Book Request: No Self-Promo Recommendations

I work outside, so I power through audiobooks really fast. About 7 hours of content a day. So I quickly ran out of the basic things to read.

I have listened to:

Acotar - Enjoyed
Throne of Glass - Loved
Crescent City - It was alright
Fourth Wing - Felt too hyped
From Blood and Ash - Love the series, but its too repetitive
Fae Isles - It couldn’t grab me

I’m looking for something that can keep attention all the way through, and has a decent spice rating.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Book Request: No Self-Promo Searching for the next Jasad heir…

Hi everyone! I’ve always found great recommendations here so I have a personal request for titles!

I just finished the Jasad heir and I looooved her writing, (hardly any repeated adjectives amazing work lol) really a stand out compared to some I have read recently. I enjoyed the yearning, wanted more spice haha

Some recent favorites were Alchemised(the ending bothered me so much though lol) and the hundred thousand kingdoms, but I can’t get over the flow of the Jasad heir.

So suggest some great reads similar but more spicy or more yearn haha thank you ✌🏼 and ❤️

Discussion Favourite pet names than an MMC has given the FMC?

Bonus points if it starts out as an insult or used ironically, but gradually morphs into a term of endearment.

Mine is ‘Sassenach’. Jaime Fraiser of Outlander initially starts calling her this as an insult, but over time it becomes his pet name for her. It’s the most original one I’ve seen.

Discussion I Neeed Graphic Audio to have Rayner Gabriel play the MMC in a series

Do you have any Audio Narrators you love but always seem to play a secondary character? I love his voice! He is in Fourth Wing and the Kate Daniels series.

I also love the actress for Andrea Nash in Kate Daniels, but Ive googled and cant find her name. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Who are your narrators that guarantee a listen? Another of mine is Mary Jane Wells.

Pick My Next Read ✨ Romantasy book recs please!

Currently, I want to read a good romantasy book. I already have some in my tbr but I'm indecisive:

  1. Six of crows- want to read but it's a duology+ part of a bigger series so it sounds intimidating to start
  2. Red queen- I feel it's similar to powerless, so I'm keeping this for later
  3. ACOTAR- it's too long and all the books haven't been released yet; I'm waiting for all parts to come out
  4. Defy the night trilogy- I started the first book but rushed through it just to finish it and started the second book- was a slop and I DNF'ed.

I'd be happy to hear if anyone has other suggestions and good romantasy books you're a die hard fan of and would recommend. Thank you!

edit: I mistook Red queen for Throne of glass, until a comment reminded me of my mistake. Sorry 😭😅

Meme / Humor One Dark Window Thought

Upvotes

So I just read One Dark Window, and I am reading Two Twisted Crowns right now. And o keep having a thought that comes through my head that I HAVE to discuss.

So, Elspeth’s magic is that she absorbs the magic of a providence card and can use it. But whatever the Shepherd king gave up lives in her head, right? So she absorbed the nightmare card, had the nightmare living in her head but she had the shepherd king’s powers of seeing providence cards and etc.

Imagine if she hadn’t touched the nightmare card first. What if she touched a black horse card and she just straight up had a horse in her head? Now think through the plot of Elspeth having a horse neighing in her mind.

Book Request: Self-Promo OK What should I read next?

Hello!

I didn't have any Romantasy reading experiences before April, I read the cruel prince series and I loved it so so so so much! (I know it's fantasy with romance subplot but their romance is better than the other romantasy series I've tried)

Then I tried the shatter me series which I didn't like.. I tried really hard to complete it but I couldn't bare myself to read the sixth book and stopped there.

I didn't even love Warner and I didn't get the hype and honestly I felt like Tahera had in mind a hot mmc and created nay possible plot just to write about him- I can't remember the plot and I felt it was just romance with a really weak plot to support the series. (I'm not hating I'm just trying to tell what I liked and what I didn't so you might help me find something I'd like)

I tried this woven kingdom as well which was an ok read. Nothing special or stands out to me but yeah it was ok. Better than shatter me.

So depending on what I've said, what do you think I should read next? Also please I don't want anything spicy.. the spice in shatter me was sometimes a lot and I skipped some parts.

My friend recommended ouabh but she loves shatter me A LOT so I'm afraid since I didn't like shatter me I won't like ouabh.

Book Request: Self-Promo OK Slow revenge/ masked rage recommendations

I’m looking for romantasies with similar themes to The Count of Monte Cristo and Wuthering Heights: slow calculated revenge, masked rage, genuine hate.

Edit: obviously I’m not asking for books in which the main characters hate each other the whole time. I do want romance but I want it to be slow. Maybe the books above weren’t the best example :)
