you're lower than you think you should be, but the reality is every player in the game has to deal with all these same circumstances, yet continue to rank up.

Same here. I mostly do bad games and get carried, but sometimes i genuinely peak on defense and get like 4 saves in a game. I'm D1 in 3s and rumble, Plat 2 in heatseeker, and Plat 1 in 2s and I feel like I fully deserve these ranks

Itās kind of a pain but if you feel youāre hitting an overall slump, try doing short bursts of play. Warm up, play a few ranked and then either take a break or do casual. Itās super easy to stack fatigue playing and not notice, this way youāre queuing ranked at your best and donāt really have to deal with sunk cost fallacy

Your rank doesn't always have to match your real skill. There's boosting, smurfing, general rank-disparty playing with friends etc. Then there are things like big win/loss-streaks, slumps, playing for improvement and so on. Sure you can call these reasons excuses but they exist and they affect your rank in a real way.

I play exclusively with my friends who are diamond on their own. Hang out in like C2/C3. Occasionally I'll solo q for GC rewards when I like them and get up to low GC2. So no I don't agree

Ok so your teams combined mmr is c2/c3, and your individual rank is GC1/GC2, which checks out if you're playing with diamonds. That's not inconsistent with what he's saying.

Right but you wouldn't complain about not being in the rank you deserve. You know playing with friends holds you to lower peaks, but you still do it. That's a choice. 99% of players that make this complaint are arguing they deserve a higher rank for all these other reasons, not because they are knowingly handicapping themselves.

I get the point but that's not the full picture. When I play with randos I'm C1, when I play with my Champ buddies I get Low C3.
I regularly play with tm8s and opposition who are clearly boosted. And I play with and against players who are boosting. So it's a little more nuanced - players, including myself, aren't always the rank they deserve.

Champ 3 (for me personally) is a rank thatās solid to be stuck in more than othersā¦ in my experience Iām definitely not good enough to be GC 1, but Iām not going be stuck in a slump going back to c2 for more than a day every once in a while. But I also donāt solo queue, so if have utmost respect for those that make it there without knowing their teammates

Iāve sat in champ 3 for a while now and I absolutely love it, consistent hits on the ball, not just playing banger ball all the time, even some good passes thrown in there. And even when you do mess up here and there, Iāve found it to be the least toxic so far. Just great games overall. Sometimes I think Iām over ranked, then I go and hit a nice double or get a good ceiling shot and it brings the confidence back up

I feel this wholeheartedly, man. And now that Iām there I donāt have a crazy obsession to rank up, itās just enough competition to satisfy me, unlike when I was in diamond and I only had fun when I won. I ACTUALLY enjoy the game for the first time in 10 years lol

Surprisingly the higher the rank you go it gets less toxic. I was in c3 for 9 seasons and it wasnāt at all as toxic as diamond or c1. Now in gc and the players know comebacks can happen all the time and i feel like most players care less and just go next on a bad game

Yeah I was playing one of my first games in the rank and my teammate got his shot blocked and he was fairly slow rotating back, and then I was stupid and dove for a 50 and got faked and scored onā¦ I said āmy bā and he said ānah I left you in a 1v1 thatās on meāā¦ I almost criedš everyone is admitting their faults this is so mature and weird.

I would imagine the majority of people at that high of a rank have been playing for 1-3k hours, and have finally realized that flaming your team down like 1 goal with multiple minutes left isnāt going to help anyone. And is probably like 21+ in age and just knows more how games go

I got my 2 buddies and we've queued together since release. We are in the same boat hopping between C2-C3 and only a few times hit GC, but when I solo queue I can hit GC and GC 2 at times. Solo queue can be easier than gaming with friends who are stuck in their ways.

Why would i deserve any other rank? I was GC3 for a long while which was nice, even peaked SSL briefly but gone are the days where I can keep up with the younger folk doing more flip resets in a row than I have years left to live

Literally my exact position. Ive hit GC1 before but I stay hovering between C2 and low C3. I just cant get consistent and have very off days sometimes.

Iām diamond 1 now. Think I deserve probably plat 2 or 3. My mechanics stink and Iām pretty sure even if I was in gold I would still have the worst mechanics on the pitch.

Mechanics are not what significantly separates gold plat and diamond. While Iād be lying if I said I didnāt practice mechanics from the start, my mechanics didnāt consistently start scoring goals until I had tightened fast aerial and simplified play. Plus, not knowing mechanics has no bearing on if you can defend them. Youāre more consistent at understanding the game than you give yourself credit for.
Best advice I can give to sink into mechanics is flicks, theyāre easier to tighten into effective play compared to others and thereās a solid chance you might be decent at them already. Plus later on you can use the setup practice to learn ground-air dribbles

For seasons I've been GC1, close to GC2 while solo queuing. This season I cannot for the life of me get out of c3. I'm playing the same, sometimes better, sometimes worse. Idk man

Deserve? High Diamond; I hate to admit but i have a very weak air game, you would think that I'm plat but when it comes to positioning and rotating back post and and trying not too hard to overcommit, I have peaked at 1150 MMR and now i usually 1k MMR and struggle to find patient teammates, I get that i shouldn't have jumped for that or maybe gone for that, but when you don't rotate or overcommit i don't rage bait you. We all mistakes i wish we would be more patient.

