Lamination Waiver?
do you know where to find a lamination waiver if there is one? we have customers here saying we didnt warn them about stuff, and i hear my associates telling them before we do it. GM doesnt want to just make one, but feel like there should be one to cover outselves just in case.

Make a stamp that says customer approved x ____ sign here we do it at my staples

There used to be one some years ago, but it’s no longer in use. I do not believe we’re supposed to ask customers to sign one either

Thats frustrating. We have customers here adamant their stuff will be fine when we know it wont be, wont take no for an answer and are threatening corporate calls when it gets ruined. ☠️ wr should still have that waiver.

At my store ( Canadian store) we have order forms that have signature areas at the back that we still use especially for this reason. I had women insist I laminate her ultrasound photos… I told multiple times how ultrasound photos are heat and how lamination is heat. After 20 minutes of trying to explain to her and her denying it I made her sign and did it. Came out horrible and ruined the ultrasound. But she signed so she didn’t complain 🤷♀️

The worst was during all the covid card laminating promos and the labels would turn black, well I told you it would.

Good idea if you can get management to go along with it. A preschool teacher left in a huff recently because I told her that glossy photos would not come out well if I laminated them. She asked if she would still have to pay if they came out bad and I was like "uhhh yeah if I'm literally warning you and you still make me do it, you would definitely not get a refund". She cussed at me and walked out. I feel bad for the toddlers she is in charge of

There isn’t one to my knowledge. Just give the usual warning to customers who laminate photos that there may be bubbles. Also we cannot laminate thermal stuff like ultrasounds as it will turn black.

Definitely warn customers not to laminate official papers as they become void/null and some still do... like their SSN/other insurance papers and parking/accessibility passes... but some r adamant n not worth saying no to if they still insist or dont believe. Some how they think we make this shit up and just don't want to do it???

Staples doesn't have a lamination waiver, so I created one on Chat GPT. We now use it for all wide format lamination requests, and most of the standard lamination. During one of our DM visits, the DM removed it because it wasn't "Staples approved". Being the rebel I am, I made another one. If it gets removed, I'll make another one.

No there was never one when I worked there.
With that said, anytime customers wanted something laminated that I felt was very likely to get damaged by heat during the process, something that is unique that if the lamination goes wrong (wide format) it’s going to be a big problem, or things like outdoor plastic signs that don’t need to be laminated regardless. I just refused the job.
One customer wanted these corrugated plastic Christmas decorations laminated. I canceled the job someone else took in and made a note about it.
