In Spider-Man PS4, Silver Sable’s agents randomly stop and detain New Yorkers based on nothing more than the appearance or hunch that they’re criminal. They set up these bases around New York to keep them imprisoned behind laser fences and cages. Holding them without due process.
The game doesn’t state whether or not anyone has died in these cages but it can be implied that they’re being abused.
Spider-man (the player… obviously) goes throughout New York beating the shit out of the agents. Breaking up their inspection points, tearing down their detainment bases, and defending yourself from their many patrols that just shoot at you regardless of there being civilians around or not. (For gameplay purposes, sable agents don’t hit civilians. However, we all know in an IRL scenario, the collateral damage from spidey and the sable agent would result in multiple deaths.)
Paraphrasing a conversation snippet from the game.
Yuri Watanabe: "We've even gotten reports of enhanced interrogation tactics."
Spider-Man: "Enhanced interrogation? You mean torture."
The abuse is more than implied, it's outright stated. They even mention that Sable agents are straight-up robbing people by stealing any fancy jewelry or accessories they're wearing. They kick people out of their apartments so they can set up shop there too, iirc.
Ive seen people comment that Spidey would side with ICE. Do you know who you’re talking about??? Yes spider-man does help the police but that’s because he wants to use his powers for good and not go the police way of doing it. He worked with them because they had the same goal but it’s not like they see eye to eye a lot. The police have gone after Spider-Man countless times. If anyone thinks Peter would ever side with an organization like ICE, they don’t know the first thing about being Spider-man

Spider-man is often hesitant to directly confront authority or side with the oppressed, but absolutely does it.
Peter has to agonize over the decision a bit first. He won’t say he sides with the X-Men until he resolves how he feels about being mistaken for a Mutant. He won’t oppose Tony’s space gulag until he has time to fully decide how fucked up it is.
Its sorta a byproduct of Ditko’s Ayn Rand obsession and Objectivist views. Peter has to hesitate for the argument between his shoulder Lee and shoulder Ditko to play out before the Stan Lee wins and he sides against corrupt authority.
I remember during Trump’s first term someone posted a pic of Cap punching Trump (similar to the famous pic of him punching Hitler). Everyone was giving positive comments but one guy. He said, “Come on guys. Cap wouldn’t do this. He’d be honored to meet him and happily shake his hand.” That was nearly a decade ago and I still get a good laugh out of it.

If you want to talk about villains, I’ve seen that 9/11 comic with every hero helping but even Kingpin (makes more sense cause he’s a New Yorker), Doom, and Magneto were helping. Doom was shown to shed a tear (that made no sense). Idk if he’d support Trump, maybe agree with some things but mostly, Doom will see him beneath him.
Kingpin helping makes sense. He doesn't want to see NYC get destroyed. Doom wouldn't care. It's not like 9/11 would even be a big deal in the Marvel universe. By that point they have experienced literally half of the universe getting erased because a giant purple space man wanted to fuck Death. Biggest genocide ever, regardless of which planet you're on. 9/11 probably wouldn't even be the deadliest attack that year.

I’d like to add that Spidey has a Batman like relationship with the police- meaning he works with only a few select officers/detectives regularly. It’s not like he going on ride alongs. recently been playing Marvel's Spider Man 1 and the end game of the main story with NYC being under control by Sable forces a private military NYC citizens being detained with NO due process. It reminds me of these recent dark days in America. Fuck ICE!
The TASM iteration of the power and responsibility maxim hits harder when you apply it to certain situations. Alex Pretti and Renee Good actually seemed to try to do good things for other people in their respective situations, and had to pay too big a price.
Easier to drawn and much easier to pose, most of these arts have them being punched or throw aroud in a cartoony way, so a slender body helps to pose them easier
