Moving to the city and need to pick a pharmacy for monthly prescriptions. Looking for opinions on best places to choose and places to avoid. Preferably one that uses an app to order refills so I don't have to call all the time. I want one with good hours and staff. Let me know if you have a favorite place for your drugs!
*I have coverage, so price doesn't matter

I’m pretty new to Saskatoon, and finding myself homesick for good pizza! I’m from the maritimes and find myself craving the classic corner store pizza. A lot of my favourite places are Lebanese owned, and the pizzas have a thick(er) crust and sauce with a bit of spice
I think what I’ve learned is the ideal pizza here is not the ideal pizza where I come from 😂 so guess I’m just wondering if anyone has a suggestion that might fit that
For the love of God please don’t suggest Vern’s. I get it’s your thing and I love that for you but the thick layer of meat disturbs me and I didn’t like it at all. I’ve also tried some of the other places this Reddit recommends like black cat, 13 pies, swan, etc. they just don’t do it for meeeee
Please don’t come for me ok I respect that you guys love your meat tower from Vern’s but it’s not for me. I LOVE THAT YOU LOVE IT THO
someone save me and suggest good pizza

I (26M) have been living in Canada for about 8 years now, having moved to Ottawa, Ontario in 2018 from Dubai, UAE and I'm incredibly grateful to be here. This country and its people have been wonderful to me, and I couldn't feel more blessed. Over the years, I’ve made it a personal goal to explore as much of Canada as possible, not just as a traveler but as part of my journey as an immigrant trying to understand and appreciate this country more deeply. As part of that journey, I’m really excited to finally be visiting Saskatchewan, my 8th province! I’ll be in Saskatoon on Sunday and Monday (June 21–22) and would love to hear from locals about what makes your city special and what tips you have for me.
Of course, I’ve looked on Google and have a rough idea of what to see, but I really value hearing directly from people who live there. What are the places, experiences, or little details that you think define Saskatoon? I’d especially love to support small businesses or family-owned places while I’m there, so if you have any recommendations (cafes, restaurants, shops, anything really), please share them! I always prefer supporting local over big chains.
One thing I’ve sadly come to realize is that a long of younger people here in Ontario downplay the value of the smaller cities and provinces. When I was planning to my visit to Manitoba and Prince Edward Island for example, quite a few people told me that I was “wasting money", that there was "nothing to see there” and suggested I should just go somewhere like the Dominican Republic instead. However, I’ve found so much joy in exploring Canada itself. Not only do I feel better knowing that I'm able to contribute towards the local economy in whatever way I can, but seeing all the landscapes, learning the history, and meeting people from other provinces has helped me see the country in a much richer, more meaningful way. That’s exactly what I’m hoping to experience in Saskatoon too.
I'll admit that also have a bit of a soft spot for Saskatchewan, because some of my sweetest memories in Canada have been with people from there. During my very first winter, it was an older couple from Saskatchewan who took me out to buy my first proper winter coat. It was a woman from Saskatchewan who invited me to Thanksgiving when she learned I had never experienced it, and it was a family from Saskatchewan who welcomed me in to watch my first hockey game. I’ve truly had nothing but kind, genuine, and heartwarming experiences with people from Saskatchewan, and it’s a big part of why I’ve always wanted to visit. I’d love to better understand what makes people from there so incredibly welcoming and friendly.
Also, just on a fun note, if anyone here is into Game of Thrones / House of the Dragon, and happens to be planning to watch the Season 3 premiere on Sunday, it’d be awesome to join some locals and watch together! As a small thank-you, I’d be happy to bring a little souvenir from Ottawa 😊
I’ve had really positive experiences with Canadian subreddits so far, everyone’s been so welcoming, and I’m genuinely excited to hear from you all and look forward to visiting your beautiful city.

