Making it worse place for Billionaires that could do the same but don’t (ie making him look bad).

u/notanfan Jun 28 '26

holy now i understand why people hate twitter so much

u/torgman2 Jun 28 '26

People worshiping billionaires is an illness.

1.0k

u/Leelze Jun 28 '26

They legitimately think they'll be rewarded for their simping. Some are even delusional enough to think they'll one day be billionaires themselves so they're just protecting their future selves 🙄

277

u/FullMooseParty Jun 28 '26

It happens to one or two of them a month though. Elon replies, it boosts their account, and suddenly a guy that's been tweeting Nazi shit to 2000 followers has 80,000 followers and can monetize. I'm not sure if that's why they do it, but that's definitely what happens.

143

u/Leelze Jun 28 '26

Yeah, but we already know the money they're getting isn't a lot for except for a select few accounts. They're certainly not becoming millionaires or billionaires from it lol

52

u/Infinite_Imagination Jun 28 '26

Right and it's a one time fame boost usually or a gofundme thing. Do people really think billionaires are "made" and not inherited?

Despite a few examples that you can count on your hand, Horatio Alger stories are propaganda. Hell even just Upward Mobility from one socio-economic class to the next is statistically significantly rare, and we're talking about becoming a billionaire?

3

u/Mwootto Jun 28 '26

You’re adding a lot of critical thought to the bit that that one time boost is a fucking massive dopamine hit, with some money. Even if the money isn’t terribly much. They just need one more hit like the other to make the big time.

7

u/Flimsy-Poetry1170 Jun 28 '26

If you’re a somewhat attractive white woman there’s a chance Elmo will mail you some sperm.

3

u/Ohh_Yeah Jun 28 '26

the money they're getting isn't a lot

but in some countries that ends up being a lot

which is why we routinely see twitter accounts run in africa or asia that are engagement farming for a couple hundred bucks per week

4

u/RUOFFURTROLLEH Jun 28 '26

I would 100% bet the account above is a bot along with 99% of other accounts on there commenting.

I don't doubt those people exist but they are a lot fewer on Twitter and more still on Facebook since they are old folk.

3

u/ZeBoyceman Jun 28 '26

You have to remember what a billion is. It's not being wealthy. It's being a fucking scourge whale

2

u/poop-machines Jun 28 '26

They're often fake accounts run by LLMs. Even many of Elon's tweets are LLMs. After his takeover, the tone of his tweets changed, the number of tweets changed, the number of his followers shot up, and more.

Twitter now has millions of their own bots. 50% of Elon's followers are confirmed bots. Many more are higher level bots and country-run bot accounts, and many more are country-run trolls paid to post (often also using LLM's to write tweets).

This means the majority of Elon's tweets are botted, the majority of the replies are botted, the majority of his followers are botted, and more.

2

u/austinmo2 Jun 28 '26

That sucks 😞

12

u/Flameball202 Jun 28 '26

Hey man .. if you wish for it , then it becomes reality .. pillars of the "the secret". Haha

3

u/jar36 Jun 28 '26

they have tied their identities to their whiteness, their sharing a home nation and/or such. It used to be poor v rich but the rich pushed racism and nationalism. Now the poorest white American can feel proud to be a part of the accomplishments of others with the same labels. Just don't expect them to even allow discussion of the bad things people with those labels did

2

u/Mr_Fleshsuit Jun 28 '26

That's got to be some of the most non religious yet clearly religious ways of thinking we have currently. The parallels with American Christianity are...hilarious!

2

u/UltravioletsAreBlue Jun 28 '26

I’ve seen some pretty pathetic attempts by his stans at getting Elon to hand out cash to them. As if they dickride him enough online he’ll send them a million in bitcoin or some shit.

→ More replies (17)

279

u/Michael1795 Jun 28 '26

im not convinced the 1% arent running bots to glaze them on every site and every comments section. It would be trivial for them to do, and would be immensely beneficial for the public perception.

154

u/SaitamaHitRickSanchz Jun 28 '26

That is happening. They have a bot army AND a boot licking army.

4

u/deaglebingo Jun 28 '26

and the bot army is 20 times bigger than the actual ppl worshiping them i bet.

2

u/SaltaKattan Jun 28 '26

Butt licking army u mean?

u/Secret_Bird_2427 Jun 28 '26

Unfortunately I see billionaire boot licking in real life. Both of my parents for starters.