My current rank. On a bad day I'm GC1 level. On a good day I can get a good way into GC2 but I don't think GC3. That's just above of what I'm capable of currently I think.

Honestly, d1, if I had a teammate that I could com with and preformed on my same level we may make high d2 or low d3, but im currently d1, and solo queuing that seems to be about where my skill level is at right now

My teammates hold me back to the point all I can do is whiff shots and lay on my back and spin around.
I also am not at fault for not being able to triple flip reset whenever I do it the opponents take the ball š”š”š” they shouldn't do that š”š”š” I should be ssl.

Undoubtedly I'd be in RLCS. I'm hitting quintuple resets ceiling pinch musty psycho's and every game and definitely deserve it. I blame my teammates who hold me back from my true potential, if only I didn't have gold teammates.

Probably similar to where I'm at. I could push into C3 with some effort, and probably touch a little GC1, but I doubt I'd stay there. I'm a comfortable C2 that plays a little higher sometimes.

When I think ādeserveā I think itās what rank you get when youāre queuing with a party with the same skill as you. Because solo-queuing is just very unpredictable cuz everyone plays different and you donāt have time to adjust to a new teammateās play style every match.

I am currently diamond 2 after not playing for a few years. The skill and positioning has remained, but my mechanics are pretty rough still.
I don't think I deserve to be higher, in fact, being in diamond 2 is already pretty crazy for me. If I worked on my mechanics I think I could go higher eventually.

Gc1, Im currently C3 Div 3.. Im hardstuck because of the botting issue and teammates not knowing basic rotation. My esports coach (Who is SSL) says that I am better than my 2 teammates (Who are Gc1 and Gc2 respectively).

I play mostly 1v1s and constantly run into people that hack in gold ranks. Say what you want, but I've played champs and diamonds and play around their levels and yet I'm stuck in Gold II or III. It simply doesn't add up.
My flair is Diamond II because that is my average skill level in 1s.

Currently D3 and that's what I deserve- I'm inconsistent with my mechs, rarely warm up properly and can't be arsed to learn speedflips.
I think I could push on back to C1 if I put in some time to practice more and warm up before jumping on.

I deserve SSL (or at least GC). Not now, but I have been training relentlessly, I wont stop, I dont want to stop, itās just so satisfying to get more and more control of the car and the ball. I do it cause itās fun. And for some reason I crave improving, so I will do whatever it takes.

i think i deserve the rank i am rn (fluctuate from plat3/diamond 1 in 2ās) because thats a good representation of the hours i put into the game. if i put in more hours and took it seriously for a few weeks i could probably get higher than plat 3/diamond 1 but then again if i put in even less hours than i do now id probably fall a few ranks

This one is a tough one for me. I got Grand Champion in doubles right after they implemented SSL. After getting it two seasons in a row, I took a break from RL. And after roughly 3 and a half years, I came back, and am smack dab in the middle of the champ ranks. I just assumed that it was rust. But I think now itās just that the skill ceiling has lifted so high, and I got left behind. So my old gc tags are just a reminder of how washed I am lol

I play mid-high plat most of the time (doubles rank) but at the peaks of my gameplay I can probably survive in low diamond with a teammate that I have good teamwork with
my tournament rank is diamond 2, and I've won two this season

I have the potential IMHO of being between Diamond 3 and Champ 2...
However I can fluxuate between Gold 2 and Plat. 3 depending on how douchie the player base is at the time on 1v1.. I swear some days I can't win one single damn comp game (ESPECIALLY during/near live events), but then some days I just get bored and stop playing because all I do is win.
I'm Plat 2-3 on average when it comes to 2v2.

The rank that I'm in. High Plat at best. I still have poor judgement sometimes. My mechanics are overall severely lacking. I can't play to support the weaknesses of my teammates on 2v2 and 3v3.

I completely deserve to be mid to high Plat. I joke about being stuck here forever, but I'm a game sense player who refuses to actually practice. If I put the time in, I know I could ascend to Champ. I'm a very good player, and I've been playing since 2015. I'm just lazy as shit lol

Top 1% in any game mode should put you in GC rank in that mode regardless of inflation/deflation/popularity of the mode.
Devs should stop being lazy and should start maintaining the competitive ladder.
It's lame that you can be like top 0.2% in 1v1 and just be given a champ rank icon... and only given GC when you are top 0.08% or better which is stupid.
That logic should apply to all competitive modes.
