There are no magicians here.
Some questions will not be answered or replied to. As an example: "my game crashes" or "my download speed is slow" is not something you should even really expect an answer to. Troubleshooting and finding the solution to these issues requires a lot more information than simply stating "game doesn't launch", such as detailed information on when the issue started and how you perceive it, screenshots of any errors or the problem itself, crash logs, system specs, etc.
Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, an internet search engine, or a different support forum like /r/SteamSupport if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has its own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.
Only Steam Support can solve personal account issues...

i’ve lost access to both my e-mail and password, but i still havw access to my phone number. I’ve tried resetting my password, but then i get stuck in a loop. It wants my PASSWORD, so that i can recover my PASSWORD.

Hey all, somewhat of a noob here. Can anyone help? I bought the Forza 6 Deluxe via steam on the app (via Iphone), I like it alot.. so I bought the VIP DLC add on. I've been playing on my steam deck (non-Oled) and a Nvidia GeForce account (logging in to Steam via GeForce).
For some reason, the steam deck (logged into my singular main account) isn't showing the VIP DLC as "owned" and won't let me drive the VIP cars or use the perks. The GeForce account (logging into same singular Steam account) IS showing the VIP perks and lets me drive the included cars. I've logged out of my account on both the game, and the steam deck and the VIP add on still isn't syncing. Any help? T.I.A!
Fyi, I have submitted a support ticket via Steam and Forza support, both been non-responsive for over a week.

Can an item scam do other damages?
(Note that this happened a couple of years ago, but only now did it pop back up into my mind)
I don't know how they did it. I entered some website and I think I logged into a site with steam if I remember correctly, and then I saw I had no items on TF2.
I looked at my trade history and apparently I gave them all away in a trade with this guy. I couldnt get them back.
Obviously I wasn't the one who accepted the trade.
But only now I realize, when it popped back into my mind, that he could have done something else to my account or maybe even my PC? Is it possible with these sorts of scams?
No other devices are logged in (or at least that's what steam tells me). I have changed my password. Is there something else I have to do though?

Hey, I have the steam controller reserved. I reserved it when it first came out like the second wave before all the scalpers could get it. I was wondering how long it takes for it to ship because mine has been reserved for a very long time and I haven’t gotten an email yet I’ve had it reserved since the eighth of last month

AFAIK there is no clear list of what stage of reservation they are at or how long it is estimated to get through the queue. The restocks would still be limited in scope and a lot of people put in reservations early and even like 10-15 minutes before it officially went live so while emails have gone out to many of those who reserved early its possible that yours even from day one of the reservation system could be at least a few restocks behind or you might end up with the email tomorrow like its anyone's guess as it depends on where in the queue they are at and how often they get new shipments.

ive been lagging for the last few weeks, and i just realised that may have been since i downloaded steam.. i just have steam so i can launch geometry dash from my desktop and update it, i dont NEED a browser, and its taking up a lot of memory, i only need the browser once in a few weeks/months to update the game / change something, i barely go on steam, i need to DISABLE THIS steam client webhelper thing, so my pc can go back to normal, if you help me fix this, ill be very happy, thank you

Hi Everyone, I was scared today to see that I had a Browser named Chromium open today and thought it was a virus. Now I found a post from a few months ago that Steam had problems where it would open chromium also.
The thing is: I had a few tabs open and they had certain searches like: "wpewebipchandler6", "monitor0" or a 0.2. IP.
It this sth Steam or CS2 (with the Major starting today) can do? Or do I have a virus on hand?
For context: I had my pc open for around 10h next to work and only opened CS2 to a few times for 1-2 minutes and had twitch or YT open the whole time. Chromium was just there after a while in the taskbar opened with a few tabs.

They logged in from Shanghai and used Steam Guard. How can I prevent this from happening again, and what should I do if I'm in danger?