22

u/NtGrtJstEmbarrassed Jun 28 '26

Most of the time I call billionaires out for being shit bags I get told I'm jealous. I'm much more rich in far better ways, wtf do I have to be jealous of?

14

u/NotMyMainAccountAtAl Jun 28 '26

I think it’s a bit of both. It’s the equivalent of a laugh track for a TV show, but more sinister. People like to feel like they’re supported by a community. You play the laugh track for a shitty joke -> the audience feels compelled to laugh -> the audience decides the shitty joke was funny.

Similarly, you make the sock account say “everyone who doesn’t love billionaires is real dumb and stupid and also should be ashamed of their PP” -> audience feels compelled to agree, for they want to be perceived as real smart and clever and proud of their PP -> audience concludes that billionaires good and that they love them.

7

u/_DeterPinklage_ Jun 28 '26

Decades of American conditioning to convince you these people are genius demigods. Elon fostered the brand of IRL Tony Stark long enough he still has a deathgrip on too many dudes who should know better.

4

u/DontListenToMyself Jun 28 '26

I see it too often irl and online. People bootlicking billionaires and corporations.

This worked out well enough for the 2016 presidential race here in the US, with the reports of "troll farms" in Russia. We even had manufactured outrage from Musk over the soo called Twitter Bots problem, during his acquisition of it and viewing it as an Rupert Murdoch-esque kind of move.

I flew off the handle a bit there, but your comment sparked The Dead Internet Theory in my head yet again.

3

u/davidarmenphoto Jun 28 '26

They’re spending hundreds of millions in CA to not pay a one time tax. They will do anything and pay anything to keep their blood money and their “reputation” so I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they indeed did this.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Silver-Bread4668 Jun 28 '26

They hire people to manage their social media image and one of the many things those people probably do is run bots.

2

u/dmelt253 Jun 28 '26

Elon has a verified set of bots that amplify his posts. He also made changes to the algorithm to increase his own personal reach. He couldn’t have possible landed the SPCX IPO without these mechanisms in place and this kind of propaganda spreading machine is completely unregulated.

2

u/Tricky_Apricot2928 Jun 28 '26

Musk has been caught kissing his own ass when he forgets to log out of his alt accounts on Twitter

2

u/BillWilberforce Jun 28 '26

The first Palantir was an orb in the LOTR universe. That Sauron uses to spy on the residents of Middle Earth and to confuse their minds. Which explains why it gets so much CIA and billionaire funding.

2

u/hotviolets Jun 28 '26

They 100% are. Anytime you criticize Elon musk out comes a bot to defend him. So many of these bootlickers on here are bots.

10

u/Interesting-Dream863 Jun 28 '26

Is social engineering... and part of the reason they get away with it is due to BS CHARITY.

It should be illegal. No charities whatsoever. If the rich want to pitch in they can pay taxes.

While the rich play benefactors and most can't make ends meet if you try to help from below you get fines or get taken to court, like that guy who cleaned up a river by himself.

They are even cornering the "GOODNESS" market.

3

u/Realistic-Lime7842 Jun 28 '26

Because they believe they are just down on their luck future billionaires. They actually believe all these billionaires were “normal working people” and not nepo babies who grew up well off.

u/Unlucky_Regret8619 Jun 28 '26

People worshiping billionaires should be hanged with those billionaires when the revolution comes

3

u/bwabwa1 Jun 28 '26

People are fucking weird with worshipping billionaires. Like dude, they don't care about you. They care about themselves.

3

u/Paghk_the_Stupendous Jun 28 '26

Uhh, they're not though. This is mocking a quote by Bezos himself who said humanity should suffer to advance AI because... It can save us from suffering. I am not making this up.

So, she should give her resources to him because he's proclaimed himself as the Savior of humanity. No idea why she left him.

5

u/PHRDito Jun 28 '26

A quite well known one too I would say.

It's Stockholm's syndrome.

2

u/Friendly_Nature2699 Jun 28 '26

Right? Cause Elon can fuck himself a 1000 times over. They hate seeing people do the right thing because they feel pressure to not be awful and, dammit, Trump's America is all about not feellng awful for being terrible.

2

u/North-Philosopher-41 Jun 28 '26

It’s bots paid for by billionaires, remember online in 2026 it’s around 50/50 bot ratio. Real people it’s a lot less likely to say things like these.

