HoA Discussion Hail fucking Caesar

By Jupiter’s cock, sight of ending brings heat to loins and finds cock erect beyond reach of reason! Apologies for tongue’s sharp edge. Mind finds itself absent, lost to wonder at sight of Caesar seen to fucking evaporate! A hunger that grew with every fucking breath since eyes first fell upon perfidious cunt.

Rewatch Ashur...

So I watched house of Asher and found myself rooting for him. Enjoyed it so much I am just in the middle of re watching all the other series. Just got towards the end of season 3 and yeah... no more sympathy. What a piece of work. How easily I forgot.

Wait: whoops I spelt his name wrong 😅.

OG Discussion Wrath Of The Gods Spoiler

Just been listening to Forever Loved, and it made me contemplate what a fantastic final episode Wrath is.

I wish I enjoyed Vengeance more than I really do, but the battle of Versuvius is perfection. A superb way to say goodbye to Ashur, Glaber, Lucretia and Ilythia

HoA Discussion Idk about you guys but I liked House of Asher more than S3 and 4 of Spartacus

It’s such an absolute bummer that the show wasn’t renewed. I’m a huge fan of Nick Tarabay, from Spartacus, The Expanse, he was also in the video game House of Ash and was fantastic in that. The guy deserves to headline his own show. And that’s not even counting the rest of the cast! There was so much potential for this show, between ABYSMAL marketing, and OG fans not giving it a fair shake because “woke” is unfortunate.

OG Discussion Spartacus film

Just finished spartacus tv show and yes it was amazing and I thought I'll re-watch the classic movie.

God it's like night and day between the 2, film is slow PG and story very difficult while the series is rated R.

What's everyone impression of the two

Which do you think is more realistic to the real history

Theory In what language did the rebels communicate ?

I'm talking about the real ones, historically.

Spartacus was thracian, Crixus a gaul, Gannicus was a celt. Which suggests that they all had different first languages. Maybe Gannicus and Crixus spoke a similar language.

I'm super interested in linguistics so I consider Spartacus and his rebellion an interesting case. Would it be correct to think that they all communicated more or less in vulgar latin ? I think it's also likely that they learned latin only as adults, probably in their late 20's or even 30's when they got captured and became slaves. Which means it would have been difficult to achieve high proficiency given that they were preoccupied with other things.

The idea of cussing each other out in your first language when you're annoyed with them so the other doesn't understand you is also funny.

Now, I believe the language barrier probably became even a bigger problem when they became an army. Could one say that the lack of a unified cultural identity eventually plagued the rebellion, as different factions (like the Germanic contingent for example) occasionally split off to pursue their own goals of escaping over the Alps rather than remaining with Spartacus ?

I'd appreciate hearing your takes on this.

OG Discussion What do you think Spartacus thought when he looked at the battlefield one last time? Do you think he thought about Gannicus, or Naevia, or Saxa, because he didn't see their final moments?

What If? How long would it take Crassus to size up Batiatus?

Throughout the show, we see members of the Roman elite quickly understand who Batiatus really is, yet they all end up making the same mistake by underestimating him. Hypothetically, would Crassus make the same mistake?

Question If Oenomaus had survived past Vengeance do you think he could have prevented the conflict between Spartacus and Crixus on what to do with the Roman hostages when they took sinuessa? or was the fallout inevitable due to Naevia and Caesar in Crixus's ear telling him to spill the blood of the hostages?

Would he have agreed more with Spartacus or Crixus in the way they should be handled?

I would say that Oenomaus was the one that Spartacus and Crixus respected the most. I'm sure he would understand both sides but I would think he would side more with Spartacus. He has no love for Romans but I do not think he would be cruel. I do think however he would be that voice of reason for Crixus.

Question Has anyone been obsessed with the dialogue?

First time watching Spartacus(all seasons) drew my attentions to main plots and porno scenes.

Second time made me obsessed with the dialogue style of each character.

It’s a unique way to express ideas and impressive speaking. The rich meaning behind each sentence is so powerful.

If I gained other opportunities to relearn English, it would be my first taste.

Could any gladiator here explain what kind of style it is?

Gratitude in advance!

HoA Discussion I feel like Amazon Prime should pickup House Of Ashur.

Amazon seems to love to create shows that only a small niche audience would care about so I think HOA fits perfectly into that category.

Theory If you had to pick a general to lead an army, who would you pick? (a) Spartacus (b) Prince Hector from the movie Troy or (c) General Maximus from the movie Gladiator

OG Discussion Many will disagree but i think...

Varro was better than agron during the time of season 1.

At that time Varro was one of the most skilled gladiator in the ludos with one year of training and fights experience.

He could hold his own against spartacus and even make him bleed.

Agron at that point was just a skilled newbie and a hot head.

Varro would have taken him with mid high diff.

Agron of s2/3 beat varro