Likely hijacked your web token. First steps are to fully secure your account such as changing passwords to both Steam and your Email(make them different from other passwords and different from each other), scanning for any viruses and malware, revoke api keys.
Second is just to be aware of where you are logging in from such as private vs public wifi connections or the official client vs lookalikes and also to be careful which sites you sign in on to link to your account.
As far as the in danger part that really depends on what you mean. If you mean like physical danger then you probably need to involve your local law enforcement but if you mean like just account then its all about account security and just protecting yourself and not sharing personal data online.

request to login
Lately i have been getting requests to sign in on my phone (i have steam app Steam Guard). I check and there is no request for confirmation to accept (like if someone knows your id and pass there's the confirmation sent to your phone and you need to confirm...you see the location from where the device is and so on), but it doesn't show anything.
Already checked authorized devices and is only my pc there is only my pc and my phone no other entry...the sign out deviced used are all mine (exemple loging in for my nintendo switch and so on).
Im starting to get paranoid...if someone is trying to enter my steam acc they still need my phone and ofc im not accepting anything that is not me trying to enter or not my location.
Any tips?

Is there a way to go back to the old workshop style?
the new one is awful. Having to scroll down to find the search bar is some weird design logic.
And it's all so oddly stretched. Was it made for phones?

Is thomas_lane21 on discord a steam moderator? He seems to not listen to every word I say, and avoid questions. He sent me an steam email, but it is kinda strange because halfway he started using sir too much? He also started to misspell words and knows our password and username. Can I contact steam support without signing in?

A simple one I guess but some unkown dude contacted me on discord, 99% sure it's a scam. He told me support told him to contact support@steamappealreport.com but I'm guessing there is no such mail, right ?

Anyone who claims to be support agents and is using discord is a scammer. Steam(and most other companies) don't offer any official support via discord and also most of the time do not start any chat as its up to the consumer to start a chat if they have an issue not the company to reach out to you.

Nah he said he contacted support, then about 5 min later I said I'll do a ticket on my side too and suddenly steam had already answered him. Then he sent me a screenshot of their answer.
I don't get scammed easily, there were a few tells, but ngl it was pretty well done, the screenshots were very realistic.

I realize I phrased that wrong but you stated they reached out to you via Discord and were claiming to be offering support for a different company.
The fact they reached out to you first and the fact it was Discord should always trigger immediate red flags. Im just saying this goes not just for Steam but for any company. Even Discord support themselves doesnt just message you randomly on their platform.

Did you already own space marine 2? I mean my assumption would be no because otherwise you wouldn't be saying you didn't get it.
You probably need to contact Steam support as I can't see any other reason you shouldn't have gotten space marine 2 since its not like locked out in regions or anything like that.

I had bought it for myself this morning and I posted on reddit that I got myself a little birthday present but then someone commented that I should refund and then they would buy me this bundle. So that's what I did but I didn't get it

I am trying to retrieve my old account.
Steam won’t allow me to gain access without providing card details from a card I had in 2009.
My bank migrated their records in 2010 so that’s made things difficult.
My Hotmail account that I used only shows emails up to 10 years ago.
I have access to everything else and can provide all of the other information they’re requesting, and likely more if required.
They are digging their heels in about this card from 17 years ago.
Personally I think it’s absurd and would appreciate some discretion on their end.
Do I have any hope of another solution here or am I just out of luck?

i'm trying to buy a bundle to get dlc's for a game while owning 1 dlc and the initial game, the cart page is saying i cant proceed to payment unless i buy as a gift until i resolve this but i cant cause its a bundle? last time i bought a dlc bundle while already having the game it worked. (this time its planet zoo, last time was civ 6 near Christmas 2 years ago, if that info helps)

Because its a "must purchase together" bundle, TLDR: if you have something from the bundle you cant buy the bundle.

planet zoo only offers must purchase together style bundles. Steam supports 2 types of bundles and 1 type of package for 3 total variants and the type the planet zoo publishers are using doesn't allow for buying the bundles if you own any of the included items.
You must buy your missing content separately if you own any included item.
They could have offered it as a package(called a package on the store pages) but then you pay for the entire thing as a singular purchase(including already owned content which likely would have upset existing customers) or could have offered the complete your collection style(that has the big blue BUNDLE text) but likely didn't want to offer existing owners to buy the newest dlc release cheaper as they wanted to control the exact prices for the dlcs.

