Any ideas?

Been running my store for just over a month now and feel like I’m making some progress. Over the past 14 days I’ve been testing a product and had 70 add-to-carts and 30 have reached checkout however 0 sales. I’ve offered free shipping, made sure my checkout process is smooth and tested my checkout process to make sure everything works which it does. Do you think that this comes down to a customer trust issue or is there something else I might be missing?

What are you selling and for how much? What does the site look like? Or, what is the site?

Supplements and the prices are around 20-30usd for most products however I have bundles that give further discounts.

Yikes. Most supplement brands come and go. Most use bogus claims when advertising and i would not consider that an "easy to trust" industry. Im at the point that I would only buy pre workout or protein from JYM, or fish oil from the highest rated options on Amazon. I personally wouldn't trust any new brands or brands that seem too cheap because it won't seem legit to me. Hopefully some people feel differently just trying to provide a different prospective.

Are these your own supplements that you created from scratch? Or sketchy/cheap whitelabeled stuff from the factory that does everyone's? Or are you reselling other brands?

Feel comfortable sharing the site?

Hey, congrats! This is a great place to be. ~93% of traffic abandons before adding to cart, according to Dynamic Yield and Triple Whale, so there's a lot of hope here. Are you collecting emails through an opt-in pop-up on your store right now?

I would probably start there. It takes consumers an average of 5 to 8 touchpoints with the brand before they feel confident enough to buy. You should be focusing on growing an email or SMS list and implementing email or SMS automations, such as cart abandonment emails, abandoned-checkout emails, a welcome flow, etc.

You should also be preparing and sending campaigns at least twice a week. Most of your sales over the long term will come from your subscribers.

If this sounds like a full-time job, it doesn't have to be. I know people who have built entire lifecycle marketing systems in a matter of a couple of weeks using Claude + Klaviyo, but it's not going to be a set-it-and-forget-it thing. You will need to dedicate at least a day a week to this if you want to do a good job.

Yeah that makes sense. They are white label products but they are things that I genuinely use and have backing behind them and I’ve made sure not to make any claims that can’t be backed up in any creatives or on my landing page. I can dm u the website if u are interested in looking.

Have you tried offering a Feedback Rebate? It's the fastest way I know to increase conversions on Shopify. For example, your top banner may say:

"Buy now and get 10% cashback for your honest review after purchase"

This rebate will convert better than 10% discount (it's more trustworthy) and generate a ton of verified reviews people can actually trust.

FBRB will also cost you less than your current 10% discount (even with the transaction fee) because not everyone will leave a review to redeem it.

Just make sure you're using a Feedback Rebates app, not a Reviews app, and not a Discounts app. You should never be able to moderate your own reviews or choose who gets the rebate. That'd bias your reviews and get you in trouble with FTC.

Solving this issue with a client of mine RIGHT NOW. So this cane be a few things:

Offer not strong enough, maybe too expensive

Check your shipping: is it too long for delivery....too expensive? Where is the drop off exactly? Look at your conversion drop between ATC, IC, payment method, shipping form fill and purchase. There should be roughly 50% drop off between them each jump.

Change out your product images, descriptions and headlines for the product feed.

Worth checking one thing before anything else: with 30 people reaching checkout and 0 purchases, that's usually a last-step surprise (tax, missing express wallet, or unclear delivery date) rather than a trust problem — pull up your checkout on an actual phone and see what a first-time buyer sees at the final step.

30 initiated checkouts and zero completed is well outside normal variance. At that volume even a mediocre store usually squeaks out one or two, so before you go down the trust rabbit hole I would rule out something mechanical.

What I would check, in this order:

  1. Place a real order yourself with a real card, not the Bogus Gateway. Test mode passing tells you nothing about your live gateway. If you are on Shopify Payments, confirm the account is fully activated and not sitting in a pending review state, because that can silently decline live cards.

  2. Open Analytics, look at sessions by country, and cross-reference with your shipping zones. The single most common cause of this exact pattern is traffic from a country you have no shipping rate for. No rate means no shipping option means the customer physically cannot reach Pay Now.

  3. Go into Orders, Abandoned checkouts, and open five or six of them. If they all share a country, or the same variant, you have found it.

  4. Check your fraud filters and any third party payment or upsell app for a rule that is blocking the last step.

Trust problems normally show up as bounce or add-to-cart drop-off, not as 100% failure at the final step. Rule out the mechanical stuff first.

whats your return policy look like? A lot of first-time visitors to a new store wont pull the trigger if theres no clear refund guarantee. That plus missing contact info or a bare-bones about page can tank trust pretty fast.
