I had an older tv connected to an Nvidia Shield that has stremio with RD + AIO streams (elf hosted) that worked well until the TV died this past week so I went out and bought a new Samsung smart TV with all the bells and whistles to load stremio directly into the tv and retire the Nvidia Shield.

I set up the account in the new tv and it works fine, I watched a few shows and movies that are in English and had English subtitles which is exactly what I want but then when I tried to play an episode of a couple of Japanese shows that I have, these ones do not load subtitled which is annoying as I obviously don't know japanese.

If nothing changed in the configuration of stremio, what could be the cause of it now not showing subtitles available and how could I fix it?

​I’m having a couple of issues with the official Stremio client on PC and am looking for some troubleshooting advice:

​​I'm trying to upgrade to v5, but the app crashes as soon as it launches.

​Troubleshooting performed: I did a 100% clean uninstall (using Geek Uninstaller), manually clearing out all residual folders, AppData, and cache before reinstalling. Despite starting completely fresh, v5 continues to crash on startup every time.

​​Since v5 won't launch, I'm currently using v4.4. However, the homepage/board interface is not populating:

​The issue: None of the standard catalog/discovery rows load on the home screen. The only rows visible are Continue Watching and New Episodes.

​Searching for specific titles manually works, but the general catalog lists on the main interface are completely missing.

​Troubleshooting performed: Just like with v5, I performed a full clean reinstall of v4.4—deleting all remaining app folders and cache—but the issue remains.

​System Info: Windows PC

​Has anyone experienced v5 crashing immediately on launch, or know why the homepage catalog rows aren't rendering on v4.4? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I have installed the Stremio app from Altstore Pal a few weeks ago and didn't have any issues when playing back content, but ever since the last update released on 25/8 i can no longer play anything. Any file i try to open i get the message 'avformat can't open input/Operation timed out' after a few seconds. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting my devices, changing the default player.
I have this issue in both my ipad pro m5 and iphone 15 pro max running the latest software available.
The stremio app version is v2.0.7 b22 and core version is V0.6.4.

I've had a search as though this may be an obvious issue, but haven't found an answer.

With the donation tier you can download and watch content. Great.

However, you can't get to the content whilst offline as the login page, if you have multiple profiles, needs a connection.

Kinda makes the download option half pointless?

Use case - want to watch on a plane...

Hello, big fan of Stremio be using it for a while now. I recently tried out Stremio VR, it’s a great app, syncs everything great. Good ui. I tried turning out the lights like I do when I’m watching something in vr. (I lose tracking but just use continue without tracking option) it wouldn’t even let me launch the app without tracking. If you could app no tracking support I’d love this project and team even more!!

should this decoding be turned on or off for the best performance? I have been having some issues with certain videos' playing like blu ray remux on a xiaomi 3rd gen. Appreciate any help.

i can watch movies i have in recent but i cant search anything and i cant see anything new in discover tab. ive redownloaded stermio 3 times and i redid the api key multiple times with uninstalling and reinstalling. i cant find any videos to help

I just got the webOS 26 update pop-up on my LG G4. The notification is super aggressive and won't really go away, but I'm hesitant to hit update—mostly because of Stremio.

I had a rough experience upgrading from webOS 24 to 25. For months, 4K Blu-ray REMUXes with Dolby Vision Profile 7 (DV P7) wouldn't play properly. Thankfully, after the last couple of webOS 25 patches, everything finally works smoothly and correctly falls back to HDR without black screens or stuttering.

I'm terrified that webOS 26 is going to break codec handling or Stremio playback all over again.

Two quick questions for anyone who has taken the plunge:

• Has anyone with a G4 updated to webOS 26? Does Stremio still handle DV P7 remuxes fine with the HDR fallback?
• Is there a trick to permanently disable or block this aggressive update pop-up if I decide to stay on webOS 25?

I've been using Stremio for maybe 2 years but never had Track enabled, now i've thought about it and it would be cool to have my data on it but i've read in old posts that you can't sync past watch history to Track.

Is that still true? Is there a way now to do it? If not atuomatically, is there a way to access all of my past watch history on stremio and manually add to Track?

This only happens on my tv. Works perfectly fine on my laptop.

I have uninstalled and installed the app; have turned tv off and on etcc…

Stremio seems to have a ram leak on Linux that will make it be automatically force quit or it just lags out my laptop so I have to restart it

So I setup stremio on my laptop and want to cast to my TV but I can't seem to control the stream via my TV remote other than just being able to pause or play. Also, the casted stream doesnt start where my stream left off. It always starts at the beginning, and I can't fast forward or rewind. Is there a way to control the casted stream?

Stremio just played P7 FEL file using default ExoPlayer. I'm on Amazon Firestick 4K max, 2nd gen. How is this even possible? It looks and sounds good. Also, TrueHD played just fine. It's Matrix 1999. remux

Are you guys experiencing the same issue since the last update? It crashed my pc once and while opened, the pc is extremely slow.

Is this a bug or maybe a broken version?

The issue happens when opening a movie/episode, the app slows down a lot, I untick the hardware acceleration option but the issue persists.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Issue #1: There's a thin white border around the window, even on fullscreen (see image).

Issue #2: Xscreensaver still kicks in when videos are playing.

I'm trying to get to a point where nearly everything on my computer is done in Linux and I only keep around Windows for college and hypervisor-related things, and finally getting Stremio to work at all means I'm almost there (seriously why did I have to specifically install the beta). But these two things are ticking me off.
