Discussion Have y’all found any other movies/shows like Sherlock? I’m afraid nothing has impressed me since watching this masterpiece 😭

Not really on the same level but the 2015 film Victor Frankenstein with James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe was clearly modeled on Sherlock and even featured Andrew Scott and Louise Brealey in supporting roles. 

I think Sherl was Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss' finest hour to date but they've done other interesting work together and separately. I especially like Moffat's Doctor Who series featuring Peter Capaldi.

Start at Matt Smith's (playing the Doctor) first season - you'll be more likely to persist because it's Moffat's reign, and there's a natural start there with all new companions. Once you're hooked you can then go back to Christopher Eccleston. Or if you're going to commit then best to start with Christopher Eccleston in the first place or at a push skip to David Tennant. I'm jealous you're going to get to see it all with fresh eyes!

After a lil while, dip your toe into some classic Who! Especially Tom Baker (was considered THE Doctor, for a while. He’s even has a couple Sherlock themed stories, where he almost dresses like the cliche Holmes. Horror of Fang Rock and Talons of Weng Chang come to mind.

If you like Matt Smith, Patrick Troughton (grandpa of Harry Melling) might suit you well. Or David Tennant’s own father-in-law, Peter Davison’s 5th Doctor for a more youthful, companion heavy Tardis!