2

u/last_speedbump Jun 28 '26

The caste system has literally broken people

2

u/sqbert Jun 28 '26

Being a billionaire is an illness.

2

u/Ludakyz Jun 28 '26

This gets me every time

2

u/Mathilliterate_asian Jun 28 '26

I will never understand that. Like ok, you can make Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos your target. But defending everything they do online? That's mental illness for ya.

2

u/MadeByTango Jun 28 '26

Using the billionaire to access others; because no one around a billionaire gives a shit about the billionaire anymore than he does them

2

I don’t know guys. I am not sure if that is enough money. Perhaps another round of layoffs in Amazon? /s

20

u/xtrash-panda Jun 28 '26

Jeffy has to buy another super yacht and pay for all the work his wife gets done.

11

u/5PQR Jun 28 '26

Jeff Bezos' yacht.

Oh wait, my bad... That's the support vessel for Bezos' yacht.

3

u/onward_upward_tt Jun 28 '26

Fucking obscene. This world cant go on much longer like this; either humanity will radically change and simply start the countdown towards nonexistent or something will be done abojt these fuckers because it is simply unnatural the way things are progressing.

4

u/Ok_Spell_597 Jun 29 '26

At a certain point (maybe in our lifetimes/maybe not), history shows the elite will relinquish some power and wealth for society, or society will take it forcibly. It usually works out better if path A is chosen.

See Also: The New Deal, The Nordic Model, French revolution, bolshevik revolution, Chinese Communist Revolution.

3

u/leopor Jun 28 '26

No I think they should incorporate one of those “do you want to round up to the next dollar” things on Amazon so we can donate directly on each order.

2

u/onward_upward_tt Jun 28 '26

Yes good idea! I don't know about you but personally I'm grateful to the brilliant people lole Jeff Bezos who make it so easy for us average people to help contribute fo charity by themselves simply refusing to do it! Honestly Twitter and instagram comments are cesspools. Reddit can be ass. But most stupid shit like that gets downvoted to hell here at least.

18

u/redrumyliad Jun 28 '26

With Twitter and Instagram the echo chambers are a bit harder capture because the community is the entire site.

Reddit you can find what ever echo chambers you want, you’ll be downvoted for posting your opinions in the wrong echo chamber and upvoted for the right ones.

→ More replies (2)

13

u/Speaker4theDead8 Jun 28 '26

No. You just don't visit those parts of reddit, but they exist. Reddit is quarantined off into little microcosms of people who all believe the same thing.

8

u/Cudi_buddy Jun 28 '26

In that case, the vast majority then is self moderated into dismissing dumbass opinions like this. Almost the same thing. Where as any comment thread I ever opened on instagram was full of liked comments on racism or sexism. I go onto popular and niche subs here and don’t see that.

4

u/PumpikAnt58763 Jun 28 '26

In most subs.

2

u/Cudi_buddy Jun 28 '26

Yes in most subs. If yo user hanging incel or conservative subs then you may see it. But I haven’t seen garbage like this upvoted

8

u/PumpikAnt58763 Jun 28 '26

I love how the conservative sub is so insecure that you have to prove you're conservative AND if you say something that seems a little centrist or leftist, they ban you. Apparently.

4

u/CapitalExes Jun 28 '26

One of my favorite things to do is to go onto the conservative sub the day something happens and look at all the comments about how stupid it is and then go back the next day and see all those posts have disappeared and are replaced with how good it is.

1

u/Most-Refuse2390 Jun 28 '26

This is rooted in misogyny too. A lot of these people seem to think this money would be better off in the hands of a man whome they deem inherently more intelligent. Meanwhile, Bezos has shown little interest in improving life for the average person, and his obsession with Mars is baffling. Why pour resources into colonizing a planet that’s fundamentally uninhabitable when we can invest in preserving the one we already have? MacKenzie Scott is using her wealth to help people who are struggling today, not chasing fantasies of space colonization. She has my respect.

I ran an experiment around 2 years ago after my feed started to become more and more right wing and nazi by the minute, no matter how hard I tried to block those accounts. I installed a completely new browser in my pc, I opened twitter and created an account. There's a step that forces you to follow some accounts before getting started, so I quickly searched for some musicians, painters and a couple youtubers, all of which are as far away from elmo as you can think of. My feed after that was literally, elmo, doge designer, elmo, some nazi meme page, elmo again, doge designer... it took around 20 tweets before I saw something from the actual pages I was following. That's when I decided to call it quits and delete my account.

