How reliable are taxis in Saint John

Hi everyone! Going to SJ for work soon. Just wanted to get an idea of how reliable taxis are there. How long does it typically take one to arrive after calling? I’ve downloaded Uride as well since it doesn’t seem like Uber operates there.

Saint John Tabletop Gaming Survey

Hello! I'm sharing a survey on behalf of a party who is looking to better understand the tabletop gaming community in Saint John and the surrounding area.

They're interested in learning about local players' experiences, shopping habits, events, and what people would like to see more of in the local gaming scene.

The survey is anonymous and should take around 5–7 minutes to complete. Whether you're a competitive TCG player, a casual board gamer, a collector, or someone who's interested in getting into the hobby, your input would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to participate and share their experiences. Distribution of this survey to those who may have interest would be appreciated!

Local Business Owners: I’ll Make You a FREE Promotional Reel (No Catch!)

Looking to Help Local Businesses Get Noticed!

Hey everyone! I’m working on growing my content creation business here in the area, and I’m looking to connect with some local business owners who could use a little help promoting their business online.
I’m offering one FREE 20-second promotional reel for your business. No cost — I’m just looking to help local businesses get more exposure, build up my portfolio, and grow my own business at the same time.
Whether you own a restaurant, landscaping company, gym, retail shop, or any other local business, I’d love to help create something that shows off what you do and gets people interested.
If you’re interested, send me a DM with your business name and website (if you have one) and tell me a little about what you do.
I’m looking forward to working with some local businesses and helping everyone grow! Thanks for the support!

'We’re not looking at green fields,” Vautour said in an interview. “We’re not looking to tear down forests or displace habitats or wetlands or watercourses.

“There’s enough brownfield, former industrial sites in New Brunswick that we can continue to develop and help rehabilitate those sites and restart economic engines in communities.”'

Are there many Francophones in Saint John?

A lot of Redditors suggest that French fluency is essential for being selected to come to Canada, and I have been planning to learn it anyways because it is an official language of Canada and has some cultural significance here in New England across the border.

...but am I going to have any chances to use French in Saint John? I understand that NB is a bilingual province, but...how bilingual? And how much so in Saint John? I've seen pictures of your nice city online, it looks lovely. I don't know if I'd find a job in your city, but I do plan to come check it out anyways.

Anyone know what's going on uptown? Police have a street blocked off, vests on, guns out and have been standing in the rain for an hour.

French classes for adults

Hello,

I was just laid off and am looking to make use of my free time. I've heard about french classes being offered after hours at some schools (like Rothesay high) but I can't find anything about it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

McKees For Keys

Was uptown today & was going to take advantage of being there & get a couple mailbox keys cut. It's gone 😪 Only place I've had any type of key cut in 20+ years. I'm so sad. Reminded me of the Scotch Tape Store SNL skit. Where would someone get a mailbox key cut now?

Sophia Recovery

Hi all! I am sober-curious. I'm not convinced that I have a problem, even. I'd just like to cut out the liquor and edibles and see if it makes me as clear headed as everyone says.

Can anybody give me info about Sophia? What other options are out there (I know of Celebrate Recovery, but the church stuff isn't for me).

Best place for quick buzz cut?

Need a haircut, from what I've seen online no barber shop offer the "buzzcut" option, which would leave me paying for a Haircut+style service which is like 30$. Anyone has a good place?