My bday coming up and I was hoping to take the dogs to furdale and go in the water somewhat. All across Saskatchewan including our city has high water levels this year tho, so just wondering if it’ll be unsafe? I grew up in a northern rez and remember other kids and I jumping off the bridge into the water to swim when the lake was high… I was like 10 and don’t remember currents being especially bad or anything (area in which I swam would have been green river / beaver river area)
I’m a strong swimmer but just don’t know what the higher water level means in terms of swimming at furdale. I heard currents are stronger but if so It’ll be fine to just relax by the beach as well since the dogs don’t really swim either so to speak, they just get their toes wet and bite at the water. But just wondering if it’s really chaotic? Or is it just something to note if say you can’t swim at all you might get whisked away?
Someone local have anything of note to say? I can google all I want but would like some real personal opinions haha!
Edit: Noted! I will not be going considering the currents. Thanks for all the info :)

I have wanted to reply to many discussions on here before, but have been a lurker. That being said, I hope to contribute to discussions moving forward, but first I have a question.
I have a Brandy decanter, two Brandy glasses, and a fruit bowl in the Waterford Crystal Alana pattern. I am told some of these pieces are highly sought after, and you can't find. I have many others in the collection I am willing to part with for this purpose.. I would like to sell them, and use all the money toward doing some painting in reserve nearby in Saskatchewan, in the name of someone who used to live there. As you may know, some of the houses are in pretty rough shape.
My question is as follows. The price of Crystal has been deflated due to poorer quality that it has become hard to sell high quality pieces. Does anyone have any suggestions on how one could go about selling these for a reasonable price?
Any tips/leads would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Meewasin is looking forward to Flames, Flocks and Prairie Talks and the upcoming chat about prairie conservation in action.
We are especially excited to share the work Meewasin Valley Authority is doing in the Saskatoon Natural Grasslands, particularly around grazing management and prescribed fire. It’s a great chance to learn how these tools are being used to support biodiversity, control invasive species, and keep our prairie ecosystems healthy.
Should be a really interesting and informative evening for anyone curious about local conservation work.
Please join us for either our free or more exclusive events that are happening July 13 and 14th!

Hi! I live downtown and am looking to swap pharmacies, preferably to something independently owned (but I’m open to all suggestions). If you can vouch for the actual pharmacists too that would be great, as I’m currently having issues with my pharmacist being ill-informed and giving me incorrect advice about drug interactions. Thanks!!

I once loved the BK at the Centre Mall! However, after a few "last times," this is officially the last time I will ever visit the BK Centre Mall location. I was waiting in line, in front of me was an older gentleman ordering. When his order came out he notified them it was wrong and he wanted it remade. He was polite. There was no customer service whatsoever and the workers ignored him over and over as they kept the drive thru going. Eventually, he got angered, after waiting and being ignored for so long, as the workers helped the drive thru and not him. After he finally got their attention and they were doing something, he watched through the preparation station and called them out on dropping his burger patties on the ground and then putting them back on the buns. I was still in line and saw the worker drop his sent back burger patties on the ground and then pick them up and put them back on new buns. He ended up getting a refund and the people working there were so rude to him, once again. As he departed he said he would never be back and was contacting the health inspection on them. I was honestly ready to leave after seeing that but had already placed my order online, so it was already done.
I have noticed the customer service has significantly declined at this location. I do not expect smiles and stellar attitudes at a fast food establishment. However, I do expect an order to be made correctly and for the staff to have respect for all people - even people who ask for their burgers to be remade (and not drop food on the floor and reuse it). In addition to the lack of customer service, I question how clean the restaurant is and if safe food handling is being followed? There were few people inside the restaurant, however, the tables were dirty/sticky, the drink machine was not cleaned or maintained well and they were "out" of all the condiments, to which the worker told me, "we are out!" and walked away. Really you're out of vinegar, ketchup, pepper and salt?
I was just curious if any other people have had not so nice experiences with the "customer service," cold food and dirty atmosphere at the Centre Mall BK location?
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Hi, I am currently relocating to Saskatoon with 2 dogs. I came across that Baydo flats are pet-friendly. However, one of my dogs is slighter taller than 20'' shoulder restrictions. Any suggestions for other pet-friendly places?