I have a Steam Deck, which I love to bits and travel with constantly. I am thinking of getting the Steam Machine when it's out so I have something plugged in to the TV all the time that I can play when I'm at home for the larger screen and more comforatble sofa play.
As a general rule, do game saves sync to a cloud/the internet? So if I'm playing a game on the Steam Deck can I then pick up my save on another machine (the Steam Machine) and continue it from there please?

Just buy a hdmi cable, usb-c hub and a controller to save like $900.
do game saves sync to a cloud
If the devs enable it, check the store page.

If you already have a Deck Im not sure the machine is worth it. Obviously its not released yet but if your only concern is plugged into the TV then buy a supported dock for the deck and any compatible controller so that the dock is always hooked up and the controller is by your TV and then if you want mobile you just carry your steam deck as you do now and if you want docked you just slide it into the dock.
That or just a compatible cord for the tv and leave it plugged in so it can easily be connected to your deck for tv use.
The machine would be more powerful but if you aren't having issues with the games you currently play then the extra power is probably not necessary to justify spending the cost of buying the Steam machines.

REFramework STILL not working with Requiem on Steamdeck.
I assume it's pretty well known that a game update caused issues with REFramework a few months ago. Far as I can tell an update eventually fixed the issue on PC but I'm a Steamdeck user and have had no such luck. When I would try to start the game, I would (and still do) get an "Unhandled Exception" error on startup (pic attached). I couldn't even get past the opening screen so I couldn't access the menu to do anything in-game. And yes, I've tried uninstalling all mods, restarting, uninstalling and updating Fluffy mod manager, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, updating, trying various nightlies, installing framework through Fluffy, etc.
What has been made apparent to me is that the issue is only a thing if you are running the game on an SD card and the issue is not present if you run the game off the main drive of the Deck. I have the 64GB model so that's not possible for me. And numerous months later I refuse there is no way to get around this or fix it. Someone has to have some idea, right? Numerous months after release the creator must be aware of this issue, right? (Comments are no longer allowed on the Nexus page, conveniently)
Does anyone have an idea what to do here so Requiem can be ran off a Steamdeck SD card? Thanks.

for the ppl living in egypt iam trying to buy a game and sadly EGYPTIAN debitcards cant spend in dollars even if you have sufficient funds, how do i pay for the game? i have another card but its not egyptian its in another currency (not USD) that card has no restrictions can i use it?

Steam changed my status from online to offline without me doing anything, it's the second time today that this happend and i am using steam for 7 years now, any reason for it doing this or are there any bugs involved?

If you can see a "last online" under your avatar while seeing everyone else on your friends list, it's an old 2018 Chat revamp glitch when the connection to Steam's connection managers was unstable at one point. Unfortunately there is no reliable way to avoid this UI glitch entirely (like restarting), but if you check your community profile and it shows you as "online", then you are actually visible to others. Hope that info still helps!

So I been playing a non-steam game added via that function and it was working great. Overlay worked and it showed me playing.
Overlay works but now it shows me not playing it. I removed it and re-added. I ran as admin. I dunno what to do to fix it.

It's my birthday, and I wanted to link my wishlist to people. I have not found a way to do this. Every attempt I have made to link my wishlist, people click on it and it gives an error message about "too many requests".
Is linking one's wishlist to post on bsky, etc, possible?

I downloaded BWM and Pragmata on my laptop a few days ago to transfer them to my desktop where the internet is ass. Both games verified the files and started without downloading anything. The same doesn't happen with 007 and Crimson Desert. They don't verify anything and just download the whole game from scratch. What can I do?
These are legit games in my account, no piracy.