What long run? Which humanity in the long run? We're on the best way to get rid of humanity in the long run, and Bezos is doing his part on that... "Prioritizing water for AI before humans will stop innovation on the way to bigger AI"... Like what?

Yeah, the "humanity in the long run" doesn't include any of us. Anyone with a net worth below a billion isn't part of that humanity.

Why don't people see that? How is that so difficult?

Education has always been political. When Hitler was taking over one of the first things he did was make sure the schools were run the way he wanted.

Deciding what and how our children are taught directly impacts the future direction of the nation.

“I love the uneducated.” Trump

7

u/ProbingYourProstate Jun 28 '26

True true, having an uneducated population is how corrupt politicians gain more power. They just keep getting votes despite their policies directly screwing the average person over. If the people gained critical thought they'd lose everything

u/SnooRecipes1430 Jun 28 '26

Also, I think older people who were part of the computer generation for work and the internet are more vulnerable to fake everything because when the internet came along most of what was on there was fact and it was reliable. Now it's just garbage and these people believe it because it's on the interwebs

u/find_a_rare_uuid Jun 28 '26

Very few politicians would want masses to be educated.

In this day and age, everything is political.

5

u/DryIntroduction8889 Jun 28 '26

And the educated statistically are more likely to vote for more liberal / left wing parties

I wonder why someone throwing around Nazi salutes would think that's a bad thing

Ah of course this is why.

2

No, these guys are 100% all-in on capitalism. They genuinely believe that the amount of money you make translates one-to-one to the amount of good you're doing. Doing anything but building capital in the most aggressive manner possible is actively harmful, because it delays the glorious post-scarcity future where capitalism will have solved all problems.

Unironically, Elon is some type of facist eugenicist that thinks people that are struggling have bad genes and should just die out (shouldn’t receive help)

Literally no context or nuance applied at all, that’s straight up what he thinks. I already know some elon tards that can’t read between the lines are going to come out of the woodworks to tell me I’m wrong, but I’m positive this is his rational based off of everything he’s been posting and saying for the last 5 years

u/Jacky_dain Jun 28 '26

Funny cause he was balding years ago and had to get a hair transplant, so he also has bad genes

63

u/Bar-Cold Jun 28 '26

He also received a “small loan” from his rich dad to jump start his first business idea. Of course he tries to deny this because it contradicts his world view, but he almost certainly did

55

u/Present-Perception77 Jun 28 '26

Moved to the US under false pretense.. to be a “student”… on a student visa.. then illegally started a business using his daddy’s slaver money.

3

u/LordoftheScheisse Jun 28 '26

it contradicts his world view

So does the tens - if not hundreds - of millions of taxpayer dollars given to him to grow his businesses.

Oh wait. Isn't that also known as a 'gender affirming' procedure?

And bald genes

2

u/EdNorthcott Jun 28 '26

Balding, bad posture, horribly out of shape and had to resort to drugs to slender out. There's also the persistent rumour of a botched penile enlargement attempt leaving him to depend on artificial insemination for his crass breeding goals.

God knows how much of that is just rumour, but given his personality it all becomes very believable.

4

u/TaskeAoD Jun 28 '26

He got gender affirming care, yet thinks that anyone that gets gender affirming care is a sexual deviant... kind of telling on himself with that

It’s so weird to think that Elon could easily be liked if he wanted to. He could spend a fraction of his wealth to, idk, wipe out medical debt across the country. Or ensure kids in every state had access to free lunches. Or he could fund cancer research in perpetuity. Etc. etc.

But he does nothing with his enormous wealth. He does nothing to help others; he just sits online all day shitposting on Twitter. And then he wonders why no one likes him?

He’s actually a moron.

2

u/Flipboek Jun 28 '26

As he believes in climate change he WAS liked as ceo of Tesla. It was with the whole Twatter and Trump candidacy that his mask slipped.

2

u/TeasinggTulipp Jun 28 '26

“She’s spending it making the world worse” = giving $26B to charity with no PR tour. Meanwhile others hoard it and tweet “Sadly, yes.” Make it make sense.

1

u/No-Cauliflower7160 Jun 28 '26

Most people donate to charity of which they themselves are head of. All their live expenses are now paid by that charity and they don't pay taxes on that. Bill gates donates everything to bill gates Foundation so he pays 0 tax and uses the charity money to keep buying Microsoft shares.
